Ampeg SVT Classic - Broken and consistent issues
Bought In 2014 loud Vietnam made era SVT head - sounds phenomenal but literally breaks down every year - constantly blows tubes and Direct Out goes out - just got repaired and retubed in April was going to play at recent big gig coming up. Anyone else have constant issues with these heads? I truly feel the amp needs boards after taking it to at least 4 different techs or just a full on replacement. Thanks

Ampeg SVT-CL And Tech 21 Sansamp RBI Rig
มุมมอง 13K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Hey everyone, I decided to post a video of my bass rig to show bassplayers the wonderful power and tone of the all 300 all Tube SVT-CL There are no good videos showing the clarity and thunderous lows this amp produces, ALSO Whats helping me give that tight, punchy and ringy tone is the Tech 21 Sansamp RBI. Combine these two and you will have the best bass tone ever! Bass: Fender Precision Speci...
yo homie, i’m tryna run this exact same setup. could you help me out with the signal chain, do i come out the svt into the sans amp then into a cab ? any clarity would help out a lot
Did you try to replace the preamp tubes?
@@amulako yes all new power and pre amp tubes, thanks
Who’s the head case made by?
I’m not sure it’s stored away at my parents basement until I get a house haha you can find these easy off eBay tho
I have the BDDI and usually just run that into my Micro Ampeg effects return. Sounds fantastic. I acquired the RBI in a trade so I may replace the BDDI live with the RBI.
Yeah the RBI really has amazing range, I now run it as a more of a boost for either my SVT-CL or 7pro. Glad you found a great tone!
Check out the rig in our music video! th-cam.com/video/Mn98xOeIlwg/w-d-xo.html
Sounds trebley and thin. How about some bass. What gauge strings are you using ... 30~80?
Very true Carl, I prefer a high end attack/driving bass sound, the audio did not record bass very well but I assure you my sound has plenty of low end, as for strings I use Ernie Ball Super Slinky 45-100.
Sounds amazing. I run a 4 pro and the pedal Sansamp but eventually want to go this route. Are you running a pedal board? If so what is your signal chain?
Thanks man! Nope no pedal board for my bass rig yet! But my signal chain in this video was SVT-CL<Sansamp RBI<Boss TU-100 Stage tuner<Line 6G90 Wireless. Unfortunately the sans-amp was giving me some audio issues at some shows So I took it out of the rack (random terrible buzzing sound need to send it in for repair its an older model from 2001) The 4 pro is amazing though I love the on-board compressor/equalizer and how its rack-mountable.
