Epic trip Anna, I'm sure your videos inspire many people to get out on their bikes & explore the country.
@@Free_Ranger_CT110 Yes it was pretty good but after starting by going through the outback it all seems pretty easy after that. Hoping to get to Adelaide and then the Flinders Ranges and up to Birdsville next year. The only limit to trip distance on the postie is the back tire wearing away I have found.
@@fantasticanna2512 yeah I found those 'trail claw' tyres don't last very long, I bought some cheap CST road tyres for $30 each & although not very good on dirt, they lasted twice as long as the trail tyres. All the best with your trips. My planned Birdsville trip was canned earlier due to heart probs & hospital stay.
@@Free_Ranger_CT110 I had bad heart problems after the covid vaccine. Couldn't do any riding for a year. Sorry to hear. I figure I have to get into this now because you don't know what the future holds, health or society wise.
@@fantasticanna2512 absolutely, my little Honda & getting out into nature helped keep me sane during the past few crazy years. Sorry to hear about your adverse reaction to the jab.
Hi Anna , that became interesting after Wombeyan falls - you don't need a bigger bike for that sort of track - I enjoyed the trip, but before there I guess that machine was trying pretty hard ( but then I suspect you don't 'wring it right out') (I guess that little battler was relieved that you didn't find any sand dunes this time.😊 Thanks for the trip!
@@rond5323 It's a fun bike and I can get it out of any problem by myself. Also what I really like is it feels like you are having an adventure with the bare minimum, close to being on a horse. You see these bikes and it's like just add a bit more and you've got a car. I had a Ducati 748, it was exhilarating but not really fun like this. She's pretty revvved out but these Honda's are unstoppable. I had an XR80 as my first bike 40 years ago. It was still going strong 30 years ago when my brother sold it.
That old church you stopped at, was beautiful!
@@TheSlab24 Yes I really wished I got off and looked in the window
Great work Anna ! I've done similar trips in the outback many years ago and I find your footage nostalgic !
@@charlahanger Glad you like it.
Nice work Anna, popped a wheelie of victory after :-)
@@Wadaryu1000 tried to. Unusual power delivery on this bike which is great for hill climbs but does not make good power for doing wheelies.
Great to see you're out on another adventure. Southern Highlands on your route is my stomping ground, beautiful area. Terrific road and spirited riding, awesome!
Awesome adventure.... I love the song, too..
You should've just used the postie bike to winch em up
Lol.
such a tidy setup you got there. good stuff!
Looks like a fantastic trip and great bike choice. I love the smaller bikes in the outback. Don't need to go fast to enjoy this part of the country. I met two guys who rode them across the Simpson Desert. Said they had to use their legs to help them make it up the larger dunes but still made it and were all smiles at the end.
@@dune7824 would love to do the Simpson. I have taken the stock tyres off and put knobbies on. Going to try and come up through the Flinders Ranges and try her on Big Red again. I've seen guys do it on posties on you tube but the weren't solo. When you load up with all your gear she just will not go up hills and there is no clutch to feather.
that poor little bike of yours is working hard to keep up ther speed. You must be ringing its neck out .
@@marksteele4364 yes she's working but she's a Honda and she can handle it.
Where about is this ?
@@peterbowley6484 about 60-70km off Botany Bay
Good on you. I hope you enjoy your journey .... wherever it might take you ... and the freedom and wide open spaces of our great country. Watch out for the road trains and, with summer on the way, keep hydrated. 😊 (By the by, there's a funny sound in your video ... perhaps your breathing or the microphone rubbing against something).
@@macalacalan1175 yes I have the gopro on the front of the helmet with a big spring-loaded clamp and it's rubbing on the jacket.
Love this , wish I had the courage to do the same.
I found your channel the other day and added , well done
👍🏆🦘 ☮️
I’ve done a couple of rides on a 110 for a few 100kms.. well done doing what you’re doing! 😊😊
Hey! My name is Brenton too ;) Don't see that alot.
Great watch and timely, in heading through moree on way to st George and was considering cunanulla, reckon I'll give it a go👍🚴 Cheers
@@P.Ttrying It seemed a nice town. Got in very late so no footage of it sadly, was trying to beat the sun going down. Nice pub there with cabins out the back.
@@fantasticanna2512 awesome thanks 👍 looking forward to seeing the town, PS in a rain bomb ATM outside of Moree ☹️🌧️ 🚴☮️
Hope you had a great trip, the camp at Quilpie, was that a bush camp just outside of town? I think I camped there last year on my way home to Toowoomba.
@@Free_Ranger_CT110 It was probably some farmers property. Just saw a bit of a track in off the road and had to take it as it was getting dark and just missed a wallaby minutes before. It's just before Quilpie. Was a pretty good spot.

impressive trip so far by yourself & on the Postie bike ! - What type of drone are you using & how r u recharging the batteries?
@@paulzeleny4879 I'm using the DJI magic air. It's a few years old now. I have 2 usb ports I put on the bike. The drone only charges on 240v but I have 3 batteries.
Have been following this adventure, love it out there but a bit wet out there now ;)
I saw a tree!
Loved this! Always wanted to do Birdsville and see Big Red - great footage and rocking tune, terrific!
well one things for sure Anna you have plenty of time to think, ponder and navel gaze as you ride those long straight featureless outback roads ....been there done that 🙂
@@marksteele4364 yes similar to being out at sea. I like it.
Ooop sorry free ranger i left my comment on yours. Bugga.😮 😣Doh
That's OK, I'm sure Anna will see it.
@@Free_Ranger_CT110 thanks👍 all the best for your future endeavours 🏆 Peace harmony and gratitude ☮️🦘🚴
Are you planning your next adventure?
