The House at Pig Corner
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 ก.ย. 2014
A warm welcome to all new visitors. It's great to have you here with us.
The House at Pig Corner is home for a group of guinea pig boars in North Devon. During the daytime the pigs have access to a secluded garden area of approx 100 m2 which is mostly sheltered and/or covered.
The channel was originally created with the idea of encouraging viewers to create their own stimulating environment where piggies can be safe, explore, get plenty of fresh air and live their best life possible. SInce then its focus has gradually shifted, and it has evolved into something slightly different, which was probably inevitable, and most likely happens with a lot of small channels.
If you like what you see and have enjoyed watching, please consider leaving comments which will help @PigCorner to grow. Thanks, Ash (m)

Guinea Pigs - A Trip to the Greenhouse
You have a super amazing outdoor piggy paradise! I love your natural set up-the tunnels, the thick branches, and the stick-up apples! It is so great to feed piggies in such a fun way! Your piggies are adorable! :)
Your video is aptly titled! I thought I had known guinea pigs for a very long time, and I didn't think they could be so sneaky with each other. I was surprised by Albert the Great's behavior! It's sad to see Pike in this situation. When he finally dared to come in, I have the impression that it was Cedric who welcomed him? I really like this little guy because he is mischievous but kind ❤️
@@sylviegay75 As soon as I mentioned it to you I had a realisation that it had probably been Albert. Not like him at all really, as I’ve been singing his praises recently.
Thank you so much for introducing Stanley and Harvey; it's very touching. It's great that you then welcomed their other brothers and the family is reunited. I'm happy to know you 🥰
Thanks Sylvie, I'm touched! I looked into giving their other brothers family names too, but it didn't quite work I'm afraid. Had to settle for names from the same era, but which are all HP names too apparently, or near enough!
@@PigCorner All your boys' names are very cute! I can now recognize several of them, but there are many that are similar and it's not easy. I'm new to your channel, so I'm still giving myself time... Luckily you put the name next to your boys in your videos; it's a very good idea!
@@sylviegay75 I understand totally. At first I didn't think I'd even be able to manage it either, but it eventually comes. Only difficulty I have these days is evening roll-call. First thing I do is count how many of the black boys are inside, then if necessary use the torch. Finally, if I have to, wait until later and then retrieve Cedric from the playground. But that has happened for a while. He's slowly regaining his confidence.
@@PigCorner You organized yourself very well with your boys, and it's better with this big family 😂. I'm very happy for Cédric that he's regaining confidence little by little. I saw it on your last video; it warmed my heart for this little guy 🥰, and I can imagine your relief! I hope that tonight, he'll answer the call the first time 🤞
@@sylviegay75 It all depends on whether Stanley is guarding the front door I'm afraid Sylvie. He does like to make it awkward for Cedric if he can. I've also seen some of the others behave like that towards Amos and Pike by the way. Back in the days when they were all allowed out at the same time, Pike in particular would find it difficult to get back inside and upstairs. There's a clip which shows that. 'Pike Ambushed' I think it was called.
I really like this video! And Meowler is right, this spiral staircase is really cool! I wanted to tell you before, then I forgot. Stanley, always the same 😅. Quite frankly, I really like Heather's language that makes me smile, and she is right; she says out loud what everyone is thinking 😅
Thanks Sylvie, I've gradually come to think that most viewers like Heather and her occasional slip ups. Certainly nobody has complained yet, so it may be tiime to wind it up a notch. Yes I'm quite pleased with how the spiral staircase ended up. I do wonder now though whether Amos and Pike will be able to manage it as they approach old age.
