I really appreciate you posting this video. I am currently planning out my next tank project and want to utilize an extruded aluminum stand myself. I have wanted to get a good look at one of these stands being assembled. I think $2,400.00 for just a stand is a lot of money. Personally I can't justify spending that much money for something I know I can buy the materials, assemble it myself and have the satisfaction of doing it my self for less $$$ than that.
I totally feel that. Once you get your materials acquired and stand built i'd love for you to post pics of your process on ReefBay.
Highly recommend getting one sand conch, like a tiger conch. They do a really nice job eating algae and turning the sand bed.
@@jason5584 thanks! I will see if my LFS has any.
I highly recommend the hanna high range tester! As easy as the hanna phosphate checker!
@@LGReef Great to know. thank you! I just realize I do have the low range for Nitrate. LR was a nightmare haha
@@ReefBay_app yes definitely try the nitrate high range. It so easy to test!Highly recommend it!
Expensive but that stand will last forever and one of these days I’ll have to get one
I rinse my sand with tap water (20ppm) when i do big cleans . Especially new live sand , zero particles floating around after.
You ain't meant to rinse live sand . No point buying it , just get dry sand .
Beautiful 😍
I bet this move was so stressful and exhausting. Glad most was great news. Thanks for sharing.👌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Your app sounds amazing, I’m not in the USA but it definitely will help reefers find deals. Smart idea. As for the tank, looks good but I’m surprised you just did new sand, new saltwater, live rock and fish straight. To be it sounds like a new cycle was required, and I wonder if the fish died because of that. I would’ve dosed something to speed up or even used the same tank water to help with cycling etc.
@@rudra7615 We’ve got reefers from all over the world on ReefBay it’s not just for USA! Thank you. Majority of the beneficial bacteria is on the live rock that’s why transferring existing tanks work. I have not lost any fish since putting them in the tank. I also have been testing ammonia and nitrite to make sure it’s safe and both are 0ppm.
@ will check out the app
Why not do a deep clean of the sump while you had the chance?
Nice video man! Great to see most of your inhabitants made it
Not the Pink Elephants 😂 been there done that 😂 tank looks good give it more time you’re a pro . I love the Reef Bay App wish I had more time to be on it but when I am it’s good 👍
Great but poorly executed it’s fine I’ve moved my tank lost 4 small fish but it’s very hard much harder then you anticipate been there. Good job though overall It would be nice to see equipment and sump I assume you built from eBay baffles? Thanks
@@moereefer it sure was a lot more than I anticipated hah. Yeah I built that sump with a baffle kit and siliconed it together back in 2021. I will go into detail about all the equipment in the future.
Voice track is a bit too low on volume mate. Visual effects were on point. Cheers
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I will work on getting the audio levels better.
This was stressful to watch at parts...
Loved this man. So raw yet thorough. Thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss!
I am stressing moving 10 hours away with my babies next month. I would be heartbroken to lose any.
@@WildPursuit1 Goodluck you got this! Hopefully you’re in a little bit warmer weather than me haha. But if not heat packs are great.
I had monti that big before and did the same thing when moving it broke into pieces, the good thing it’s a fast grower😊
Aha yeah it does grow fast. I just checked out your channel, sweet set up! I'd love for you to check out the ReefBay App. We got a growing community where you can list your for sale corals to local users!
@ I just downloaded the app it’s awesome.. thank you..
@ Sweet. Welcome! I’ve got a ton of awesome updates coming soon.
Great work moving yout system always a nerve racking task.
Reef bay is like the Instagram for the saltwater hobby only very nice definitely an App we didn’t even know we needed‼️
Nice billy! That looks nice and a move was well handled since it was the first time moving it from its first time being set up. Looking forward to the next video of you arranging and putting corals into the tank!
Yoo it’s (the reef) from Reef bay!
Sorry about your foxface man. It’s hard to explain to non-hobbyists how attached we get to these guys.
Insanely expensive, but incredible stand. I did mine DIY by ordering individual bars on Amazon and cutting them to size with a miter saw/aluminum blade, but it's nice to have it in kit form and the anchors pre-machined. Good video.
@@ronaldlambertson2624 thank you. Do you know roughly how much your DIY stand costed and how many gallon does it hold? Also what material did you use for the top?
love the aluminum stands but not the prices. Yours does look great though.
Thanks. I would agree it's quite pricey. Now that I understand Aluminum T slots I think I could source the parts individually and build for cheaper in the future. Though it was nice having everything in a kit for my first time.
@@ReefBay_app I totally agree with that.
Looking good 👍👍
🔥🔥🔥
Those Tnutz stands are great but they are a righteous pain to level! Great work man!
