After getting the canopy on the Ranger we start to tackle the smaller items. Sarah completed a cover for our new 50 density foam tent mattress while I try to figure the wiring out with much frustration.

Sarah and I begin with our modifications by installing various parts to get the Ranger ready to live in the bush for a month. In this video we fit the canopy, awning and roof top tent.

We've been prepping non stop for quite a few months for a big overlanding trip from South Africa to Angola where we will drive all along the west coast of Angola. A few years ago I did the drive from Pietermaritzburg to Cape Town. We stayed overnight at Bloemfontein and the next morning continued on the Cape Town. We spent four days in CT and had such a lovely time. South Africa is absolutely stunning!!

That Ranger drives very comfortably but I found that when changing gears, the engines gives a jolt, not sure if my friend’s one needs new mountings.
I felt abit of lag on the 2.2...But the Isuzu 2.5 that moves. Nevertheless Ranger very comfortable.

Michael and Sarah this reminds of many times we made this trip in both Direction once we did a slight detour to visit Victoria West beautiful buildings worth a visit before this small towns becomes unattractive.

Hay julle ek wonder of julle nie dalk Afrikaans moet praat nie. Die hele Engels met Afrikaans slang werk dalk nie so lekker nie. Dit voel of julle stress om te praat. Wees julle self en geniet dit. Daar is mense in suid afrika wat dit doen in afrikaans en dit werk goed. Maar ek love julle opset.

Hallo Francois. Ek het vir hom 'n 3" coil & shock lift met caster corrections ingesit. As ek dit weer sou doen sou ek net 2" doen though. Die caster correction het definitief gehelp maar daar was steeds vibrasies en wear op die rubbers

Ons doen 1.2 op sand met DC 4x4 ranger (3.2) As dit baie warm en/of lang heuwels (soos Klein Tafelberg) sal ons 0.8 gaan. 265/65/17 Gaan nou binnekort 265/70/17 toe en hul bietjie toets.
Maak sin, daardie 1 bar was toe definitief te hard in die sand. Ek was net nie lus vir n tyre om af te klim nie, ek gaan volgende keer 0.8 probeer. Ek probeer ook kyk waar ek gewig kan spaar! Ek het verseker te veel gewig agter op om die bakkie te geniet.
@@michaelsarahadventures Ja ek try maar op 1.2 rond bly. Die goed is maar swaar en ook nie lis vir tyre nie. 0.8 sal ek baie versigtig wees skerm draai en momentum.
