Get a Micro tech Ultratech if you like to fidget and want to try a good automatic. Or a Micro Tech Troodon combat 3rd Gen for a very easy operation
@@stocktondrones9747 is it an auto or a otf? I do love microtech.

Gracias por el video amigo
$30? If it’s not $300+ titanium frame lock in M390 then I don’t wanna look at it! Anyways, budget knives are super sweet, especially for people who enjoy knives but don’t wanna break the bank. And there so many knives now below the $80 range that are awesome. Personally, as i’ve been collecting, it’s hard to gravitate towards cheaper knives because I guess I have spoiled myself. All great none the less.
I'm getting there too. I haven't bought any knives in awhile because I'm building up my budget. Haha.
Very nice sir I just love knives
Thanks man. I never would have thought I'd be so into them a couple years ago, but here I am. Haha.
That thing is scary!
Larger edc pocket knives and no Cold Steel?
@@lemondope4000 I had the AD10 as an honorable mention. Haha. I don't have any of the large Cold Steels.
Some honorable mentions: Benchmade Crooked River Real Steel Megalodon Shirogorov Cheburkov
I definitely want to get my hands on a Benchmade Adamas, the large version, as well. That looks like a nice knife.
That's micarta on the Remette Rhino rubbing some oil onto the micarta will improve the color and get rid of the white spots. That first version of the Rhino is an odd duck, it has a secondary detent that rides against the blade all the way though it's full range of motion, and it is a standard plunge/button lock. They were going for a button lock with an actual dedicated detent but, it ended up creating a quirky action. It won't gravity open due to the detent and it doesn't free drop because of the detent ball friction on the blade. After disassembling and tuning the detent and adding nano 85 oil to the detent path I'll say it now drops shut much more freely than before. I definitely hear ya on not all knives are for everyone.! I have both of the knives you showed and your complaints are valid. I kind of like the v1 Rhino simply because it tried something different, and I really like the looks of the Ahab but the super slick handle is the primary reason I don't carry it often. I'm deep enough into the collecting hobby that I seldom regret a budget friendly purchase.
@@jamesreese7111 I'll try some of the things you mentioned on the rhino. Thanks for the advice! Like I said on the video, I hear the v2 is great.
The civivi vision is the best way to go
It's a great design.
That's a nice looking knife for such a cheap price! Very nice acoustics when you opened it too.
Currently going through this right now with my first knife from Petrified Fish, the Tena. I wanted to try something a little out of my wheelhouse, as I usually go for sheepsfoot, droppoint, or spearpoint blades and figured I'd try a kwaiken/tanto on for size since the Tena seemed well-made. By all means, it's a decent knife-especially for the price I paid for it; bank-vault lockup, feels nearly as secure as a fixed blade to be honest, acceptable blade geometry, etc. But this knife just isn't for me. I find the handle too neutral, and I fully realize now I prefer any other lock type to a liner lock at this point in my collecting career. The front-flipper is nice and can even be used as a wave deployment in a pinch, but I wish it was button-lock instead, don't care for the neutral handle, the pocket-clip, the overall blade shape, or the size. I thought I'd like it, but it just definitely isn't for me. But hey, a lesson learned, and a none-too-expensive one thankfully. (Also, great on Remette to give you a full refund and let you keep the knife like that! It speaks well to them as a company.)
That's the risk when buying most of what you collect online. But what can you do, right? Give it a shot. They can't all be exactly what we want. I would say though, as it pertains to locking systems, nothing gives that satisfying click when you open it like a liner lock. Haha. maybe a frame lock. But I get liking button locks as well.
@@Wiscosouthpaw You're definitely right about that! And I agree; the satisfying click of the liner lock on the Tena is actually some of the best acoustics out of all my knives. Hopefully one day I can live somewhere with an extensive knife store so I can spend a lotta time getting things in hand before pulling the trigger on them.
I feel like I get better sliceyness out of hollow grinds, and they tend to look a little better. But I won't turn down a nice high flat grind if it's on the right knife.
@@Sanguivore I definitely think hollow grinds look better.
😔 they can't all be your favorite
Slick! I know which one I prefer
What a line-up! Love these knives. Love the Stones too.
Glad you asked a pro for advice. The best sharpening system is a honing stick, plain cardboard and honing compound. You’ll get an edge that’ll cut the whiskers off a snail's sack without harming the delicate ball sack material….and the edge is durable. Man you must have 2k in pocket knives already!!😳
Not sure. Why are shaving snail sack whiskers anyway? Lol. Still waiting to do a review of a 940. Buy one yet?
