Welcome to my reading blog! I read mainly fantasy, science, fiction, YA dystopian, fantasy, sci-if. I also like cozy murders, sweet romances, and Jane Austen. In 2022, My goal is to complete the Harry Potter Flourish and Blotts O.W.L. Reading challenge, and if I can, the Popsugar reading challenge. In addition to reading, I teach, enjoy all things Baby Yoda, The Child, Grogu, and enjoy singing!

I absolutely loved The War that saved my life.I have a copy on my shelf along with the sequel.
@@sherylwill3309 that is good to hear!
I loved following all of your videos this month. Merry Christmas and all the best in your reading for the rest of December!🎄☃️❄️📚📚
Great job with your first bookmas! :)
@StormReads thanks! Meanwhile I'm so behind now in watching others videos
@emilyreads5207 I hear that! Me too!
You did a fantastic job with Bookmass! Good luck with your 2 remaining books - you can do it! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🦌🎁❤
@cajunpeachreads thanks! I just have 100 pages to go in one book- I've read 200 in The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year today.
I'm amazed how you have all these challenges mapped out already!
When I read physical books, I would buy probably 8-12 at a time and then not buy anymore until I read all or almost all of those, plus at the end of the year I would give them to my Daddy. Even with my Kindle though, I try not to get a bunch that I don't have plans to read. When I first got it I went overboard getting free books just because they were free, so not doing that has helped.
@cajunpeachreads I have been in school for so long that the last few years I went overboard making up for lost time. I need to reign things in in 2025. But there are a few releases I have my eye on
All the best on your reading challenges and goals! I’m currently reading and enjoying Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson. I’m planning on starting Wind and Truth as my next book within the next few days.
@@landon_woods-of-yore ohhh you've got two good ones on deck. How are you liking Tress so far?
@@emilyreads5207 I'm enjoying Tress, it's more lighthearted than the previous books that I've been reading, which is a good break. Also, there are some intriguing Cosmere tie-ins. Have you read Tress?
@@landon_woods-of-yore I have!
I struggled so much to find an actual moon on the cover of books for the 52 book club! A surprisingly difficult prompt!
@@MyBookHauledLife-Essie I who have Never Known Men has a moon on it (at least my edition does)
I love the Cat Who series. I read 5 or 6 in 2024. I am also looking forward to the Buzzword Challenge.
@MyBookHauledLife-Essie I'm curious to hear what you read for the challenge
I really loved Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. Read it in 11th grade and thought the writing was wonderful.
@iheartwalle I read it within the last couple of years. I enjoyed it, but didn't like it ad much as I wanted to. I appreciate it for its place as a canonical work and I'm glad I read it.
I hated Lord of the Flies lol. Had to read it in school and just didnt enjoy it at all.
@iheartwalle I'm so sorry. I love stories about human nature and why do people do the things that they do, so thst is one reason why I love it so much!
My fave this year was The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett. Fun fantasy mystery.
@@iheartwalle I enjoyed that one as well!
Oh I don't have that Jude Deveraux book, sorry you didn't like it. I guess I jusr don't let a lot of that stuff in the retro romances bother me lol.
@@StormReads I can send you it if you want
@emilyreads5207 oh that would be awesome!
@StormReads just message me in discord your address
I'm not that surprised by your #1. 😀 Our reading doesn't cross much, but I loved Iona and Garlic too.
@cajunpeachreads I know out reading doesn't cross much, so I'm grateful that you keep watching and commenting
📚📚📚🎄🎄🎄
I always wanna do challenges but im such a mood reader, i really struggle
@iheartwalle I ama mood reader when stress levels are high at work, so I try to have a balance of heavy and light when I plan challenges.
Good luck with all your challenges! I'm enjoying seeing what books you are picking for them.
@@cajunpeachreads thanks! We will see how much I can execute! Lol. I love the planning process
All the best with your reading challenge! 📚
@@landon_woods-of-yore thanks Landon!
Good luck with your challenge. 🎅
@@StormReads thanks Storm!
I hated the Scarlet Letter and Where the Red Fern Grows - seems only the ones I had a visceral reaction to have stayed with me from school. I don't remember a lot of novel reading in college, more Shakespeare and Molière which I did enjoy. It just occurred to me, had I not already been a reader, what they made us read in high school may have turned me off from reading - hmm something to ponder. Also may be late watching today and tomorrow (20th and 21st) because I'm getting together with my Stepmother.
@@cajunpeachreads I'm not a big fan of Where the Red fern grows either. I really feel like reading in school needs to be high interest texts to make reading fun.
So many good books! Hope you like the Cheese Shop - I love it. My hold for Most Wonderful Crime may come in by next Christmas 😆
@cajunpeachreads I'm looking forward to trying more copies next year but not sure my TBR can handle it lol
This time next year is so much fun
@birdieandthebooksalicia94 so glad.to hear that!
I’m also excited for Wind and Truth. My copy arrived several days ago!
@landon_woods-of-yore hope you enjoy it. I'm slowly working on Rhythm of War- looking forward to Christmas break so I can make a good dent into it!
