Thank you immensely for making this I need this piece my jazz band auditions and you did a great job explaining how to play it and the solo part was. I can't state how much this helps I hope you have a great life ahead! ❤
Glad it was useful
Thank You for the great lesson. I won't be the next Wes, Burrell or Pass but really enjoy trying to play in a "jazzy" style. Your lesson ...super clear and inspiring

Good me and my friend in your class like it
bro who are you😭😭😭😭
Thank you - good lesson , I have to play this at a job and this gives me an idea about how to solo on the bridge , the melody on the bridge is much like a diminished scale
Glad it was useful
@@WilliamApplegate1959 it really helped the gig went well and I played some of your ideas - imitation is a compliment in this case haha 😀
That is very good Mr. Applegate, I’m in your homeroom
Thanks
@@WilliamApplegate1959your welcome
Very nice lessons , do you have other song to suggest for a jazz apprentice like me? The whole lesson was perfectly explained and played 🍻
Glad it was useful. See my channel and website for lessons on other jazz standards. billapplegateguitarist.com
NOICE ! check out my version too 🎉🎉
Bill! Let's go... It's jazz time baby
The band that I play with has decided to learn St.Thomas. Have been searching the TH-cam guitar lessons and coming up short. Stumbled on your channel. Exactly what I was looking for. Am liking AND subscribing! Thank you so much.
Glad it was useful
Learned so much, more than even the great song I see now how to use voicings with 4ths over a pentatonic melody and how to improvise in jazz blues and how to make the intro so distinct with clever voicings. I feel like I have the tools to make this my own, thanks so much!
Glad it was useful
Bad tuning
I should have been more accurate.
What a great lesson for this jazz standard. Really appreciated.
Glad it was useful
This is awesome. Just what I was looking for.
Thanks

Thanks for posting, great lesson!!
Glad you liked it!
Nice, but sound is still way too low. Most everything else on TH-cam plays at louder, more listenable level. Maybe adjust your mike on rec?
Composer: Marcos Valle ❤
Like the content (yet have no bender) Anything you can do to increase the sound volume? My sound controls are all maxxed out.
Sorry
I'll work on it
I just found out that there is a shout chorus. No transcription though. Guess I'll have to use my ear.
William, you wouldn't be related to Ralph William Applegate by any chance? From Florida?
Not that I know of.
@@WilliamApplegate1959 Just curious. He was originally from NJ. Just found out he's my biological father. There's a lot of Bill Applegates out there. Sorry to intrude. You sound great BTW!
I need the melody or the lead guitar....but just the rithym only.....I get lost
The Melody is at 4:20 the Solo is at 6:50
this is so cool. i want nothing more than to play jazz songs surrounded by a small audience of people who love it
Glad you enjoyed it

Abraço, from Brazil

Love it mr. applegate❤
Thanks
Thank you! I do appreciate very much that you show how these chords are variations of standard chords, that I already know, Barchords, minor seventh, major 7th etc. I have a jazz trio, playing songs I write (well, I create them, but I don’t write them down because I’m not educated in that way) and my flute player who is really quite good, is getting me to learn some jazz standards. Since I really play by ear and don’t read music, he picked little sunflower because he thought it was easy and with your TH-cam video, it is very approachable. Thank you so much. It’s really funny too, that you have someone from your band class in the comments, and it’s great that he says he’s getting better at flute, ha ha ha.
I don't see the pdf on your site. Is it available for this ?
