This system is very very similar to Kipura of Kongo in Alkebulan miscalled Africa...which is thousands of years older than France, much less Savate...and the Kipura of the Lamtuna and Godala which is about 1200 years older than France, was used by the Alkebulan Lamtuna and Godala to civilize Europe. Kipura warriors brought to Italy the kick the French much later called chassis d'italienne, the chassis ba and other kicks...and even more importantly, the philosophy and strategy. European styles aren't initially elusive, fluid,aesthetic, defensive, quick,accurate, explosive and combination oriented. The Montu of Alkebulan is very much that style; so much so that this style even today is acknowledged as Alkebulan miscalled African and even Alkebulan miscalled African American. The European style is culturally way waaayyy more Rocky style oriented than Ali style, when they're bereft of The Alkebulan influence. This style of combat is like hiphop. Others may enjoy, emulate and develop their own interpretation of it, but ultimately...like hipho...this style has its origin in Alkebulan miscalled Africa. However. I really like this specific interpretation. Congratulations and keeo it up!

I am an admirer of Savate and La Canne. It is very practical and pragmatic for gutter fighting. Basque foot fighters were dirty fighters as true hooliganism and thuggery should be. I am, also, an FMA practitioner and former instructor ( ret. ). For those that think that what they are using is just a light cane art, then they are mistaken. Just like FMA, La Canne is both a sword and street art. Especially for a sword cane. The dynamics for La Canne for both impact and stabbing / slashing weapon is not much different than sword centric styles in FMA. Dissect it and you will see that it is just as deadly especially for CQB. They are not to be underestimated and trifled with.
