CVPR AI Art Gallery: 1 Billion Pixel Images
MMNN (Multi-Modal Neural Network) art: early 2023. 47,000 x 26,000 pixels.
This artwork represents the cutting edge of MMNN (Multi-Modal Neural Network) art at the end of 2022 and early 2023. A field that blends artificial intelligence with visual creativity. Through sopisticated text-to-image prompt engineering, it generates bespoke images on a grand scale, reaching resolutions of up to 1 billion pixels. These expansive works are suited to mural-sized applications, transcending traditional art boundaries.
As a artist, my journey with AI as a medium began in 2016, and by 2018, I was deeply involved in training Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). My clients engage me to create not only conceptual art but also to develop AI diffusion models. For this, I employ vision-enabled transformers and Large Language Models (LLMs) to craft the initial prompts. My process utilizes the richness of free and open-source code, incorporating finetuned LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) algorithms, ControlNet for nuanced guidance, and outpainting techniques for larger-than-life canvases. The artistry involves extensive coding, meticulous dataset curation, and a significant investment of time in perfecting upscale workflows.
My work has found its place in prestigious museums and on luxury items, evidencing its broad appeal and cultural significance. The models I develop are designed to not only capture the imagination of viewers but also to serve as a beacon of inspiration for future designers. Beyond the digital realm, I have a passion for bringing these creations into the physical world, printing them on canvas and personally crafting them into stretched canvases - a harmonious blend of modern technique and traditional presentation.

    You are not fine tuning - this is LoRa training.

    Thanks for sharing! I’ve been using SD for over a year and I’m still fascinated by it. I’m starting to look into fine tuning and creating LoRAs but I’m a bit overwhelmed. Do you recommend any resources or pathways to get started? Thanks!

      I would check out this blog and the script. It’s designed to be more user friendly. Advice on TH-cam is hit or miss. It’s all new, so everyone is still learning. Ive done hundreds of fine tunes and still get humbled at times. It’s kinda like baking a cake, ingredients and preparation matter most, then you bake it with a GPU. huggingface.co/blog/sdxl_lora_advanced_script

      Also, this guy is a real AI/ML engineer, his videos on dataset tagging, and Lora are good because he shows how to test and quantify results. I’ll also be dropping some code and a quick video on how to use it for displaying settings and results. www.youtube.com/@kasukanra

    Has nothing to do with your tablet being slow. It's your computer that does these computations. Apple iPad pro have specific dedicated hardware which does acceleration for these input drawing computations. Thats why it's fast on Apple ipad pro. If you get low latency RAM, CPU, Hard drive and GPU, it'll be much faster and low latency.

    So really the only difference in feel and not responsiveness, latency or parallax. I wonder how the new wacoms are. With wacom licensing their older technology to other companies the reason to get a cintiq seems to be diminishing.

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, really just get the platform and hardware you prefer. Difference in pen tech is nill. Although, the apple pencil is my least favorite stylus. Wacom EMR still reigns supreme for my hand. I really dont like the battery powered stylus. Its always empty. I wish apple would just buy Wacom. They make the best tablets (for light duty work). it would be wonderful to have EMR on a Ipad Pro.

      but keep in mind its much more complex computer than the ipad so there are always more bugs. its a pro device for people trained in digital software. not newb friendly. ipad is better for most people who just want to draw and paint simple illustrations.

      I see, thanks Dany, I really want it for zbrush, PS, SubstancePainter, and others, I want something let me advance my work everywhere, when I can't work at home with the PC... but knowing some people have problems with their MSP, that always stop me to buy it, not to mention that the customer service to deal with has some bad reputation hehehe. Well I hope to get a MSP without defects, by the way thank you for your time, have nice day.

    • @Visual-Synthesizer

      your welcome. ive had good experiences with wacom customer service. they always fix things within a couple weeks turn around. there are always problems with computers. its hard to say for sure if wacom is less reliable than apple or any other company. no one really knows. MSP seems to be the best for me so far. i had companion 1 and 2 also. The HP Z-book X2 looks like a powerhouse and might be more reliable. i would get it but i like the pro pen more than cheaper EMR solutions. I think machine with best warranty might be your best bet.

      Linda Cao I tuned off forced updates and make my machine only update when I want it to. Sometimes bugs or glitches happen , so it's wise to only update software between work projects. I also keep two workstations at all times because digital art hardware and software can brake or have bugs,

    Thank you for the video Dani. I can't find a good comparison between the 27qhd and the MobileStudio Pro 16. I understand they serve pretty different purposes. But obvious differences aside, which one do you recommend for someone who is going to work full time at his desk and has a good desktop computer? I am extremely worried about the 27qhd parallax and the fact that, in general, it has older hardware (pro pen 1, less screen resolution, etc.). That's why i'm considering on buying the MobileStudio Pro. I would be really grateful if you gave me your insight on this.

