มุมมอง 28ปีที่แล้ว
I have been out on the road camping and sightseeing for the last couple of weeks from Florida (Homebase) to Big Bend Np in West Texas and up to Denver, Colorado where my daughter Courtney flew in to stay with me for a few days then fly back to her home in Orlando, Fl.

This is the headwaters of Lake Talquin Florida (Leon County) and a popular fishing area as well. The lake is fed by the Ochlockonee River.

I kept several of these type engines going in the feilds of south Arkansas, mostly 46-66&96 Continental engines. When the river came up they would go down but you colud drain them and get them going again. Now they have all electric and you have to go take them off before the water rises. It sucks, some weigh enough to sink a boat. I loved these old engines and a lot did run off the well head gas, and cost little to nothing to operate but technology phased them out, costing much more expense and wasted time.
It's called the sucker rod.
20000st
Actually its pushing the oil out as the down hole pump is a submersible pump. The oil comes up the tubing string on the down stroke.
Love the hit & miss engine
Worked on enough of these
Just an uneducated guess, but I don't think that one is actually pumping oil. Lots of coal bed methane around Farmington. The location only has the one tank and a phase separator, no water knock out. I believe this jack is there to pull water off the coal bed to allow the gas out, not actually producing oil. I could be wrong though...
Pretty cool
What happens if you do damages? Can someone see you?
Why would you ask that...
@@bradleymcwilliams6348 There are spiteful and uncivilized people around.
those are neat to see
شكرا لك
Surprised they don't fence them off now days with kids get their arm lopped off, or worse than they sue the owner claiming should have been fenced off. See the water oil separator tank behind it. Sometimes they run the engine off gas coming off the well itself or many were converted to electric motor as power lines were pulled into the area.
The shinny rod is called a Polish rod. The Polish rod is connected to sucker rods, that are connected to the pump barrel. Every stroke should bring up some fluid. The single cylinder engine is a Ajax combustion engine. The red box at the wellhead is called a stuffing box that has packing inside of it to seal off the Polish rod and keep the production inside the flowline that is connected to the production tank that was in the background. The long cable pulling on the Polish rod is called a bridle. The smaller cable and arm that sits on top of the bridle is known as a rod rotator. The rod rotator slowly turns the Polish rod, sucker rods and pump barrel so they don't wear the rods and pump on one side and helps them all have a longer run life. The red gauge at the wellhead is a Hi/Low pressure gauge. It can be set to ground out the ignition on the Ajax engine if the flowline pressure was to get to high or to low. High line pressure could be caused by a closed or a restricted valve in the flowline system and also high pressure when it gets too cold and the produced fluid thickens up and will not move.
Made in Poland, they are
Im glad you got to see one up close.
Good ❤❤
Very nice
Desde Colombia un suscriptor mas!!!!!!! excelente video, I like it, great
I poked some holes in the Farmington Area in the early 1970's. Hauled a lot of them Jacks around....
Pump Jack's are everywhere...you apparently never bothered to look. And you appear to be trespassing.
That’s probably BLM land.
Is that even a problem? You don’t see them around the uk.
@@tonyfrewin4822 Laws vary but generally if it behind a gate or door or is posted “no trespassing”, then people are not allowed to enter. Same for if the property owner or agent asks you to leave ams you refuse or reenter.
@@tonyfrewin4822 It is a problem, although mainly because of the concern of getting sued if they do something stupid...
At first I thought by sound the motor was running on well gas. Then you showed the propane storage tank.
That's more or less to get it going.. it wouldn't be cost effective to have them run off propane.. usually they run them on propane until they're up to temp, then switch to well gas... again, generally
yes i have both water and oil
