Adding mudguards and painting the bumpers on a Toyota 1995 Rav4 | Episode 7
Mudflaps or mudguards are a welcome upgrade for any off-road vehicle. This old Toyota gets new mudflaps, custom vinyl lettering, and a fresh coat of paint on the bumpers. The inner fender linings are also repaired.

An engine flush and oil pan reseal for this old Toyota

There was a small sump leak that needed attention. So I took the opportunity to also flush the engine oil, change the filter and change two exhaust gaskets on my 1995 Rav4. Half of this was done in the rain! My garage needs to be cleared out properly. This is relevant for the 1994,1995,1996,1997,1998,1999, and 2000 first generation Rav4. It's also probably relevant for many Toyotas.

The glass 1998 dual bulb headlights I found at the scrapyard still look new and make the perfect upgrade for my 1995 Rav4. The seat belt buckles and sun visors were also swapped. It's time to embrace the Toyota philosophy of continuous improvement, Kaizen! This is relevant for the 1994,1995,1996,1997,1998,1999, and 2000 first generation Rav4. This old Toyota sound system needed an upgrade after three decades. In the first step to reinvigorate my 1995 Rav4, the radiator gets some much needed tender loving care. I use radiator flush to clean out the old coolant and rust, and then add some new Toyota Long Life Coolant. This is relevant for the 1994,1995,1996,1997,1998,1999, and 2000 first generation Rav4. Hi mate, just watched all your videos and subscribed. I too own a mk1 Toyota Rav 4 with 98000miles. My father owned it for many years and I bought it from him 6 years ago. It is stored in a garage to protect from rust as it gets vulnerable after 27 years !. I have fitted a bull bar, I feel these make it look much better. The original bull bars are hard to get hold of but mine was off a honda and fitted ok after making some home made brackets. I also had to have radiator and petrol filler pipe replaced ( another common issue due to rust) welding has been carried out and the underneath has been waxoiled ( again to protect against rust) oh and I fitted some spot lights. This outlasted my Mitsubishi and Camaro even though i overheated the hell out of mine and ran the transmission dry

Hey I’m buying a rav4 1998 and it’s going to be my first car lol (I’m 19) because I live in Jamaica our roads can be rough and full of potholes. What I want to know is what kind of tires, and thing that make the ride not bumpy to get also I will change the brakes. I need your help lol.
Hey hey. The 1998 Rav4 is an excellent choice for rough roads. I can highly recommend Dunlop Grandtrek AT3 tires (215/70 R16) that fit the original 16 inch diameter wheels. They have never let me down. If the 1998 Rav4's struts and shocks are in bad condition, you can get replacement KYB front struts and rear shocks. Wishing you a smooth ride!

Very good videos keep posting I have the same model but is a 2000 the last year they produce it and the motor is a lite bit diferent and it was for europe so the steering wheel is original like in us market