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well, allot of you concerns come down to personal preference. I personally can draw just fine on the cintiq 27, even with all the screen gap parallax. It is older hardware but i spend 95% of my time on the cintiq 27. its just much more comfortable to work on such a huge device. the 27 is extremely accurate, far more than the ipad pro because of the cursor. The trick to the 27 is to just train yourself to watch the cursor. once you do this there is no issue. The MSP16 is a great device though. the pen is defiantly better because there is a thinner screen. the pressure difference is noticeable, but the old pro pen was so good already. I prefer the feel of the MSP screen more than the cintiq 27, but the screen on the 27 is more clear than the MSP16 (it has a slight matte finish). i actually prefer the Art pen on my MSP16 even though it has less pressure levels. i like rotation effects more than the enhanced pressure curve of the pro pen 2. you get the same amount of parallax on the MSP16 with either pens. the resolution of the cintiq 27 is great. sure a upgrade would be nice, but its more than adequate for my daily needs. Both devices are great. you cant go wrong. I think the cintiq is a wise first purchase , as its likely to be more reliable than a mobile tablet like the MSP16. There also is a new 16" cintiq. i have not tried it so i cannot comment to how well it works. I am looking forward to Wacom refreshing the Cintiq 27" line, the new pro pen 2 is the best pen experience i have tried. I hope this helps!

    • @lucaslopez576
      @lucaslopez576 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have been extremely helpful Dani! Thanks a lot. I think I will give the 27qhd a shot since I'm upgrading from an Intuos 4 which has the old Grip Pen. So it is going to be a better experience regardless. I am from Argentina and the nibs for the Pro Pen 2 are almost impossible to find, so I better stick to the regular Pro Pen. Thanks a bunch Dani for taking the time to help me decide. Good luck from a fellow artist!

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its really easy to make a good living with Art or design. sure its harder to make a living doing comics or painting for fun (everyone wants to do this), but keep in mind that visual communication is a universal language. Everyone needs logos, websites, advertising illustration. I personally used to do advertising illustration and thats how i earned the money to buy this hardware. Now I focus more on teaching drawing at workshops and my own fine art practice. I find it more rewarding, but i still take freelance gigs sometimes because advertising pays so well.

      Lightwing thank you 😀 yeah, the iPad Pro gets pretty hot during summer months and the screen is not bright enough during daylight. Too much glare on the screen when it's bright out. It works great at night though. I'm still not super impressed by the Apple Pencil, but for the price it works well enough. It's like drawing on slick glass, I just carry water colors now for plein air. It's About the same weight and size as a iPad and you can't beat the feel of traditional media.

    Hey Dani, best video and comment so far for the MSP. I'm toss between getting the MSP or the 27qhd. Just wanted to know if you notice any big differences with MSP pen pressure being better and if it made a huge difference for you?

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ray Lee the 16" pen is slightly better for digital inking and less screen gap and parallax. I still prefer the bigger size of the 27 more than the better pen on the 16. But if parallax bugs you allot then the 16 would be a good choice. I've never been bugged by the parallax issue, I actually like it sometimes.

    Thanks much for your informative review. I got a mobilestudio 16 (i7) a couple of days ago, same as yours. It looks beautiful but the only thing is a constant fan noise, even when its idling and nothing is on the foreground, nothing super loud loud but still there is and you can hear it clearly. And of course it doubles or triples when PS is being used. I can convince myself when PS is running but my concern is why there is fan noise when NOTHING is running and all the apps are closed. Thought maybe it is the problem of this very device of mine, am not sure. I was just wondering if this is also the case with yours? I'd appreciate your response.

    I was saying a couple months ago that the iPad Pro had this incredible performance with Procreate. The last update from Apple has changed that. It's now suffering from lag in various ways, and also lag and freezes in Procreate. It's unfortunate, and it changes the math for me. The performance was the main attraction, but I gave up some great things in order to have it. I'm now thinking about selling it and going back to tablet PCs.

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      KuttyJoe wow that's unfortunate . How do you recreate the lag? I'm not seeing any on my Pro. The brushes I use are still lag free, sometimes slightly better than my workstation. The performance issues I get surround the touch/gesture/palm rejection. Well that and a lack of ram on the device but that's not Procreate fault.

    • @KuttyJoe
      @KuttyJoe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get lag when rotating the screen in Procreate. I get a freeze that lasts for 3 or 4 seconds when I make a brush adjustment and exit the brush menu. It doesn't exit. It just stays there for awhile before exiting. I also get lag when opening the brush settings. There's a pause. There's a lag when changing brush size or opacity. None of this was there before. I couldn't get that thing to lag no matter what I did. I get lag when scrolling some of the iPad settings, and also when browsing for images to import into my apps.

