my bushing is fine i think mine is detached from the other side because i hear a clicking noise when i click the button on the shifter either way i dont know i got lucky because it happened when i parked in my driveway so it got stuck in park.

Lifesaver. Thank you. Just for emergencies, you can put the shift cable back on. It may work for an emergency situation. If not, you have to manually shift the gear by moving the elbow-shaped thing (under the battery) forward or backward to shift the gear. Most importantly, if you have a dart, go to the Dodge dealer. This is a recall #v34. They will take care of it. If you have to deal with it by yourself like the previous comment "Dorman #14055 (transparent one. Do not put it on the male part (you will find it hard to remove), before you put in the female part(the ring at the end of the cable). You may need to modify a head of it to make it in.)" worked in my dart.