📢 Wheek!! Wheek!! Wheek!! 😂. Your mornings must be hectic with all those adorable little hungry gluttons 😋! It reminds me of my little treasures. I always only have 2 at a time, but every morning, I had to feed them right away if I wanted to be able to drink my coffee in peace afterwards 😅
05:00 every morning, my favourite time of the day I think. The wheeking usually starts as soon as they hear my footsteps on the stones outside. It's wonderful to see them again all safe and well, and most days Piggly B is almost hanging over the fence on the first floor trying to make sure he's first to be fed. I think the loudest wheeks are from Stanley though. That's what Wendy told me when he was a baby and hadn't left home yet. I think she had nicknamed him Dobbie back then, after a character in Harry Potter! For anyone interested enough, if you google it there is a very strong resemblance!
@@PigCorner I just looked it up on Google. There may be a resemblance, but Stanley is still much cuter, even if he misbehaves 😄
@@sylviegay75 There is a reason why he and Harvey have those names. Stanley Harvey was my grandfather, was born in Essex, very close to where the piggies came from. Stan later moved to Devon with his family, after WWII. More detaills in 'Stanley and Harvey ' clip I think.
@@PigCorner Thank you so much for your kind explanations 😊❤️
I love all the structures you made for your boys! We can see how much you love them and they are so happy 🥰. I heard Heather say on a video that the best gift we can give guinea pigs 🎁 is to give them freedom, and it's true! Piggly B could have hurt himself, but I also think he wouldn't have insisted if he felt he was putting himself in danger. He's quite fearless 😄
The only thing he seems to fear is being picked up. But all piggies are like that of course. That short tunnel has been removed now, so it's no longer an issue. It was my fault, and I'm grateful it was pointed out to me.
It's great to see Stanley mingling with the other boys and eating relatively peacefully. Jay-Dee did a great job and I hope she can give you an update soon 🤞. I did see that Mario was limping, and you wrote that it happens to other boys sometimes. Is it possible that they could hurt themselves in their house, for example by squeezing through their tunnels? I noticed on a video yesterday that Stanley has to flatten himself a bit to get through. Maybe it's too much stress on their leg joints? Your boys are very well cared for and they're lucky to be able to eat this delicious wild dandelion and fresh grass 🥰!
@@sylviegay75Bonjour Sylvie. I think the flat tunnel inside the house may be becoming a bit flattened, due to then clambering around over the top perhaps? We saw an example of that yesterday I think. But I noticed elsewhere this morning that a couple of them were avoiding using the outside tunnels as well. So you may be correct, and perhaps those tunnels need re-doing, with extra room.
@@sylviegay75 Regarding JD, I have left a couple messages with her recently, wishing her well etc, and hope she responds soon.
@@PigCorner Hi Ash. I also hope JD will give you an update soon; she seems like such a good person. If you have to do tunnels again, I imagine it's a lot of work! Have a great day 😊❤️
@ They’ve been nibbling at them as well in places. It’s a sort of frustration I think when they can see food being dished out and they have to wait their turn. Early mornings and evenings usually, when they’re in the nest boxes. They don’t actually eat the plastic, but the nibbling is probably contributing to the tunnels flattening. I’ve even noticed it at the top of the spiral staircase, where they have made a hole to get across from one staircase to the other!
My best guess regarding Mario would be that he hurt his paw on the lip of the small white pellet bowl in the house. That has now been removed. You may indeed have a point regarding their leg joints though. But all piggies love their tunnels, and it would be a shame to remove them really.
❤❤❤❤❤
@@OGShaBrim Hi Barbie, welcome back,
@ Thank You♥️
@ it's great to see that you're becoming a regular visitor. I appreciate each and every one of my subs, so thank you!
We can clearly see Stanley's torn ear. For Cedric to have fought him so badly, he must have been really pissed off! Poor Cedric checks for a long time if Stanley is around before daring to venture out. It's a really difficult situation to handle for your boys as well as for you! I've never seen such a belligerent guinea pig before. Cedric is an incorrigible and kind tease, because from 6mn30, he teases another boy 😂. I don't think it's Piggly B this time, but I don't recognize them all yet 😊❤️
@@sylviegay75 The incident with Stanley’s ear happened at the same time as the attempt on tRump. So there were a few jokes that Cedric tried to assassinate him, but made a pig’s ear of it!
