I just purchesd a 97 DR350SE. I bought it with a broken shift drum screw and it was taken apart. I didn't know if it ran or not. just rolled the dice on it. I just got it running added a kickstart to it. just incase the starter or battery ever goes out. Keep it up! love how you are diving into getting here to stop smoking. it fired it right up in your first video. love it . will. be following you and your progress. cheers
On my DR, I installed a used KTM sx-f exhaust. (Ebay $40) Looks slick, and sounds sweet..used same header, just downsized exhaust inlet..

@@thejacksonbentleyfully recommend it for any DR owners. Haven't seen any aftermarket exhaust that looks this good plus sound; the exhaust end even matches the angle of the rear plastic. If u want a photo of it let me know.

I live in Mexico and have a DR350 and a YZ250f....i love the DR. Its my main goto bike for all trails. I get offers all the time for it. Lol

Not sure if you’ve found an exhaust yet but those (Cobra)?Dominator exhausts have been popping up in my searches. Budget options are limited for these and even more so for the DR250 like I have. My 250 is in way worse shape with a cooked head from the PO but it was a cheap pickup. Hype to see more!
@@jasonjavelin good for you for grabbing one of these up. A 250 would probably fit my height and weight a little better and I’ve always wanted to try one out. Good find! And thanks for the exhaust advice I’ll look that up soon
The Dominator exhausts are made in my country-Poland and they are great quality! Highly recommend, lots of my buddies have them on their bikes.
A couple minor delays later and I’m over a month into building this thing 😅 we’ll get there soon friends

I just picked up my DR350 2 days ago! Owner had it restored and then let it sit for almost 3 years. Need less to say, tank rust is my first obstacle.. I’m planning basically the same for mine as you are for yours-the only difference is my plans are for the desert and getting into more remote spots to metal detect!

@@thejacksonbentley lol! I'm actually not either. I live in Texas but I go to Arizona frequently to prospect in the mountains. I've been bumming off of my buddies who have extra ATVs, but situations change and now I find myself needing something to ride when I'm out there. I don't think I would ride it all the way out there, probably just carry it in my truck, but I definitely want to set the bike up to carry as much gear as possible for both prospecting and whatever trips I might cook up here at home. And of course make it look cool too, lol!

I used to have one. I put too much money into it before I got a more modern bike that does a lot better. 441 big bore, 36mm Mikuni carb and white bros pipe, rebuilt shock and forks. Ran really strong but still outdated.
@@proadymx1 the modern bike are so nice. I’d really like to get a yz at some point…
I used to have a Dr350..excellent bikes, 6 speed box, Air cooled...much better in my opinion the a DRZ... You will Love this bike once you have it dialed in.....

@@thejacksonbentley The DRz replaced the dr350...it is a 4 stroke bike...but water cooled and a 5 speed ger box....also has a taller seat height...In my opinion the dr350 is a better bike....

Good luck man I am rebuilding the motor on my XT600 almost zero experience building motors but excited to get it done. Last year I put progressive springs in the fork, did seals, and some fresh oil. Not sure they ever changed it!
