Saturday 20th August 2016 The Black Horse, Barnet We only played this a handful of times and dropped it from the set. eQuivalents first drummer, the fabulous Rich, asked me recently if we had a recording of it. I didn't think so then found this. A bit of nostalgia.

A bit of fun to mark Father's Day. Born in 1935, my father sadly passed away far too young in the year 2000. In case anyone has ever wondered where my dirty laugh comes from... :)

Hello!
After the 8 minute mark he just went "Aw fcuk it!" 😆 Jokes aside, it's absolutely lovely to hear these songs live! 🖤
Lucky enough to see William D Drake at the Dorothy Pax, an absolute gem, brilliant musician! Thank you for sharing :)
Good stuff.

Twiddling knobs ain't that hard, having members of Gong alongside you is a big help
I recall when doing the FOH sound for the original Cardiacs at the Marquee in 1985 the keyboard player had one keyboard swapped through 180 degrees, so he in effect played it in reverse - from behind. Mad, but very impressive. Looking at the video of the Surbiton gig from around the same period, you can just about make that out.
Lovely, one of my favourites, and one I didn't think to record when I saw them in Glasgow. Cheers!
Someone's been listening to Zappa.
I'd say that's inevitable.
Lovely. Did you record the whole show?
I did! Currently putting it together
@@ericwalker1834 fantastic news, can't wait to re-live it again, and to rip the audio (if that's ok?)
Of course! I'll send you a high quality WAV or FLAC file if you like
@@ericwalker1834 yes please mate!!!!
Oooo, I'd like a FLAC please?
We did a ukulele tribute to this great song sung by Laurel & Hardy! th-cam.com/video/cpok29Xycsw/w-d-xo.html
Jim's not that fat 😐
What keyboard is Bill Drake playing at 0:33 ?

Great performance of a great song.
Where is jim,,,, JOKING NOW PXXXXXX OFF X
Thanks, especially for the download links, you are truly worthy of laudation!😀
Wonderful! Juno passed this along to me today. Hope all is well. Heya, Mr. Duffy! X
Lovely video 🌼Thanks! ❤
Yes!
All the way to Bromley on Vine? Nice place!
Cardiacs are back! Let's rejoice! 😢
OMG THE VOCALS OMG THIS IS FUCKING MAGIC! tim would be so pleased with this
OMG LISTEN TO JIM!
Maverick? Cheeky shit more like 😅
My favourite game ❤
Brilliant!
Thanks for uploading this!!!
If time travel ever becomes a thing, I'd go to this gig first, for the performance of this song in particular. It was 4 years before I went to my first gig, saw Cardiacs many, many times afterwards, but not the full, big band lineup. Thank dog for the Maresnest dvd!
See you there… 🕰️
if you manage to get a time machine, could you give me a lift there too?
They gave it everything and nailed to such perfection
I was actually there but I'd join you in this venture :)
I remember being totally gobsmacked when I read that Steve Davis had paid for MAGMA to reform for a few gigs in London back in the 80’s. I recall reading about it and thinking “Is there another ‘Steve Davis’ out there in professional snooker that I’ve not heard of?”…it was so off-the-wall that I couldn’t reconcile MAGMA with Steve “Interesting” Davis!
I notice the reply you left on my comment has been deleted. Or perhaps something else happened but it’s no longer there. Steve Davis said himself in an interview that nobody turned up, the particular show he was talking about was only one night.
It wasn’t a reconciliation either, at the time they hadn’t split up before.
Going to see GONG in a few weeks (and then The Residents a week after that!), I hope Kavus and crew are on the ball!
I saw Gong tonight and he was on top form!👍🏻
yup
Yeah, that's a cat. Also a mouse!
And a cat and also a mouse.
And another cat.
Very nice! I see a lot of familiar faces 😀
Steve Davis has the largest collection of soul ‘45s in the country, thousands and thousands of them, which is pretty darn impressive. There’s a French prog band called Magma and in the late 70s/early 80s, Steve Davis organised and put on a show in London, completely self financed. Absolutely nobody turned up, how sad! I adore snooker and I adore music, Steve Davis is an incredibly interesting man and I could listen to him talk about snooker or music all day every day 😀🥰
A special man...
It’s untrue to say “no one turned up” to see MAGMA. They played 3 nights at the Bloomsbury, and the last night was sold out!
@@terrypussypower - Steve Davis said that himself in an interview. It wasn’t the Bloomsbury shows, the performance he was talking about was only one night.
Thank you Eric! These spruced-up uploads of yours are wonderful.
Cheers! If I had a less ancient PC (and the ABC weren't making threatening calls to my landline) I'd post the lot!
all snowy in the pond
It's raining snow, yeah?
How I wish I'd been there... R.I.P Tims.
Did you get a sense what the bloke was so annoyed about or was he just a bag of wind?
The original poster... th-cam.com/video/LZQod7j-Cak/w-d-xo.html... said the man shouted something about someone dying of cancer and the show not being funny so perhaps he was in a bad place.
What a load of boule-ocks. Played that game a few times in France now, it's fun!
It ain't no PS1 but it passes the time.
Nice work with the captions
Thanks! I tried to clean up the audio best I could but the audience is very loud.
CAN’T HEAR A WORD!
Unfortunately it's audience phone footage. The heckler is inaudible but most of Stew's comebacks are in the captions I've uploaded.
This makes me so angly
Like an angle?
@@ericwalker1834 your comment makes me so angly! You wouldn't like to see me angly, Angly.
😬
@@ericwalker1834 check out Stewart Lee and Ang Lee. All will be clear. He gives it to you straight.
Hey, hey, hey. Calm down. There's no point getting Ang Lee about this. Is there?
Excellent 👍