@@PigCorner Thanks Ash for this funny anecdote!
Mario is so handsome and cute 😍🥰. A happy guinea pig's popcorn is one of the most beautiful things to see! 🐹❤️ I'm looking for your video Why Always Me, and I stopped on the way to watch this wonder!
Yes he's probably the prettiest of the lot, if that's the right description for a male. He's also the most engaging, once I've managed to pick him up. He absolutely loves neck/ear/chin massage, and voluntarily lifts his paws up onto the bridge made by my thumbs whilst I give him his massage. He seems to want to get close and make the best contact he can. Such a dear little chap!
You don't need to name Stanley so he won't be long in coming, and he still eats up high to have a good view of his "disciples" 😄. I'm so glad Cedric alias Pumbaa came! I have the impression that he really likes to tease Piggly B. For a moment, I was afraid that Cedric had left for good, but he came back; brave little guy 🥰. Harvey has become very agile and he found the trick to not have to come down 😄. Thank you very much for this lovely video 😊❤️
@@sylviegay75 Cedric teasing Piggly B? If that’s another of your very keen observations Sylvie, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s true! I had noticed them together a bit, but hadn’t formulated a thought quite along those lines.
@@sylviegay75 And as Heather pointed out, their gymnastics skills are improving all the time now!
@@PigCorner He keeps teasing him and Piggly B gets annoyed from 1:34, but it's not bad
@@PigCorner They are training for the next Olympic games 😂
@ Thank you Sylvie, you are hereby appointed chief observer to this channel, and we will be relying on you to spot anything new which the rest of us have missed! ❤️😂💕👀
So who can identify what the new silver-grey coloured bowl was, before it became a piggie-trough?
I have thought about it, but I really don't know where it could come from 🤔; I hope you will give us the answer, won't you?
@ I think you may be at a disadvantage because it might not be so common in France, if it even exists. But I’m pretty sure any UK based viewer might recognise it, especially female viewers.
@@PigCorner So, maybe it's a hair coloring container? But I find it a bit big...
@ I think whoever correctly identifies the plastic bowl first should win its original contents. It will be posted to them in late November or early December.
@@PigCornerdo you know if the item is common in Australia? I can’t seem to identify it😅
I’m watching from Sweden 😊
Good morning PP, I'm Ash by the way. And it's been great seeing you around for the past few days. And you're right, Sylvie rocks!
@PigCorner Good morning to you Ash! I’m happy I found you and your channel 😊 And Sylvie, TH-cam wouldn’t be the same without her!
Omg. They def being bad little guinnea pigs. But, they are just too cute to be angry at them ❤️
@@TheBlazersfan22 Hi and welcome to Pig Corner. You’re right, they are bad boys today alright! But it’s not always like this. It was my fault really, for letting them all out at the same time.
I should also add that most of the time they are quite well behaved, and I totally agree that they are just too cute to be really angry with them!
They look like they are singing in unison!
Hi Wendy, welcome back. Nice to see you checking in on your boys again. There's no doubt who is boss these days, is there?
They are so cute, and I love all the structures and amenities you have made for your boys, both outside and inside! I can see how much this video means to you my friend. I am still sorry for your loss of your precious Oscar 😟. If I understand correctly, Oscar is the one on your channel logo. I am not sure if you should remove his picture like you suggest, because it is your way of honoring him, and that is important. Our friend Piglypaws also lost his precious Gos about 2 months ago, and he kept his picture on his channel logo 😊❤️
@@sylviegay75 I’m confused now, as I thought PP was a lady! I thought there was mention of her husband’s brother providing the photo used for one of the thumbnails?
@@sylviegay75 My younger brother Mal actually made the wooden boxes in the playground, although I did the rest I think.