      What the iPad Pro/iOS lacks is flexibility, in terms of productivity. That is the thing that will likely not change or not change much. It's very likely to just have a faster processor, higher res screen, and more ram. But we won't see anything like a file browser.

      i would get the big cintiq, unless you spend tons of time mobile. the cintiq is more reliable than the mobile studio pro.

    Thanks for the feedback. I see the iPad Pro ideally as I imagine Apple does as a companion device to your Macintosh desktop or laptop where you have your Professional Applications installed, such as Adobe Photoshop or illustrator and probably a Wacom tablet, as well. I do see it becoming more powerful and capable, but remaining a mobile device powered by ARM processors which Apple designs and running some further evolution of the iOS mobile OS and not follow Microsoft's business model and philosophy and transform it into a Intel powered tablet or hybrid laptop or iMac with an adjustable stand like the Cintiq or Surface Studio, running a touch enabled version of Mac OS. I stand by my opinion, that, as a first generation product, the Apple Pencil is arguably, comparable to Wacom's digitizer tech in it's tablets and styluses.

      it certainly is a viable companion device, i like the ipad pro so much i bought both the 12.9 and the 10" ipad pro. im not sure if i agree with apples design philosophy and marketing. a device marketed for pro's while only running a mobile OS and apps makes little sense. but im pretty sure its not made for pro's anyway, at least not as a main device, in it current form. its a great companion to my Mobile Cintiq. the apple pencil is pretty good for a first gen stylus, bugs aside- its not bad. they do deserve credit and seem to get mostly praise for it. thankfully there are plenty of great tablets that run a full OS , its a great time to be a digital artist! thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      visionpersistance Apple can access all the professional art desktop programmes through astropad app, linking it to the computer and allowing it to be used like a cintiq

    Everyone's mileage may vary. I have a Wacom Cintiq 24HD but I prefer the Apple Pencil to Wacom's digitizer tech and most certainly to the Microsoft Surface product's NTrig technology as it most closely seems analogous, in my mind, to drawing or making marks with a pencil or pen or brush and in my opinion, if your hand is sure, why would you need a curser? For what it's worth, the Apple Pencil's latency, lag, pressure sensitivity, tilt and palm rejection are utilized differently in each iPad Pro application as these are are a result the software developers writing to the APIs in iOS. None of us know what the folks in Cupertino, California are going to announce, but I seriously doubt they will release a mobile tablet with a legacy Windows, Icon, Mouse, Pointer (WIMP) desktop interface and touch shoehorned in as they don't have to, since unlike Microsoft, they developed and pioneered a multitouch mobile computing Operating System (OS) from the bottom up and running on ARM processors, starting with the iPhone and Microsoft, unlike Apple and Google was late to that party.

      visionpersistance it might be easier to take the Apple Pencil serious if it was on a bigger device, but 13 inches is too small for me to want to work on all day, and lack of Pro software is a hurdle for some people. I mostly don't like the poor palm rejection and gesture glitches I still get on the Apple hardware. And the slick screen feels nothing like real media, I think Wacom feels more natural with the textured glass, I'm not bugged by the shape of any stylus, I'm more concerned with accuracy and quality of feel. The latency of Apple is on par with Wacom. My hand is very sure, but a cursor would be nice for precision design work. There is still slight parallax and screen gap on all drawing devices, despite the marketing hype. There is a slight offset at times on my iPad, without a cursor it lacks accuracy. But it's a moot point since there is no good design software on the iPad. The Apple Pencil is good enough for drawing , but lacks accuracy for inking or design work. The Pro pen 2 on Wacom MSP is a far better drawing experience than the Apple Pencil. I'm really looking forward to an updated cintiq 27. Wacom really improved EMR. Apple is great for the price point, I hope they do a screen cintiq mode on the iPad Pro 2, with color calibration ability. It would be a viable cheap Pro tool then.

      visionpersistance for me, Apple is better mobile tablet , inferior pen. Wacom msp is best pen , inferior mobile tablet. Everything is a trade off, just depends what u need and want to do. I'm blessed to have both devices so I can choose the right tool for the job. I love sketching or painting for fun on the iPad , because it's so light and easy to take everywhere. The Wacom though is much more powerful , so I can work on larger paintings , model or do design work anywhere in the world. I Can't do that on the iPad yet. Thanks for commenting!

    I'm sure in the Wacom settings, you can actually switch the screen to portrait?

