Permanent skill based visas to Australia generally have an age limit of 44. Once you turn 45 many of your permanent visa options finish. There are some very limited circumstances where permanent residence may be an option.

I've lived in Perth for 20 years, generally they are not that laid back or particularly friendly but the lifestyle is good. These people obviously mix with other ex pats. I felt safer on the DART than Transperth, any time of the day.

What a load of lies. The aussies are the least welcoming people I've ever met. The only reason why you think their nice is be cause you have never lived any where else apart from Ireland and oz. the amount of abuse I got every day on the building site in Perth from aussies who completely hate to see the Irish coming was unbelievable. Far better off working in Scotland or England
Danny Kelly sorry to hear your experience. Perth is a small place & narrow minded. It's a beautiful place a lot of the people who live there have there head up their arse. I live in vic colder than wa but you are treated equally, any of that crap that u mentioned in your comment those blokes would be kicked off site for bully / harassment in the work force. WA has it's own thing going on. The whole population of the state wouldn't even have half the population of sydney or melbourne and they act as if they are something special 😂