@@sylviegay75 Just checked PP again. Looks to be way too much pink and fluff everywhere for PP to be male. Also check community section, and the new year’s card. It mentions husband’s brother took the photo. So I say PP must be female.
@@PigCorner I said "he" out of habit, and I understand that you are confused because I was recently too! Let me explain: Since I met PP about 6 months ago, I was always convinced to talk to the husband, even though I know that his wife, (and occasionally his young children), actively participate in the development of the videos. And one day, at the very beginning of this year, I received answers saying "I will talk to my husband", "my husband bought chose this or that"... It really surprised me and I was confused! Even if she is very kind like her husband, her way of expressing herself is a little different of course, and I did not understand at all what was happening. I did not dare to ask questions, and over the last few weeks, I told myself that they had for some reason changed their organization... To change the subject, Mal also did a good job! 😊
🤩 I think Cedric is the missing boy. If I answered correctly, what did I win? 😂. You were right to recommend this video; I really appreciate the fact that you invite your audience to interact 😊
You are correct, it was indeed Cedric, so what would you like as a prize? He had to be edited out, through no fault of his own I must add. He did come down the stairs as he was supposed to, but there was something going on under the stairs which ruined it.
Actually you might have won a surprise visit from my two daughters. They are due to visit Paris on 10th May for a music concert, and will be staying in a hotel overnight before returning home the following day. I have an idea it’s a fairly central venue, possibly close to where you live.
@@PigCorner This is amazing! Maybe your daughters would have time during their stay so that we could meet for a coffee in a brasserie or go to a restaurant? May 10th is still a long way off, but it's an idea that I like! 😊
@@sylviegay75 I will put the idea to them, but it depends on flight times I guess, and how tight their schedule is.
@@PigCorner I can well imagine that their schedule will be tight. It was just a suggestion, but a sincere one, and I thought that if I didn't do it, I would seem like an unsociable person 😄
😂 I thought I counted 14 or 15, but I know that's impossible; I thought I saw some of your boys several times. It's so funny and so cute 🥰
It was quite fun to make this one. Each of the piggies you see comes down twice, and then the clip loops and repeats. But the order changes for their second run down before the loop. That's what makes it difficult to count them.
@@PigCorner I understand that you had fun; you are a joker 😂
Guinea pigs aren’t supposed to have apple skins & I hope they aren’t eating the seeds
I wasn't aware that they can't eat apple skins, so I will check that out, thanks. Yes I do remove the core now before giving it to them. Thanks for your interest.
Hi bro - certainly changed since I last saw the pigs in real life, and on here too. Definitely better now with the audio. 👍
@@mallorygrant4805 Thanks, and yes it’s made a big difference. But it means a lot of work has to go into each clip. Still, it’s quite enjoyable for me - and the kind of thing I’d like creating anyway. What makes it really worthwhile though is audience engagement, from people like Sylvie.
I feel like Piggly B, Stanley and Mario are often the first to come and enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet 😋. Your boys are very spoiled with so much variety! The fact that they have to do a bit of gymnastics to get their food certainly stimulates them intellectually and physically. I really appreciate the fact that you indicate in small print the name of each participant. It helps me a lot to know them; I have difficulty telling some of them apart that look very similar, but I recognize Albert now with the pretty flame on his back. I congratulate Mario 🥳 for stealing food from under Stanley's nose who didn't even react 😄. Big boss Stanley stays up high so he can keep an eye on everything, that's for sure! I also hope that the very nice lady is well and that you will hear from her soon. I really appreciate the collaboration of your narrator. Thank you so much for this lovely video 😊❤️
Thanks Sylvie, lovely to see you here again, and thank you for your kind words. It's always great to hear your thoughts, and I appreciate your visits here. You are right about those three being first to arrive usually, but it's possibly skewed a bit because of the two old guys being upstairs, and Cedric being a bit reluctant to come forward. But don't worry, I make sure everybody gets a fair share.
