Catchment Delineation Using Grass Tools within QGIS
In this video I presented how to carry out catchment delineation using Grass tools within Qgis. I solved an example from downloading DEM for a given study area to extracting streams and styling it without using or calculating stream order.

Thank you so much for this most important video, please if we have rainfall data including (N/A) data how we can deal for this case ? Best wishes
AA, I guess It depends on the project objective: for example if the project is related to flood protection and N/A means not available data because the rain gauge is out of service then you can try to cover the data gap from the nearby gauges or by doing what is called regional analysis that uses geostatistical analysis. If the project is water resources management or draought analysis then N/A might be assumed as zero to be more conserved. For conducting geostatistical analysis, you might refer to my following paper: doi.org/10.3390/w16070925

thanks So much Dr Mohamed. For the boundary conditions of culverts connected to channels which already containing existing flow, to simulate the HGL the downstream in the HY-8 we can use Tail water elevation ?
Yes, correct, but this requires solving the downstream structure first to get the water depth at the tail of the culvert. If you are afraid that backwater of the downstream structure is gradually varied flow, it might better to use a software such as EPA SWMM or PC SWMM to solve the whole integrated system in one go. This is expected to provide better presentation to the hydraulics and could avoid adopting conservative high tail waters (to ensure safety)

اذا الانبوب تغير حجمه السرعه تبقى نفسها؟؟؟
إذا كانت نفس كمية التدفق (Q) واحده فبالطبع كل ما قلت المساحة زادت السرعة وهذا شىء بديهى لكن فى المثال رقم 2 الوضع مختلف فالتدفق عند المدخل تم تقسيمه على ثلاث مخارج وبالتالى فإن قيمة التدفق عند المدخل ذو القطر D الكبير هى أكبر من قيمة التدفق عند المخرج ذو القطر d الصغير وعليه يمكن بالطبع أن تكون السرعة واحده V. أتمنى أن يكون الرد واضح شكرا على السؤال
