First one showed missing parts. Second one was complete. It's a working bench grinder th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxC8HPnl24fu0XhMU_nbmWNEUoK1RMHXk . One thing I like alot is that it's surprisingly quiet. I don't feel like I'm sacrificing any rpms or power for the quietness either. All in all it's a very nice machine. No vibration whatsoever.

here is a question. So you use that combo stone to change the roughness of the wheel. So say you start with the wheel rough, grind your knife, then you take the fine side of the stone and re condition the tormek wheel, and go back to work. Well now that you have done this, the wheel is going to be smaller by some tiny tiny amount, now your angle is off!

I have a towel next to my lathe, place your tool down on it BINGO! no sudden impact on the blade. would drop your kid on to a floor,so why drop your sharpened edges on to a hard surface.Chisels, metal lathe cutting tools? All the same.

@7199715 They're not. You just need to know where to buy your stuff! Or, learn to make your own! I made copies of all the "Easy Wood Tools" carbide turning tools for less than $20 each. Message me, I'll tell you how! Or, for a very fair price, I will sell you a set already made. So far, I've had excellent responses from others who bought my tools. And I make more than just the carbide insert tools too.

Got a tormek, but never used it for turning tools, only woodcarving. i find a very quick hit on an ordinary grindstone and its done. Sure it gets a much better edge, but 90% of my work requires an extremly fast response. Using jigs is great, but there is nothing that is as good as experience - if you only use jogs you will never get that. There is sooo much more to woodturning than turning bowls.