@@PigCorner Thanks for reassuring me about Cedric. I was sure all your boys had had their share because I know you are a wonderful guinea pig dad 🥰.
To answer your question, I haven't watched any of your shorts yet because I'm new to your channel. I'm focusing on your longer videos to get to know you and your little treasures. Personally, I have a preference for these longer videos. I love this video and hearing your boys chatter 🥰. Guinea pigs have such a varied range of vocalizations! Your shed is wonderfully designed for their well-being 🤩! They seem to really enjoy the broccoli which is very interesting for their diet. Mario is practical and very inventive! I hope he didn't irritate his paws with the edge of the dish 🤞. Does Cedric now answer the evening call and go back into the shed? I love this brave little guy who had the courage to defend himself against Stanley 😊❤️
@@sylviegay75 Bonjour Sylvie! Great to see you back here again. There are probably only 2 or 3 shorts I would definitely recommend to you. Nine Out Of Ten and How Many Piggies because they were such fun to make. Plus Early Morning Exit via the Back Door, because it features Oscar - who I lost shortly after the clip was made. It was his loss that sparked the arrivals of the black boys and the expansion of the herd to its current size of 10.
Regarding Cedric. Yes he now returns to the shed at dusk and waits until he is sure that is safe for him to enter. He will then usually make his way to the first floor where he spends the night. Previously he had been avoiding the evening roll call and I would have to wait until it was completely dark and then go to retrieve him from the nest boxes in the playground. It is fairly safe out there, but not as secure as a locked shed obviously.
@@PigCorner Thank you so much Ash for the explanation and your recommendations! I will check out those shorts! I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Oscar; it is always a deep heartbreak 😥. He must have been very happy because of you ❤️, and his sad departure allowed new boys to be very happy too 🥰
@@PigCorner Thank you 🙏! I am happy that Cédric is coming back to the hangar, and I imagine your great relief for this adorable little guy 😊!
@ I love your use of the word hangar, but don't know whether it's intentional or just a quirk of translation? In English, hangar is where planes get parked, usually overnight for maintenance etc. So if it's intentional i find it quite clever. Nice one!
It’s nice to see piggies eating greens in the sun ☀️ They are very handsome all of them 😊
Thanks PP. Thinking of adding two more to the herd - younger brothers to Cedric & Percy, although completely different visually. I'm torn over it tbh, and may conduct a poll before deciding. It would be nice for family to stay together, but there is the risk of upsetting the status quo. At this stage I'm not sure what to do.
I learned some time ago on a channel that the fact that guinea pigs stand up by raising their heads to eat would be beneficial for their lymphatic (or digestive) system 😊
I think you must be reading my script Sylvie? I'm just recording tomorrow's narrative and you've pretty much stolen Heather's lines! I guess she must be getting a bit predictable? Seriously though, the main reason I put the food like that is because it makes for better viewing. But I'm sure you're correct and i wouldn't think it can do them any harm.
@@PigCorner This coincidence is really amazing; I must be reading minds 😂. More seriously, it simply means that you are doing a great job and that you are also an excellent guinea pig dad 🥰
Indeed, Stanley is a tough guy! I have never seen such an aggressive leader. Poor Cedric who leaves as soon as he sees him made me sad. It must be difficult to manage on a daily basis for you. I think you are doing a really great job because, despite Stanley's very difficult temperament, your little treasures are happy, it shows 😊.
Yes I have a soft spot for Cedric now after all that's happened. He was the only one brave enough to really stand up to Stanley initially, and it hasn't done him any good. I usually make sure any leftovers are thrown in his direction, so he doesn't miss out. Even at night he's reluctant to head back into the shed sometimes, until he knows that Stanley is safely out of the way somewhere. There was a period when he wanted to sleep outside, but he seems to be over that now.
