    James, what is the black colored device that I see where the slide meets the bell section of your bass trombone? Do you recommend it as protection for the left hand as it works to hold the weight of the instrument? If so, where can I get one?

      Most who seem to try it like it. It’s made my Sheridan brass. It doesn’t particularly help me personally, I like the hagman grip better

    Great advise! I'm a retired US Army Bandsmen and retired high school band director. I tried to instill in my students that yes, you need to put the time in, but have a goal. Finding your motivation is hugh.
