Great Question. The cans brought in over 12 pounds of aluminum and about 5 pounds of slag. That would have brought about $7 to $8 and with the clean aluminum that I melted I have seen it selling for about $3 a pound on ebay as it is very clean now. If I sold the two bars I could get about $36 so it is better to melt but I like doing it for the videos as well. Thank you for the question.

Thank you for the comment and the motivation to keep enjoying TH-cam, Funny thing you mention an Air Chisel. I picked one up a while back just for this and I forget I have it every time I do this. I will use it in my next Motor tear down for sure. When my tank freezes up before I you the water for cooling I do have an adapter for the top and put my water up there to warm it up. Have thought of trying other things as it does burn for some time. If anyone has any suggestion for ideas to use the heat exhausting out of the top please let us know. Thanks again

Good day Bartolobot, The spray worked on the cast iron that i had used in the past that didn't work. The new mold had problems and I feel there was a coating I need to get off first. I highly recommend it and I just heard baby powder works as well. I will try that in the future. I have not tried it on the sand as I am starting to pour those more but so far no issues with the sand. Thanks for the comment

Thank you Lawnmowerman, The company I purchased the tongs I use from a company that recommended them and that was the only ones they had at the time for the size crucibles I use. I have been concerned and I have a better pair for the smaller crucibles. If you have a recommendation please let me know. I am always looking to improve. I also haven't used baby powder for the cast iron so I will try that. Thanks again.

It took a while and it still needs some finishing touches but I was also very fortunate to have some assistance from family but the day it started up was very memorable for sure.

Thank you Ralph for the insight. As I have been learning I have not heard of the use of graphite dust or talk. I have a video coming out today that I previously recorded but I have started looking already for graphite dust and I will be using it on my next pour using cast iron molds. I have subscribed to your page as it looks like you have done a lot already and plan to learn from you so thank you.

@@ourdreamourpurpose8293 Graphite dust is HIGHLY recommended when casting copper in steel or cast iron molds, as copper can fuse itself to the steel/iron. And then the mold gets destroyed... speaking from experience 😅

I will be using ours for decoration as they are solid and could be rolled like dice but they are not weighted perfectly as dice are. Hope you enjoyed the video