@@PigCorner Poor Cedric was still traumatized; he is a very brave boy. I am happy that this adorable little guy is better now, and you helped him a lot with that. I can well imagine how worried you were! You are a great guinea pig dad 🥰
@ I think perhaps you're noticing things in the clips and from my comments which I may have missed myself. Maybe I'm too focussed on editing and creating a script to see the big picture here. Thank you.
It’s cute how the come to get their cucumber pieces and run away with them 😊
Haha! I just posted a very similar remark on your New Year's party video! Grabbing food and running off with it seems standard practice for them.
@PigCorner You did? That is funny! 😄
It looks wonderful! I would like to build some ramps and stairs and stuff for my pigs too. One day I will! 😊
Thank you! The great benefits I find are that it makes extra room for them as well as providing interest and intrigue to stimulate their minds.
Clever piggies, they worked it out!
I'm sure there's a great deal of intelligence in their little heads. I am amazed at how well they know their way around the area they have to explore and forage here. Interesting to see how they note changes in arrangements and store it for future use too!
It's really wonderful to see them frolicking happily in your garden 🥰. I will gradually familiarize myself and learn to recognize your little treasures. I think I understood that there are 2 mature boys that it is better not to mix with the 8 youngest. And Cédric seems to be the most shy? I really like your videos and your state of mind. Thank you 😊❤️
@@sylviegay75 Hi again Sylvie, yes there are two mature boys (Amos & Pike) who mainly live apart from the rest. It’s a shame, but that’s how it is. The 3 tri-coloured boys are just over one year old now, and the remaining 5 (Stanley and his 4 brothers/half brothers) are about 9 months old now. Cedric is very wary of Stanley - there is history between them. They both wanted to be boss of the herd. Cedric scored the first hit, taking a big chunk out of Stanley’s ear. Stanley got really mad, had to undergo rehab - living with Amos & Pike for a month or so, before being reintroduced to the group. He has settled down now, but did get his revenge on Cedric - injuring Cedric’s foot. So scores are settled. Stanley is now boss and Cedric is very reserved, or shy as you put it. The more you watch, the more you will see how Stanley is in charge of everything.
@@PigCorner Thank you so much Ash for your explanations 🙏. These moments were really very difficult for Cédric and Stanley 😟, but also for you; I imagine your worries during this long period! It must not always be easy to manage 10 boys and I congratulate you 😊! I had a total of 8 guinea pigs including only one girl; there were only two of them each time and everything went well, it was of course much simpler...
@@sylviegay75 Yes it was a difficult time, but I had some help and very good advice from a lady in Australia - JayDee the Obsessedpetlady, who is trained and works with behavioural aspects of animal care and training. She was a regular visitor here for a while, but has disappeared recently. I don't know why, and hope that she will be back soon. I understand you work (or worked?) with animals too? I saw that in a comment on another piggie channel yesterday I think. I would be interested to hear more?
@@PigCorner Thank goodness you had help during this very difficult time, and I hope this nice lady is doing well and will come back 🤞! I think I know where you read this comment, because I only mentioned it once 😄. A long time ago, I actually worked in an association for the protection of animals intended for consumption... I absolutely wanted to be able to help these poor animals because I felt that they were the ones who needed help the most. It was really very hard, and I was only able to stay there for 3 years.
@@sylviegay75I think I understand what you mean. I turned vegetarian a few years ago, partly for health reasons but also because I don’t like to think about animals ending up in the food chain for human consumption. Enough said.
Your garden looks absolutely lovely, the piggies must love running around it😍
@@AnimalFriends2012 Thank you. It’s mid winter here now so a bit damp and chilly, but they still enjoy running around. They live in a heated shed at night- which has been converted into a piggie hotel.
I find it fascinating that it works so well with so many boys together. In Sweden many guinea pig people say it’s almost impossible to keep more than two boys together.
It's pretty good, but not perfect by any means. The two older piggies - four and a half years old - have to be kept apart from the rest most of the time. I have seen a couple channels where dozens of boars live together happily. I expect you're familiar with them? Robert Grimes, in Australia, and Bosgoed in Netherlands. I haven't discovered their secret though - apart from plenty of space and food etc.