Ugh, I forgot all about it…been working a lot. Got vacation next month for hunting opener so probably pick one up beforehand.
Wish you had a bow we could hunt!
Best Ganzo EDC.Knife for me. It's love at first sight 😘, Everything is good. But bad metal ball bearings Makes it easy to rust. It should be ceramic ball bearings.👍
Nice collection mate
Black knives matter. Hey it’s the stones! You thinking of making a cover band 😂 Nice vid bro
@@2cthetruth I'm too old.
I like this one a lot
Beautiful piece
Brand new, but not hard to open if you open it how it was intended. It gets better after a few uses.👍

🤣🤣🤣
Yes!! Louder for those in the back...
Tanto
That knife ain't big enough to be called a tanto you need to be going back to the drawing board 🛹
That nice needs to be at least a 6-inch blade
What's your favorite tanto? I do have an AD10 in a tanto too. That's a little bigger.
@@jimmyking998 Oh. You're a fixed blade fan. I like a knife that's a little more concealable.
No one would ever expect you're doubled up. Excellent play! Unpredictable!
They make a left hand version of that knife. Not a tanto blade though.
Dang. Maybe I can trade it in. Lol. I actually don't mind having a couple right hand knives in case I feel like carrying 2. One in each pocket.
@@Wiscosouthpaw the green micarta satin finish left hand version is on sale for $105 on the KANSEPT site. I just ordered it a couple of days ago
@@echosierra9990 I'll definitely check that out. Let me know what you think of their micarta. Some companies do it well, others not so much. Haha.
@@Wiscosouthpaw Got the knife today. The green micarta looks pretty nice, and the titanium has a nice orange peel texture to it.
@@echosierra9990 Very cool. I'll look into them. I like the orange peel texture.
Reverse
Love that G-mascus pattern as well! Who cares if it isn’t hand forged, what difference does it really make? I'm sure it cuts things well, and I certainly wouldn't mess with someone whos carrying it.
Woah! Beautiful blue color!
Bigger = better. Beast is right!
Its just a mass produced pocket knive made from pre-made stamped steel no different to the gozillion similar knives being made in china. They all look the same and are marketed to those needing something to play or fiddle with due to underlying anxiety. Perhaps a useful tool to treat mental health issues but as far as a high quality knife as say compared to artisan hand forged cuttlery. Its more like a pit bike compared to a F1 car.
It's so funny reading some of the comments. One person will tell me all about his 6 dollar wish.com knife while you talk about an artisan hand forged blade. For me, if I like it and it cuts, and yes, I do like to fidget with knives (I'm not going to self diagnose what that means about any underlying condition), then I'm happy to buy it. Enjoy your hand forged cutlery👍
Which do you think is better?
Right now I'm leaning towards the Kansept. The one with multi colored scales.
Both look sweet. I think I prefer the second one. @@Wiscosouthpaw
Yet another simply beautiful knife for the arsenal!
940 Osborne is on my grocery list
I don't have any Benchmades. Let me know if you like it if you get one.
When I do I’ll let you review it
👍
Love your attention to the little details. This guy knows his stuff!
He is sansui!
You put that relic of an album at risk for this???
I have lots of copies. Haha.
That black is pretty..
No lefty love, lol
Not THATS a sweet Father's Day gift
Agreed👍
Thumb stud 🔥
Love this song
Audioslave is good. I prefer Soundgarden if we're talking about Chris Cornell bands.
@@Wiscosouthpaw I'm not sure which I prefer personally
Awesome, brilliant follow-up! Was curious how this safety feature worked in action.
Neat! Try it on your arm next.🤣
Not brave enough.
Do you ever accidentally deploy these kinds of knives while they're in your pocket?
I have not. It actually takes quite a bit of pressure to fire the knife. None of my kids can do it. Lol.
@@Wiscosouthpaw haha, I was hoping it would be a bit difficult to do so. Good to know!
It’s my EDC (have 2 actually). They seem to be child and woman proof; as I am yet to see either deploy the blade? As for them discharging in the pocket, I haven’t had that happen, but it wouldn’t be an issue because they can be deployed against ur hand and it just knocks them out of battery. Which means you have to pull the now free sliding blade all the way out to re-cock it if you will 🤷♂️. Definitely handy for a quick blade! Must have for sure!
