1969 Mustang Shelby Tribute In Storage For 19 Years
That car has to have 120,000 miles on it but still a good project car.
Thanks for heads up. Need to do same thing
How long ago did you buy it? May I ask what you paid? I like the so called transition years, 71 to 73 of cougar. My preference are the 71 and 72 as I dislike the 5 mph front bumper. That said, I hope you restore this 73. In this condition, it's a Find!
Thank you for your comments! I purchased this car about 6 months ago. If you check out Episode 9 on this car, it has all the breakdown of how much I paid and the costs I have spent so far. I am with you on the front bumper. I am not finished working on this car, the next video should be coming out later this year. I plan to work on the exhaust next. Thanks!!
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Rad truck.
Thank you for your comment! Thank you for watching!

Thank you for your comment! It may be a while before it is ready to drive. LOL!!
@rebanav7, I'd be happy with a ride in your car...lol
My Favorite car in the world, Fastback Mustang. Like this not a newer model.
Thanks! I like this style of car too. It is one of my favorites as well. The classics are the best!

Thanks Jim! Glad you're here! We are getting ready to get more videos out. We had to take a break due to the bad weather here in NE Texas.
I dont suppose the 73 cougar is for sale ?
Not for sale at the moment. However, if I decide to sell it later on I will keep you in mind. Thanks for asking!
I've got a 77 k 10.
Thank you for your comment. That's an awesome truck man!
Looks good
Thank you for your comments!
This looks like its gonna be a great project. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Thank you for your comment! More videos coming up! Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for your comment! Keep watching for more interesting videos!
My stepdad had a 71 cougar with a 351. It hauled ass
Thank you for your comment! Those are great memories! We love old cars! Please keep watching for more videos!
I had a friend who had a 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7 back in the day! It was a really great, fun car to drive around in! 👍🏽❤️
That's awesome! These are really cool cars. Thanks for watching!
I love that car
Thank you!
You'll have to let us know how it holds up! I've heard mixed things about the linseed oil getting cloudy and sticky much sooner than say Poppy's or VGG's wipe on clear. Much more expensive though.
Wipe on clear makes as much sense as brushing on base coat paint…
Thanks for your comment. I plan to do a follow up video in a few months.
Sweet ride. I would love to find a 71 cougar with the 429 cj in it.
Thanks for your comment. They are out there just keep looking.
West Coast Classic Cougars sell the y pipe for 114 dollars they also do full dual exhaust for 550 dollars 😊 driving
Thank you for your comments! I will look into that!
Car looks fantastic back cruising the streets! 💙
Thank you for your comment! I enjoy driving it!
You know you’re a big shot when you have a camera person! 💪
Thanks! LOL!!
keep up the good work
Thank you for your comment! I plan to!
Really like your attention to detail and your mechanical knowledge on this old classics love it , look forward on next episode , like to see it on a test drive .
Thank you for your comment and watching! Test drive in the next video!
Not sure how much you know about the 351C. I do not know a lot and I am still learning on these old cars. A quick cheap upgrade would be to get the water restrictor plate for the cooling system. You can find it on the west coast cougar site. If you run into an issue where you gauge is giving a high reading this could be the cause.
Thank you for your comments. I am looking into that. I had previously learned about this type of issues with Cleveland engines. So far I have not had overheating issues.
Always smart to replace the fuel tank. I get angry when I watch these big TH-camrs struggle with clogged filters and carburetors because they kept the old tank. 🤷♂️
Thanks for your comment. I totally agree!!
Your Cougar is starting to look really nice greetings from Australia
Thanks for your comment! And thanks for watching our TH-cam channel! Greetings from Texas!
Glad to see that she’s alive and doing fine! 💙
Thank you for your comment. It's on the road now, however we are still working on some minor issues. The car runs and drives just fine.
In 2024, this 73 has less rust than the 71 I bought in 1987 and drove for a couple of years. That one had 125k on the clock. Your interior’s better too. Mine also had a 351C 2V with an FMX and an open rear end. Despite being a piece of junk , it was a fun car.
Thank you for your comment. I was really lucky to find this 99% rust free car. I was also lucky for it to have a nice interior too. It appears to be a low mileage car, but I am unable to prove it. This one has a C6 transmission and a open 9 inch differential with a 275 gear.
30:03 thank goodness you dropped the oil pan! As soon as I saw you having to unclog the drain plug I was yelling “drop the oil pan and clean the pump intake”
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I found about 3 inches of oil buildup that looked like gray jelly. I also repaired a pin hole at the bottom of the oil pan and replaced the oil pump.
I see a whole lot of green and trees in the background so you must be somewhere in South Texas cus up here in the Panhandle everything is flat and brown. Enjoyed your vids, Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your comment. We are in a small town in East Texas and it's been dry lately but now we have had some rain.
That's a badass charger in the beginning of the video!!
Thanks Ray!
Can’t wait to see u get into it
Thank you for your comment! Please keep watching!