@PigCorner It’s not always perfect in my herd of girls an a neutered boy either. And that’s supposed to be the best way to keep piggies according to most of the Swedish guinea pig community. Yes! I know of those two channels, they are among the ones I subscribe to 😊
@piglypaws Sometimes I wonder if the community really knows what's best, especially some of the forums. Taking the comment below as an example, I checked whether piggies can have apple skins and the advice I read was that the skin and just beneath the skin contains some of the best nutrients/fibre for them. So I'm totally confused. I think you also mentioned something similar about conflicting advice somewhere? I think it might have been regardinng your home-made porridge, wasn't it?
@PigCorner Yes! It’s impossible to do right by everyone in the guinea pig community, there are so many conflicting “truths”. The porridge is definitely one of those “truths”. I don’t see why apple skins would be bad for them. If the apples are treated against insects perhaps? But organic apples or apples from your own garden, then I think the skin is good for guinea pigs.
This is perfect for me! It's pure joy to be able to watch your little treasures so happy in the garden 🥰
Thanks Sylvie. This clip wasn't very popular, as you can see!
@@PigCorner I see, indeed! I have very simple tastes, and admiring happy guinea pigs in a garden with birds singing suits me perfectly because it is simply natural and peaceful 😊. Good evening ❤️
@@sylviegay75 Merci, bonsoir!😃
Thank you so much for asking 🙏😊. I prefer what is easiest for you and most comfortable for your little treasures. Considering that it is winter, you may not be able to leave them outside. I am happy to get to know your channel ❤️
Hi Sylvie, and thank you for your interest. They are usually served their veg inside the shed but I take the opportunity to feed them outside whenever the weather is suitable. Their shed is heated at night, so no problem with them sleeping there. Even in mid-winter, as it is now, they choose to spend a fair bit of time outside foraging. I'm just mindful of the fact that the feeding in the shed clips all start to look a bit the same after a while, so I need to vary it to keep the viewers interested!
@@PigCorner Thank you very much for your answer 😊. We can see that your little treasures are very loved, spoiled and very happy. Personally, I can't get enough of seeing them always in the same environment as long as they are happy and comfortable, and your shed seems ideally set up for winter ! That's what delights me the most ; seeing them simply happy, and that's the case here 😃❤️
@@sylviegay75 Thanks Sylvie. That's what the channel started out as - just a showcase for the shed, but it wasn't attracting any views. I had to adapt it a bit before it started to become more visible. I am aware that the voiceover and occasional 'humour' might not be to everybody's taste though. Can't please all the people all the time unfortunately. And the channel wasn't my own idea either - it was suggested to me by the lady who bred five of the ten piggies. So she (Wendy) takes some of the credit. Started in early Sept, but just beginning to get somewhere now I hope! Wendy is mentioned occasionally in the storyline, if you follow along. Thanks again for your interest.
@@PigCorner Thank you very much for these details 🙏. It is true that unfortunately, people get bored quite quickly today... It must be difficult to adapt, but I think you are doing very well because you interact with your audience, and your channel has a bright future 😊❤️🍀
@ I think social media breeds adhd unfortunately, especially shorts, TikTok etc. Almost as if the software was designed that way. So having dabbled with shorts initially, I’m trying to keep away from them now. No point in having an audience with an attention span of 15s really when I’m making clips of 5m-10m. Eventually I may start removing the shorts from the channel. Hope this doesn’t alienate anyone reading though!
I'm the one who's been putting sprouts up for a few days 😂. I'm gradually getting to know your channel. I'm French, and even with the subtitled translation, it's not easy for me. But I love watching your guinea pigs; they look so happy in freedom when the weather permits, and also in the shed so well equipped for them 🥰! I was waiting a bit before asking you questions, but since I was spotted, I'm going to start 😅. You mainly have boys, is that it? And are there 10 of them?