@@Free_Ranger_CT110 Yes, the Bridle Track near Bathurst in October.
@@fantasticanna2512 not heard of that, I'm hoping to head out soon, just chain & sprox & tyres etc to fit beforehand.
Fantastic watch thankyou 😊 PS I did the bridle track (Hill End to Bathurst return) it was a brutal slog on the pushbike and Hawkins hill just out of Hill End is something special (ouch). You'll love the accomplishment 🏆🏆🏆 I leave in three days for Winton , I dare say I'll be rewatching your vids again. With deepest gratitude ☮️
@@P.Ttrying If the hills are too steep I just have to run alongside and push.
Would have made for some awesome droneshots riding along those long straight rods.
@@3goldfinger Yes. Unfortunately I had exceeded my leave at work and was trying to get back as soon as possible so no stopping to put up drones sadly.
@@fantasticanna2512 next time.
Nice work Anna, great solo effort!
Inspiring again! You must have good legs lady!
@@rond5323 Haha. No I didn't have to push with my feet much. Unfortunately every time I did I had the camera going when it stopped on dunes and all times she just sailed over the dune the camera was off.
Ah, that's a relief! I suppose you know you're you are teaching some us, that if you have time, a huge adventure doesn't need to be very expensive! A comfortable, expensive adventure is a bit fake! Thanks!
@@rond5323 100%. I haved backpacked through Europe and Russia. Staying in hostels with local people. You see people sitting in 5 star resorts and it's like you have been to club med, not distant country
Good drone footage Fantastic Anna. 👏
That was great! From the shot angles to the music choice.
Imagine a tracker identifying different animal tracks in the sand... Camel Dingo Oh look, postie bike! 🤣
Haha. That happened a few times. Twice groups of men on big bikes overtook me and said we could see your tyre marks and tell there was a postie bike in front of us. It happened on Arrabury Rd and Strzelecki Track. The guys on Strzelecki said I was using every bit of road. I said yes I was trying to find the firmest sand. They said lean back and put the power down on sand. I have 8 hp going through a centrifical clutch. What power?
@@fantasticanna2512 😁 the give-away is the footprints on either side of the tyre track! 🤓
@@garrygraham I only had to do that at on steep hills when she stopped. If the sand was really powdery and deep sometimes I dragged my feet either side like training wheels.
@@fantasticanna2512 🛵
It's difficult to get a scale of just how big Australia is and the contrast between the reds and blues and the night sky in the desert along with the sunrises and sun sets. awesome in every respect.
why would you????
1. It's more fun riding a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. 2. 10k total setup and you can go more places than +100k 4wd on 2.5l/100km. 3. Uninterrupted view if you have the right helmet. 4. It's a challenge.
Ohh 😯 new subscriber 🎉
Well fantastic Anna, this was a fantastic watch🏆💪☮️ Even though I'm a bikepacker (emtb) I'm going through this exact area over the coming months. Thankyou for taking the time to shoot this. Watched in gratitude 🦘 P.T🦘
Thank you. I watched bikepackers in preparation. Also hikers for ultralight equipment. When people said I was mad I said yes but I'm in the lobby of the mad house, near the entry with my name in pen above my bed. There are people who do it on bicycles, they have their own room with bathroom upstairs with a name plate on the door at the madhouse. Good luck and respect.
Fabulous footage of that rich blue sky and clouds heading back into Betoota.
Yes you get the sense that you are travelling across the surface of a planet out there. Which puts things into perspective in your mind.
Luv the closing drone shot with you riding towards the horizon.
Yes I hoped it world go for longer but the drone saw a tree that was more interesting and tracked that instead.
Yeah, fantastic enough Anna! Thanks for the drone shots, and thanks for the lack of music!
Do you have any spare bits and pieces for the bike? Actually a good idea posting videos for a safety aspect. Maybe you should put co-ordinates as well, Just in case.
Just tyre tubes and cable ties. Care 300ml of oil which I used up on this trip and had to buy more. So over this trip she burnt 600ml of oil but I am reliably informed that is normal for the bike and conditions which is fully pinned for 4000km
Good going on a Postie Bike, slow & steady finishes the ride however I'd still take my KTM690 on those far off Outback trails.
good job mate!
I hope you carry enough fuel, how much do you carry? Got a few nice drone shots. Do you have a 12v charger for the drone so you can charge on the go.
I have enough fuel to do about 800km. I have a USB Charger but my drone can't charge with that. I have 3 batteries and just charge when I stay in accommodation.
Well, the eastern side of the Simpson seems to begin very suddenly. I'm looking forward to getting there one day.
Yes.looks very different. The defining feature of a pure desert seems to be there is no more cows.
You said you were going to do it & now you have, go girl!
Haha. Yep. Done. Now I want to do it again. I had the stock roadish tyres on but I've put trail claw on now for the next one.
@@fantasticanna2512 I've got two new trail claw tyres to fit to my bike before my next trip hopefully soon
Good thing you didn't attemt the crossing you'd have to paddle up 1200 of those dam sand dunes but love your tenacity and determination. well done young lady. cheers
I really wanted to get up Big Red, got up Little Big Red. Planning to come up from the Flinders Ranges next year for a rematch with Big Red.
@@fantasticanna2512 I'll be doing the longest shortcut next year Bris to Perth then the shortcut from Perth to Cooktown via the middle..... my last big adventure before life catches up with me. Just have to work out the ideal time. thanks for the Windy App , I'll use that. Good luck for next year but I'm sure you'll succeed. cheers
Thanks for sharing. Needs courage to ride on Postie bike on dirt road. Loved seeing emu running by...
Thanks Millhouse. ❤
