I just found my 6309 that was in my drawer for over 40 years with original band. I went on TH-cam just now and discovered that people collect them. Who knew? I need to get it serviced now and need to make sure nobody steals any of the original parts off it when bringing it in for service.

Beautiful watch, I'm torn between this and the black GMT. I'd like to have a GMT function, but also like the green bezel and dial (as opposed to the green and black). I suppose I'll hold off buying the beautiful green one and get the GMT, since it's more practical for me currently.

Two things worth fixing: the “3”is smaller than the other numbers. The second hand is on the small dial, yet, the tick marks for the large sweep second hand remain on the outside edge of the dial. No reason for them to be there. I own a d am presently wearing the NavyPioneer with the large second hand. It os a better looking version. The lugs which hold the spring pins for the strap are 22 mm not 20 mm, if you put a 20 mm strap on it, there is sideways play, and you will pop a pin. Also I bent these lugs, which are attached to the case, and had to get it repaired. Now I have a 22mm NATO strap on it and all is well, but it was not set up well when I bought it. It keeps good time and is sealed from humidity so does not fog up when sailing, which killed my Tissot. Summary: get the large second hand, toss their strap. Then-it is a great watch.

JD are the OGs of Swiss Watches. Watchmaking started in 1600s (ofcourse larger ones) when the huguennots fled to the jura mountains from the french king. they settled in there and brought the know how for mechanical machines. la chaux de fonds and le locle where the starting points of swiss watches history. in the 60s they left for the bilingual city biel/ bienne from wich this region never economically recovered. JD are still up there mastering their heritage of skills ams creating stuff ahead of all the went to geneva, bienne and so on. JD also produced entertainment machines for royals before electricity was invented. with a JD you can really distinguish yourself but they are expensive.

I love this watch. I don’t like its movement. Once they put a true GMT movement inside it, I’m in, until then, I’m out.

I agree plus the 6R movement in the new Willard is not as proven or accurate as the 4R movement. Had to regulate my 6R as the Seiko factory in china could not be bothered. Once I opened the case I observed "Case Made IN CHINA" on the inside case back. Buyer beware.

I have both of them …. Both are savage , I also picked up a fantastic Mwc 500m sub GMT .. but seriously Seiko turtle 🐢 is an excellent 👌 watch… Willard on strap is lighter more comfortable

Mine works like +3 seconds constantly, much better my Tudor as far as i see. Very utilitarian watch, dial is very nice and not distracting, versatile and dressy at the same time.

These are Chinese made stamped in Geneva watches thst don’t even use in house cases let alone movements.

This is fantastic. Tell me, would you chose the 053 over a Mido OS 200C grey? Im finding that the specs do kill the seiko but it's lacking in the 'wow factor '.

i have an srp777 only to scratch my ich of wanting a willard. I did end up falling in love with it, but if i had the money, i would most certainly get the spb151. I live in brazil, and due to import taxes, it is ridiculously expensive. It gets to around 11k reais = 2.075,00 dolars >:(

I have the SRPC91 Save the Ocean dial from 2018 on a tropic rubber. Great weekend watch.

What model Strapcode are you using?

I was lucky enough to get the 41mm silver dial at retail. It is an amazingly pretty watch. The sunburst dial in combination with the 18k yellow gold hands and markers pop really hard in sun light.

Ahhhhh it's good. BUT..... Steinhart has made a special edition of their Ocean 39 GMT for OLKO. It is a near perfect copy of the Rolex 1655 - but better! The 1655 had an acrylic crystal, a GMT hand that was not independently settable, and a pressed metal clasp rather than milled. Steinhart updates all of that and it is an AMAZING watch. And all of this for about $550 USD!

In my opinion the turtle wins hands down! The new slim turtle or Willard is going to be a Shelfer! A sitter, a non moving item, compared to the turtle! Just way over priced. If Seiko lowers it to 600-700.00, then it’s a deal, other than that, I’m sticking with the turtle! Matt
