Closed-In Wells Symposium
Overview
Reactivating Closed-In Wells: Unlocking Untapped Potential
Closed-in wells are more than dormant assets-they represent untapped opportunities that can significantly contribute to maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and improving well economics. However, reactivating these wells comes with unique challenges, including addressing subsurface uncertainties, managing surface bottlenecks, and optimizing intervention costs.
The 2025 Closed-In Wells Symposium is dedicated to advancing the knowledge, technologies, and strategies needed to overcome these challenges. This event provides a platform for reservoir engineers, production specialists, technology providers, and industry leaders to:
Explore innovative solutions for addressing surface and subsurface constraints.
Learn from successful case studies of well reactivation.
Discover cutting-edge tools and techniques designed to reduce costs and enhance performance.
By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, this symposium aims to drive collaboration, innovation, and actionable insights that unlock the true potential of closed-in wells.
Join us on June 25-26, 2025, as we delve into comprehensive discussions and shape the future of well reactivation. Let’s turn challenges into opportunities and dormant assets into valuable resources.

Thanks u are the best
Great
it's a good explanation about perforation. I like it.
Eu gostaria quê o áudio fossem traduzidos em português para uma melhor compreensão. Por favor obrigado. Bom dia.❤
Can you share this presentation?
Thank you for great presentation, where can I download it?
Perfect
Thank you very much for your time and info shared
1 more comment.. for SV you gave it low criticality.. but in fact it is high critical because while production if SV is passing you will end up with 1 barrier which is Tree cap.. high risk situation due to visible leak .. thank you
Thank you for great presentation... dhsv is not a barrier during flowing. But primary barrier if close.
good lecture
Very very good information sir Thank u sir
Study of Well Integrity Issues and Their Impact on Production Operations
Hello Mohamed, for any special content requirement, kindly feel free to contact us via Email or whatsapp (+14099345385)
Great information thanks
It will be more useful if you use both arabic and english language to be understood for every one but thanks a lot for this information.
Good Job... I want to know, during the operation of the well test eruptivity how does the collapse of the tubing occur and how to avoid it?
During a production test, the pressure inside he tubing is decreased as the flowing BHP is much lower most of time than the static one. On the other hand, the pressure on the annulus A side would continue to increase as long as the annulus is closed and this increase will be mainly due to thermal expansion which will increase by increasing flow rate (Higher flowing temperature profile). So here are some tips on how to keep operating in safe conditions during a well test: ~~ Keep monitoring the annulus pressure and bleed off if required when it reaches to a certain value below the MAASP (commonly 80 % of the MAASP would trigger the need for annulus pressure unloading) ~~The common practice is to design the tubing string with the assumption that the inside of the tubing is empty while calculating the MAASP according to tubing collapse. ~~ The actual brine weight inside the annulus should be the one used for MAASP calculation.
@@petroleumtrainingandconsul9300 Thank you!
This is a good course for new learners, but it could be delivered in just 20 minutes because everything is repeated 2-3 times during the presentation.
That is right and Yes, as stated, it is an introductory session not a course and it is intended for students and starters, that is why everything is repeated. Thanks for passing by.
Hello, thank you for the webinar. I have a question regarding the calculation. I did the calculation by my own , for the milltooth bit we have 3 trips in/ out so we have 30 x 3 hrs (if we ignore the additional time for the drilled part) and we have also the drilling time is the section length/ ROP , 2500/21 = 119.05hr so not bit time x 3. and for the PDC we need to add even the time needed to trip in then out so 71,4+30 hrs is the total time. So why did you ignore one trip in/out ? it's 15000 x 30 USD ? Thank you in advance
The first trip down to the hole and the last trip out of hole are common to all bits, so we exclude it from the calculations as common factor. Regarding the drilling time is the same as Ur calculations but in a different way for the sake of explaining but Ur way is the easy way for one already understand the concept. Thank you
@@mostafasharaf9738 got your point. Thanks a lot for your time and explanation 😊
In slide barrier philosophy B well has two active barriers one is SCSSV & other is X-mass tree master valve but fluid is not barrier if it is live. moreover, it will become primary barrier in killed condition.
