Watering Method For Newly Planted Trees Large Trees and Palms Planted and Guaranteed, #garden
Placing a water reservoir around a newly planted tree with the excess dirt from the whole for watering purposes is what we do with every tree we plant.
We now for a fee, offer putting pine straw and mulch to hold that dirt in place, and give the ground around the tree an esthetically pleasing look.

I remember when we had a lot of those tree farms in Miami. One of the first jobs I had was planting trees and most were palms. We used to remove them with a skid steer and use it to auger holes and plant. Loved the work!

My neighbors all cut oak trees planted in the 1950’s because they don’t want to rake leaves. They then complained their grass burns and their house is hotter. I literally laughed in their face. We don’t have one large mature tree on the block it looks ridiculous for a development build in 1955.
Disgusting. Those trees are home to whole ecosystems. If it’s going to fall on the house then maybe, but branches can be trimmed.
