@@marucsbrittain5144 Blessings Marcus! When we wear liturgical vestments they begin with a white sticharion (robe.) In everyday dress we wear the black cassock or black riassa as a sign of sobriety, somberness, and death of the passions. The white robe in Revelations is something for all to strive for.

Beautiful. But ofcourse the heart is most important.🤍Do we keep the temple and the altar in the heart clean? One person can clumsily try to be religious but in the process do it 'all wrong', according to rules and tradition. Even when making the sign of the cross. But if the heart shines with purity, love and reverence for God that will be more then acceptable to our Lord.✨Whereas another person can do everything 'perfectly' according to the rules and tradition, but if the heart becomes lukewarm, void of reverance, love and true humility..Well..There rests a task to fervently pray to God to ignite the heart with the fire of the Holy Spirit.🕊️We are supposed to burn with a longing and love for God always, because we are all called to be saints. Nothing less! Focus then on serving the Lord and neighbour with love and utter humility and God Himself with through His Holy Spirit show you everything He wants you to do for yourself to be made holy. God ofcourse does not need anything we can't help but love Him completely out of our own free will. To burn like a lamp on the hill with this Love that can not be hidden✨🙂Blessed be His Holy Name forever.🙏🏻✝️☦️

@@NoGreaterLove_3 Blessings! Yes the heart is completely important. Doing things only with the precision of a chemistry experiment doesn’t guarantee anything. But if the heart is there then doing things carefully and reverently becomes an expression of that love. It is a small ritual that shows this love to ourselves, those who might observe, and most importantly the Trinity whose blessings we invoke!

I am Catholic, but I admire Orthodoxy for its fidelity to the Tradition of the Church of the first centuries and conscientious celebration of the Eucharist. I also like that the Orthodox focus on life and Resurrection, which is reflected in the rounded ends of the arms of the cross. Greetings from Poland and Merry Christmas in the Eastern Rite!

Greetings your eminence, I have a question regarding baptism and I understand that this may be slightly hard to convey via comments. But on the topic of Dismas, the Lord tells him that he will be in heaven. So his salvation is promised to him, but to my knowledge Dismas was not baptized. With this in mind my main question is baptism a necessity for our salvation?

+ Hello Bishop Raphael, I am currently a member of the "Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints", but I feel a very strong pull towards orthodoxy. I feel a spiritual thirst to a degree that I've never felt before. Even though my mind struggles to comprehend all of Orthodoxy's teachings, I have a strong desire to be Orthodox. It's like a divine spiritual pull that I cannot describe, nor do I understand these feelings, but the need to return home is real, however, I can feel the demons fighting my prayers because every time I try to pray to the trinity (something the LDS church doesn't believe in), it's like my mind is forcefully blocked by an unknown evil force, and It pulls me back into sin. It is hard for me because there is no orthodox church in my vicinity, and I know many others face the same reality. I humbly ask of you to keep us in your prayers. God bless!

One of the many mistaken notions that people have about Orthodoxy - we do not worship Theotokos (Mother of God /Virgin Mary) instead we venerate her. You could say she is the mother of the Christ within us. There are various ways but I will give you one that is simple. Look up icons of "Hodegetria." This is her under her title of "she who points the way." Find one of them that attracts you. Print it. Put a tea light in front of her and simply with all reverence ask for her guidance. If you do something as simple as this in your own way, with true and pure desire, you will see what can happen. Be opened to it. Look up svspress.com, order an Orthodox study Bible. I also suggest "The Orthodox Church" by Timothy Ware, available through Amazon.