I enjoyed your book haul! I’m planning on going to my favorite used bookstore tomorrow. I have a big box of books I’m ready to get rid of and hopefully I’ll get a good amount of store credit. 📚
@landon_woods-of-yore hope you get good store credit! I only made bank because I had DVDs and the Shakespeare boxed set
Hope you enjoy all your cool new books! 😀
@@StormReads thanks. I got a lot this month! Lol
As many challenges as you do, double or even triple up is the way to go or you would be doing just challenges all year. I sometimes like to see if I can find one book to fit all the prompts on a bingo card (ones I do are usually not strict, it so, I wouldn't) I've done it once and came close once.
@@cajunpeachreads getting ready to film another challenge video lol
I dont know why im so committed to finding out what coffee you get every day lol
@iheartwalle too funny
My mom went into the hospital on Christmas Eve 2017 and died in the hospital February 3rd 2018. Never came home. Her illness was sudden and shocking. So with my heart I am sorry for the loss of your Mom. I am glad she had you to make her days brighter. The Snowman family is a lovely keepsake. ❤
@@lauraann7816 so sorry for your loss.sending virtual hugs
📚🌲🎄❄️📚
I need to remember to order that Advent calendar next year, most of those coffees sound so good. You are so organized to have them all picked out already. I'm going to do the Around the World readathon on KTWC and the usual, PK's HisMyst and Storms Retro Romance and that's as far as I can think ahead lol.
@cajunpeachreads I like to plan. But the question is will I execute? Lol
I am about to start a book on Bonhoeffer's writings from when he was in prison. The biography by Eric Metaxes is wonderful. My Christian books aren't in any kind of order. Great organization.
@@TwoMinutesonBooks-bt8lg I had to read his biography for school. It was good.
I loved Fahrenheit 451 and I am very picky about my classics
@@iheartwalle so glad to hear that. It's one I've been meaning to read for a while
I love Shakespeare. I used to study it in English class when I was in high school and still love Shakespeare to this day at 39 years old. My favorites are A Midnight Summers Dream and Romeo and Juliet. I also lost both of my parents as well. Northanger Abby is my favorite Jane Austen book of all time. Happy Holidays to you 🎄
@BarbieandKensWorld I'm sorry for your loss. And glad to hear you love Shakespeare! I want to like him more.
@ thanks I am also sorry for your loss as well. I haven’t read Shakespeare in awhile but I plan to get back into it soon
I got that same planner and cover. Hasn't shipped yet.
@@forkyfork hope you get it soon.
@emilyreads5207 Me too..how long does it take to ship?
@forkyfork it's coming from Canada. The postal service is on strike right now, so inwould contact customer service just to be safe and ask if that is impacting shipping. I ordered mine on release day, before the strike so I can't really answer that question.
Hope everything is good with the crown now. I can't believe they were going to do it without numbing you! I love the winter scents candles too.
@cajunpeachreads well- I can bite on soft food. But crispy pizza crust hurts.(not bad, but I shouldn't be feeling anything.) Sigh. I'll be calling the dentist Monday.
@@emilyreads5207 I hope that gets better.
@@cajunpeachreads thanks.
I don't hear the music on the video - but I know how annoying that is. I love all your snowmen!
@cajunpeachreads it's so obnoxious how loud they are. I had two box fans on high last night plus a video playing on my tablet and I could still hear their music last night. Grr
I love your snowman collection! They are my next favorite thing besides Grinch lol.
@@StormReads snowman are great because you can leave them up longer
📚Some of those sound really good, I'm intrigued by your description of Unpacking Forgiveness.
@@cajunpeachreads it really changed how I view what forgiveness really means
🎄🎅📚
great booktour thx🙏😇
@@Lana-j1j4q thanks for watching!
I love the mask and it is very fitting - didn't know you sang! 😊
@@cajunpeachreads I don't sing in the chorus anymore, but I do sing backup at church
🎄😀
I'm enjoying seeing all your bookcases and how you have them organized - my Kindle is not that well organized. 😄
@cajunpeachreads my kindle is somewhat organized. But I have SOOOOO many books on my kindle because when I got my first kindle years and years ago I went to town putting all sorts of free books on it. I did organize some intimate collections (romance, seminary books, sci-fi/fantasy), but I'm SLOWLY going thur and deleting books that I know I won't read.
I’m loving these bookshelf videos. Thanks for sharing Emily!🙂
@@landon_woods-of-yore thanks for watching!
I loved Uprooted but i understand the criticisms
@@iheartwalle good to know. I will keep it on the shelf
You should read Foundryside! Its so good.
@@iheartwalle I DO want to read it. I've heard such good things about it.
Emily, I love your book planner!
@@landon_woods-of-yore now I just need to use it
That looks like a really nice planner/tracker. There was very minimal shaking - I didn't really notice it
@cajunpeachreads just wait for one of my bookshelf tours lol
I found a picture of my Aunt with her husband and for the life of me I could not remember taking that picture with him- it took me a few to realize it was her and not me! 🤣I love seeing and hearing about all your special objects too,
That's very organized to have a bookcase for your challenge books. Hope you feel better - I know cold is so hard for asthma.
