Using Farm Irrigation For Wildfire Control
In this video I show three areas where irrigation can help control spread of wildfire across the proeprty and on all sides of my house. Mini sprinklers and Wobbler Sprinklers and a hose with nozzle are powered by either grid power and/or a gas driven pump to deliver the water across 3 acres.

This project took two years to complete, sometimes it takes patience to get things done. I explain how 50 loads of tree trimmer mulch turned into huge compost pile full of worms which is now ready to plant as a garden.

Mulberry pruned 2022
มุมมอง 4232 ปีที่แล้ว
This area was pure sand 2-1/2 years ago. So, all the growing things you see were planted purposefully. Last year I did some maintenance pruning of mulberry and the overstory trees. This year was the same for mulberry but I did a miore heavy reduction of the overstory trees reducing their canopy by about 1/2 to let in more sunlight. I may eventually reduce the overstory by 1/2 again next year, w...

wtf's the point of this vid? I want to see the fecking tree come out of the fecking ground!!!
Thanks for sharing.
That's a nice collection of mangoes and avocados. What city are you in?
So much growth in a few years… looking good
❤ What a wonderful orchard! ❤
Will the flower buds push out on the branches trimed short?
Youre amazing 🙌 gee, finger limes, too?
Did you use some sort of machinery to create the raised beds/mounds that the trees are planted on?
Yes, the space was cleared and I used a tractor and box scraper to pull soil from one side to raise the beds about 14 inches.
Wonderful tour Jay, things are looking abundant!!!
Oh my gosh! This is my goal for my yard. Yours is so beautiful!
that cant be a 3 year old tree...
Can't tell you're growing on sand soil. 😄👍.
Nice plants man!
Absolute Abudance. Nice
You could have monitored more and cut those roots on the earths surface, but what do I know.
Love this video ! How beautiful ! Do you save seed for peppers ? I worry about proximity at my place because I don’t want my sweet peppers hot Thanks!
Are you working on top of Spodosols there?
mansanitas in Philippines. atis is the Filipino name for sugar apple
Really nice and healthy. Top layer always looks dry. You have a nice windbreak too. Are you going to do no dig garden? How far will a pitchfork go down without digging up the soil or did you say 4 inches? Our backyard garden is no joke at 20' x 10'. Partial shade. No dig in Zone 6B. Compost DIY. Every year we put in something new along with our favorites. Baby steps.
Nice one looks good
dos this flower have fragnance ?
I think some maybe from the actual cherries that fall and sprout
Amazingly tropical garden for Georgia!🫡🤝
Hello Jay. I’m looking for Chaya cuttings and Matthew Reese suggested I contact you. Do you have any Chaya cuttings for sale? I only need 4.
I planted one in my yard 6 months ago when it was about 18 inches in height. It is now close to 7 feet tall. I have never seen any plant or tree grow that fast.
Wow wow wow, you make me so thankful that I have mine in a large pot! Thank you for the tips!!
Gorgeous system!
Would you suggest leaving it in a pot instead of in the ground ?
Are you sure that it’s not birds dropping seeds?
This was my thought too, but I’m fairly new to this lol
Sometimes severe damage or cutting a tree hard causes it to produce tons of suckers. My starfruit tree for example started root suckering when I started topping it to keep it low and weeping. I have starfruit suckers come up 20’ away from the mother tree now.
would it be better to shred the woods or does it degrade fast enough?
Very nice transformation of your driveway. Always impressed with the amount of work you put into your farm.
Thanka for the heads up
This makes me worry about planting in my little yard
Thank you for sharing your knowledge just came across and heard about you from Clark Caramba. I am a new subscriber
I live in Bokeelia and I am basically starting over after hurricane Ian. Any chance I can buy dragonfruit cuttings from you? Thank you!
That’s an amazing tree
Yo what country are you in?
Awesome, thank you
Just trying to figure out where you are at?
We are loving all this content! We are currently planting a 3 acre property in Hudson, FL and are harvesting all the information we can get out of these videos. Thank you so much!
Those rows are looking good Jay!
Very nice, where is this? What size is the planting plot?
SW Florida and the plot is just under 1/4 acre.
The system is looking good as always Jay!
Looking amazing for 6 months! Keep up the good work guys!
Hopefully the weather will cooperate for blooming time. Very nice. I'm in zone 6. Neighbor is having success this year, for some reason, with his peach tree. We brought him over some beautiful tomatoes. Weather was so hot 1/4th of our tomatoes ripened. Back yard garden. No dig. Humming bird feeder/sugar water so plenty of bees and friendly birds. Small pond for water for gold fish and birds, squirrels. Fall seeds, a verity of veg. are coming up. In our 70's. Keeping us young. :)
Now you have me thinking of cutting down the one near my house I planted a year ago!
ill dig it up for you and take it... where are you located
How is your tree doing? Mine is a year old but it's not that big, I am worried about planting it on the ground.
Lol, it’s probably cutting it that stimulates it to produce tons of suckers
Thanks for sharing your insights!
Awesome system Jay! Love seeing all those happy little critters :)
Oh wow so it has runners and spreads 😬