Hi Sylvie, thank you so much. Yes there are ten altogether and they are all boys! The shed could probably accommodate two more I think, so there is a possibility the herd could increase to twelve. They love spending time outside though, so I like to think that they all sleep well at night after all the running around they do! Hopefully there is no squabbling at night, and they all settle down to sleep. I might start monitoring that actually, as I was gifted a security camera at Christmas - which I have not installed yet. If you live in France I'd love to know which region. I spent a few months in France in my youth, had two holidays there in the 1980's and then visited most of the main French ports during my time in the merchant navy. These days my only visits to France are courtesy of my flight simulator - which is my my other main hobby aside from the piggies.
@@PigCorner Thank you so much for your kind reply and valuable information 🙏. The security camera is a great gift, and indeed, when you have it installed in the hangar, you can rest assured! I read on our friend Piglypaws that you were in the Navy and that you used a flight simulator; it sounds so exciting 😃! I live in Paris, between the Montparnasse train station and the Eiffel Tower. I think it's great that you know some French ports! A city very dear to my heart is that of Pouliguen, as well as of course all the surrounding ports like La Baule, Pornichet, Le Croisic, La Turballe... Have you been to some ports in Loire-Atlantique? I only went to England once a long time ago, and I visited London and a bit of the surrounding countryside for a weekend 😊
@@sylviegay75 I am more than happy to share details of my visits to France, but in the comments section here is probably not the right place. I'll just say I have been to Paris a long time ago, and even spent a night sleeping underneath the Eiffel Tower! My email address is on the homepage if you want? Same regarding the flightsim setup! Yes I discovered Piglypaws a couple days ago - or the other way round I think. I especially liked the pigcation video they made. I try to take a little bit of inspiration from each of the other piggie channels I like, without simply copying ideas too much!
@@PigCorner This Pigcation video was really beautiful! Another one of their videos that is particularly beautiful is "A green day" from about 2 months ago. You are absolutely right, this is not the best place to talk about travel memories. But I don't see your address in your channel description, and nothing about Flightsim. Anyway, the important thing is that I get familiar with your lovely channel and get to know your precious little treasures better 🥰
@@sylviegay75 Apologies, it seems it is only visible when the homepage is viewed from a computer, not from a phone or tablet. I would type it out here, but YT has a habit of deleting comments which contains that sort of info.
First viewer often seems to leave a thumbs up. I’d love to know who that is? Thank you, whoever you are!
They are lucky guinea pigs to get to live in such a nice place!
Thank you for your kind words. I do wonder sometimes whether they appreciate how lucky they are. It would be fascinating to know what goes in their minds wouldn't it? There is a possibility I might be adding one or two more to the herd soon. Just weighing up whether I really have room!
Nice to see them out and about again. Lots of sights and sounds to stimulate their senses.
Thanks. There's another clip due out tomorrow where all ten are outside together. As always, it gets out of hand!
8:10 That little cough is so cute!
Hi, yeah he might have coughed a bit out there, a piece of the apple core maybe? I've always wondered what happens to the core, as they never seem to leave anything much.
@PigCorner Mine cough sometimes too, not related to any specific food 😊. I wouldn’t be surprised if they devour the whole apple core 😃. I am a little concerned about the apple seeds when I feed my pigs apple, so a usually don’t give them the core.
@piglypaws That's good advice, of course. I'll have to start doing that, and then skewer the apples sideways onto the chopsticks!
@@PigCorner I didn’t mean to criticize your way of doing it, I was only chatting away 😊
@ That's OK pp. I don't mind listening and happy to see another visitor here! Thank you for your interest. I'm sure we can all benefit from each other, as we have the same interests at heart.
I miss my Igor.
I'm sorry you have lost Igor. But an opportunity for another piggie to find their forever home maybe?
Do you prefer to see the boys in the shed or outside? Happy to adapt content to suit.