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes it works its just awkward due to the aspect ration and some software does not scale well when you move to portrait. this is on area where the simple software of the ipad is better.

    Hey ... how is the screen on MSP16 compared to the one on the cintinq 27 ( i've noticed you've got one on your desk )? I also have a 27 cintiq and a companion 2 ... the screen on cintiq27 on displayport and 10bit/ch is AMAZING... great colors ... the companion 2 seems so washed out in terms of colors compared to the 27 cintiq ... cintiq27 should have 97%AdobeRGB and companion 2 has around 72%NTSC .. big difference .. i am thinking to upgrade to MSP16 but am unable to find one to test/ view ... any help would be appreciated ... Thanks

      the colors are good on the MSP 16. i think its really close to the cintiq 27 97%ARGB. The MSP actually has great pixel density since its 4k. its way better then the CC2 for sure. i had one of those for a while too. its a good upgrade if you have the cash. the MSP screen is not as clear as the cintiq 27, it has a slight matte finish. but its improved upon from the CC2. Hope this helps!

    Interesting video, but there's one thing about the Apple pencil and tablet that is incorrect. You stated that there was no way to tell where the pen was touching the screen with the Apple pencil as there was no icon such as a cross, dot or whatever that you would typically need with a Wacom Cintiq or any other such that has a problem with parallax. Apple doesn't support this as it simply isn't needed. There is no parallax! Try this. Use an inking pen and make a small black mark, then carefully try to make yet another mark directly into that same spot, then keep doing that. Now move your arm around to different positions using a writing hold, and a pastel or charcoal hold. This will totally mess up accuracy on a Cintiq as the software has no idea where the pen tip is located. You will find that each time you try to align a followup dot on each new dot that parallax creates, there will be yet another new dot adjacent to it; and on and on forever. On the Apple tablet this is no problem at all as every mark sits exactly where you put it. Try drawing a line and then follow it repeatedly with your hand/arm moving around and you will find the pen tip to be exactly on the spot----unless you're wiggling of course. I've gotten rid of the Cintiq and a Huion with parallax problems as it just drove me nuts to work with. So yes, you're correct that there is no pen icon to watch when drawing with the Apple pencil, but only because the pen accuracy is so spot on that one isn't needed. It's truly like drawing with a real pencil where there is no such thing as parallax. If Apple ever decides to get into the tablet business and build something as good as the iPad Pro but in a much larger size they can count on my money! Thanks for the video.

      gotta disagree, there is a offset. i go back and forth between the ipad pro and Wacom cintiq hardware every day. i often wish for a cursor with my apple pencil. i struggle sometimes to get a properly placed line. i even got a master draftsman (anatomy teacher from AAU) to try it out and he noticed the lack of accuracy. anytime there is a screen there will be a gap, and depending on where you are sitting it becomes parallax. for some styles like painting or more value based styles you might not notice. bit for anything linear like ink , i really miss a floating curser. the apple pencil is just not as accurate as the wacom stylus, especially the new Pro Pen 2. im just nit picking, the apple pencil is very nice, especially for the price. one can adapt to anything given enough time. in hindsight it was silly to compare a consumer oriented tablet to a professional workstation.

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      i just tried your test, do you have a newer cintiq? its dead spot on every time (because- cursor). there is no ambiguity of start point because of the precision cursor. the apple pencil is the one that is less accurate. its shaped like a pencil but does not feel like the ones i use everyday. what you are describing is a old issue with the older cintiq's. the MSP has much less screen gap like the ipad. so the cursor offset you are describing is gone. i do hope apple makes a drawing tablet thats big enough for professionals. that would be great and drive wacom to be more competitive. but i would miss rotation and the more analogue feel of wacom EMR. there is just something about the apple pencil that feels off. maybe its just the slick glass but i find myself using undo more with my apple pencil than my cintiq hardware. gotta give apple credit, for a first gen product at such a low price point the pencil and ipad pro is a great solution. i just wish it had more ram and ran OSx without crappy hacks like astropad.

      Ted johnson Spot on. People have been damning the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil with faint praise. As a first generation product, it is arguably comparable to the Wacom Cintiq. I would personally suggest it is better in my opinion, but, this could be a subjective.

    • @Visual-Synthesizer
      @Visual-Synthesizer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      true true. its does seem to be a bit subjective. perhaps similar to how fine artists each prefer different mediums, paints or paintbrushes. generally though, more quality products yield better results. i always to to buy the best paints and brushes too. maybe its my own cognitive bias, but i just dont get the quality feel on the ipad i am accustomed to on my cintiq hardware, and there are so many missing features i value. Wacom is far from perfect, so i welcome the competition gladly. they sure stepped it up with the new Pro pen 2.
