The dog is laying on that couch as if to see, "WHEW! We worked so HARD on this! I need a breather." 🤣 Nice work. I wanted to know how to refinish veneer.
Nice video! I have a veneer table where the veneer has chipped off a bit in a few places. I was thinking to seal it somehow to prevent further chips. What can I use?
Really without seeing it, the best thing I can think of is a thin coat of clear epoxy. It will be like putting a thin layer of clear plastic on it. You can buy a small kit at your local home goods store like Home Depot. I have had good results with a brand called Famowood.
I just bought a used dining room set. It was not until it was actually in place in my dining room that I noticed the veneered top had raised grain in places. It needs polyurethane in future for protection against water damage, but following your directions, I believe that now I can refinish safely. Thanks for the info!
No, he didn't. He didn't sand well enough between coats because that finish is way to bumpy. Using steel wool between coats will give you a really smooth finish, just be sure to wipe it off really well.
If I took my orbital sander with an 80 grit paper- would help me remove the stain from a wood veneer without destroying it? I don't have a wood cabinet scrapper
I would be hesitant to use 80 grit on veneer. You could try oxalic acid and but put it all over the top and wipe down with water after the suggested amount of time.
Nice job!
I'm gooning to toy chica
I love this video hope you can make more videos so I can goon to them as well
I be gooning to this
I have a mirror dresser that's more then 80 years old
Great to see this table renewed. It is a very nice table.
Card scraper?
80-grit on veneer? Brave.
Scraping with the grain will reduce tear-out.
Thanks, very informative

80 grit on veneer...😳🙈
shout out to the dog taking a leak in the background
Nice job
You missed a real opportunity to show how your patch looked before and after close up.
When that dog heard he was using 80 grit on a veneer, he was all, “I’m outta here.”

@@hswoodshopteachermr.benede9141 Thank you! I’ll try that!
Super video. I learned alot and I really appreciate your sharing the info.
I’m glad you liked it. It was my first video and from the feedback, perhaps I will make more on topics people would like help with.
This is good for low value pieces. Do not do this on antiques!

You think you can help me out .. i have a quick question I'm regard of my table
Nice job and result. Why spray urethane instead of liquid? Also - do you steel wool between urethane coats?

Any update? Lol
@@Greenfrom3 I ended up using a chemical stripper and skipped the sander all together. Any light sanding I did by hand.

Please use a mask and goggles when spraying. Caution for women during pregnancy.
Very informative and well done!
