Ive an experienced pilot, but i still got something from this video. Im going to try to flex my abs to hold my feet more still next time i fly. Thanks for the tip.
Indeed please the size of the used Descents? 12 or 15m
Putain ! Énorme ! Le gros kiff vos vidéos
I just got an 11M but only 60Kg so probably like a normal PG to me ha ha! We on the coast have had very strong winds all summer for the past 3 years so I'm set for it now! No rolls and fanciness like you guys tho ;)
What wind speed range is the 12m ridge soarable in?
C'est par ou ??? Tres jolis deco et tres belle ligne
Great video. Thanks from USA.
C’est une bonne aile? Mieux au mauvais comme autres mini wings? Merci en avant pour votre repond. 🙏🏻
sagesse, encore bravo!!!!
Combien de km/h de vent estimes-tu qu'il y avait ?
Coming back for 2020/21? Be good to see any wing updates
Size of the speedglider?
frein=brake , casser=break , pause=break , break=saloon car/sedan(etats unis) .merci pour le video
Excellent video, thanks allot 👍
👍👍👍👍👍
This is heaven. Damn I wish
Great video Love the music
Place ???
Which resort is this? :) Love your vids!
Looks like a great line! Can you tell me where this is? I can't seem to find the location "Mole".
location of opening shots? Sick video
Impressive
Wow! I can’t beleive the instant speed this wing puts out from raising the wing, to foot launch to warp speed! Anyone who owns this wing willing to give me some advice and input of their personal opinions? Looking at my next step up from the Susie 2 to a more advanced speed wing, and I am blown away by how quick this thing reaches air and ground speed! Cheers all 👍🏻
The difference from speed/proximity flying to soaring in this video testing these wings, is that as simple as adjusting the trim length? Towards the end of the vid there was several pilots flying opposed to speeding down the mountain, was that due to wing size, trim speed, or wind conditions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am looking to move into this new category of piloting on a mini wing, just shopping around looking for the right wing for my fly sites... Thanks 👍🏻
for soaring these are great i ve been using them for 5 years . . for speedriding you hookup the speed bar for extra flow and you will speeed .. compared to a speedwing they have more performance and go down less and more possibillitie for flying up .. my 55 kg insruuctor uses "the baby" for flying in thermique in the mauntains and top landings .. (he is rather nifty guy though)
the little clouds usually have higher glide ratio that other wings with comparable size. good for hills not as steep or dynamic soaring imo
Thanks guys, greatly appreciated 👊🏼
Nice ;)
Wow!
I'm currently on a Spitfire 1 size 13, down-grading to an 11 soon. Was curious to know if you have tested the Rapido compared to the RS?
Nice video!! Did you like the wing? Is it good as others mini-wings?
dingue la ressource à la fin!
Can you roll without weight shift? Yes you can. SHOULD you roll without any weight shift? No, you should not. Speedflyers are small paragliders and should be treated as such. Great idea to make an educational video about this but it is super important that the correct information is passed across. Rolling only on breaks can often cause the wing to spin. Also as mentioned in the video it is best learned at high altitude, with a reserve and ideally over water (with a rescue boat).
A roll is identical in nearly all ways to making a Loop on a paraglider. You can read the information for looping at: justacro.com/tricks/english/looping However, rolling with speedgliders is easier because the size of the canopy is smaller and the lines are shorter. As mentioned before, learn Rolling at high altitude, with a reserve parachute and ideally over water (with a rescue boat). In my mind there are 3 things required to make a safe roll. Energy, Timing and Input. ENERGY: Lots of energy is required to roll a speedglider safely. Rolling at slower speeds or from trimspeed is possible if you have a higher wingloading but is still not advisable. Energy is generated by previous wingovers or spiral as mentioned in the video above. TIMING: Rolling at the right time is very important. When you make turns (wingovers) or a spiral the wing will dive towards the ground as it is gaining energy. When you are learning to roll it is important to roll early, just before you reach the bottom of the dive ( just before the wing levels off again). This will mean that you have good energy and the roll will not need be completely over the wing, it will resemble more of a slightly offset fast spiral. As you have more experience with this learning roll you can experiment with rolling as you reach the bottom point of the dive (when the wing is level again) and this will give you a more vertical roll where you are directly over the wing. CAUTION: The most dangerous thing you you can do is to attempt a roll AFTER the wing has passed the bottom point of the dive and has started climbing (gaining altitude) again. If you try this the wing is already losing energy and at higher Angle of Attack meaning that the chance of spin or stall is much higher. INPUT: If you have correct Energy and Timing then the input required for a roll is not so large. You do not need to ROLL FAST, a slower roll will lose more height but it is almost impossible to fall into the canopy as long as you have energy and good timing. Weightshift should always be your main steering mechanism and is done (with most speedriding harnesses which are split leg) by pushing down significantly with your leg in the direction you wish to turn. If you are doing this with skis it is important to keep them side by side as one leg pushes down. AS the wing starts to roll on weightshift you use a small-medium break input in the same direction(all wings have different break lengths/inputs so you need to learn the stallpoint on your glider through Kiting the wing in the wind) to help complete the rotation. In the last part of the turn you can use a small outside break input to slow the rotation back into straight flight. There are different types of rolling techniques (pop roll, hesitation roll/dive roll) that differ from this but i believe this is the safest and easiest way for people to learn a roll. Anyone learning to roll should ideally learn through a trained instructor or very experienced mentors. Learning via TH-cam is generally asking for trouble. I have only added my opinion here as i would prefer that the correct information is passed along to those who refuse to seek out proper education. I am always open to corrections/suggestions from other experienced pilots who may have any advice on improving this instruction. As mentioned in this video SPEEDFLYING/RIDING is dangerous, take your time and you can enjoy it for the rest of your life! If you rush the learning phase then your life might not be so long.
Great channel. Really love your written reviews. Coming straight from a couple of seasons of skydiving and your reviews help me a lot with my purchase decisions. Blue skies!
