I love a good flashback! When used right, its an amazing literary tool ❤

I don't mind reading flashbacks personally (especially in literary fiction, most historical novels). In my own writing for now, I do prefer to lean more on weaving in memories when a story-relevant person, place, or thing a character comes across reminds them of that memory in the moment. Then, I'll give that memory like a paragraph or two depending on importance. I also do like to use what could be flashbacks as conversations between characters for some bonding. Back to reading though, I haven't come across any recent reads where the flashbacks pulled me out if they were included tbh.

You've definitely planned the book much better than I did 😁 I'm already 3/4th the way through with my first draft and I did most of the planning in my head.
