I think it may be the chaos angel that gets dropped for A Bao, haven’t really looked at saint yet to see if/where it would fit.

@@pulsargames4166 Yeah That's what I thought too ! After checking and trying it I don't think Saint will be a great addition in fact but curious to have your take on that if you ever looked into it ;)

I took out IP, I did the change right before round one so hadn’t figured out the best way to make the end board yet. I now often go through crypter and have SP between Silvia and Gryphon.

I figured that was the only card in the extra that could seemingly be switched. Would you keep using chaos angel going forward even though you didn't summon it this tournament?​@@pulsargames4166

Yeah I would, it has come up in other matches particularly against FS Ryzeal as they can really struggle to out it which lets you out grind their resources and then win over the next turn or 2. Of course with the release of SUDA the extra will change again to accommodate Bao.

I like the 3 deception as it’s slightly harder to interact with than Diabellstar, although I may look into maxing out on her too. Another reason for 3 is to lower the chance of a fusion spell bricking by increasing the chance to open a sinful spoils. Had a read of determination and while it can be better going first it’s so much weaker going 2nd which is where the power of the debtors lies. Lets you break board that bit easier although would be nice if it wasn’t limited to the main phase.

Yeah so it depends on the matchup, I’ll often side out the full fiendsmith engine as well as trim the deck a bit in the mirror for impulses, lanceas, the 3rd thrust, duster and the second talent. Against a very power heavy deck like memento and the Maliss mirror you need more hand traps but I also don’t want to play too hard into talents.

Since I couldn't respond with monster effects i chained a trap to the droplet, i then chained my Fiendsmith Desirae to my trap card to negate the droplet.

I should’ve looked into it more but I trusted the judge as he’s familiar with the deck. It’s possible it was an illegal play (I wouldn’t call it cheating as that requires intent.) I’ll ask about it and read all the relevant cards next locals so that my opponent can learn for the future.

good call. Yeah he did likely cheat there. The judge asked for a "legal" target, and since he shuffled back 3 from grave, the only legal target he would be able to feasibly show the judge, would have to be a 3rd copy of creation king(because you obviously cannot shuffle back your creation king to then summon out that same creation king lol) . He did indeed show the judge twin dragon, which requires exactly 2 materials, which would not be a legal target since he shuffled back 3. IDK if the memento player has a 3rd creation king in extra though. If he DID, then he's fine. If he DIDNT, then he absolutely 100% cheated .

@@GutsmanLoL He was also new to the deck as is first day using it to prepare himself for the YCS and I know he wouldn’t intentionally cheat so was probably poor communication on all our parts. I do find being able to look part at games and review the plays we make is such a good tool. I made quite a few misplays in this gameplay which shows I still have a lot to learn.

@@pulsargames4166 you are absolutely correct, cheating does require intent. I may have used the word flimsily but it’s really important to decipher when it is and isn’t.

I did at first, decided to swap it out 2 mins before round 1 so had to make up combos on the fly hence why it looks so messy. Chaos angel hadn’t come up until another locals when it was massive against a fiendsmith ryzeal player, it won both games by just being unoutable. They have to make desirae equipped woth agnumday just to push damage through but that still gives you enough turns to grind through all of their resources.

Yeah you can do it there or you can do it later, you can use gwc to bring back a non link which also helps get to IP.

Yeah I dropped I:P to try chaos angel as you can still lock them out of a zone by changing I:P for S:P. Chaos angel has been incredible when it does come up and I’d rather have more for going second.

Whats the line?

I’ve had a few people struggle with it. You have to play as greedy as possible with it. The most common mistake I make is people often go straight into Silvia with the fusion spell when you want to go Rcielago to get either wanted (if you haven’t used it yet) or another deception. Then use the witch and wanted to make moon, then add back the fusion spell to then make Silvia. You get a draw from wanted as well access to fiendsmith and the negate from Silvia. When going second all of those engines help push through boards. I used to deck at locals (changed 1 card in extra) and went 4-0, I’m still misplaying but the deck has a steep learning curve. Will be uploading the gameplay footage soon.

@ deception just never resolved for me. Breaking the boards with engine was so tough in the mirror and against ryzeal detonator is just too strong. Deception never sticks and maliss field spell is always getting popped. Looking forward to gameplay with the deck on your channel.

@@pulsargames4166 I definitely believe a combo video is needed. I tried testing online and I got cooked. Its hard to see the lines, But then again Maliss does take some time to adjust too. When will you post a combo video?

@ as I’ve said the combos are fairly non linear so rather than a combo video I filmed my rounds at locals last night and gonna post those over the weekend as a vod style video.

I never missed having the hand traps. Only deck I’m somewhat concerned by game 1 is Maliss if my hand isn’t very strong. Ryzeal doesn’t set up enough that you can’t break the board through engine, drawing imperm for turn (the reason it’s still in the deck) or just board breakers. You’re always gonna spend more resources trying to break the board so better to just have more cards to do that.

The purpose the azamina engine isn’t just to get to Silvia. Because it’s fairly cost heavy I want it to offer more, than just a negate. I always go through Rcielago to get to wanted to help replace a card used and the main purpose of the engine for me is that it lets me make moon without using a normal summon as well as gets Silvia. Thats what I use it for, to get to both moon and Silvia.

I thought about play ash as it is nice vs fuwa as you said. My issue is outside of that interaction I don’t think it’s strong enough. The main issue being this version needs more cards to actually play so you can’t throw 2-3 hand traps at them and then 1 card combo your way through. The end board being unbreakable isn’t for the Ryzeal match, they’ll throw some hand traps at you and you most likely end on a half board. It’s more so for the mirror and against other heavy breaker decks. As you said its operation survive and then you have so much gas on the turn 3 you’re breaking any board and otk’ing.

@@pulsargames4166 So I found that Ash, aside from stopping fuwalos, has "breaker" applications vs pretty much every deck out there. Everyone has either 07 (mirror), regained or Paradise as interrupt and ash stops one of those, acting as a sudo breaker going second. Also, in my personal testing circle we got a mermail player and that board is simply not breakable if he gets to setup fully. (2-3 discards + 2 toads + dragite).

Not at all, there hasn’t been any situations where I needed it. It would’ve been nice to have a few times but never been necessary and not having that brick in the deck has helped a lot.

So I did want to side fuwalos as it’s gets you more cards which is so much more valuable for breakers. My biggest issue with it is I don’t want to play into thrust or talents. With lancea being the exception. If you can find room in the side deck for it I’m sure it’ll be good, giving your opponents crossouts validity isn’t something I’m interested in though.

I did want to play a 3rd tract, I’d say that’s a good replacement for it. I also tend to side out an engraver going second to make space for more non engine and to reduce the conflict between it and impulse.

It’s the gamble you take. Nib was one of my initial reasons for adding fiendsmith, if you open engraver or tract you can threaten Caesar before committing any more cards forcing the nib.

Yeah, the Kash version is cool but it feels like 2 distinct engines, you either open the Kash or you don’t.

@@pulsargames4166 Just to add to the conversation, I don't have the Fiendsmith package so I've been running the Kash version. Do you ever find that you wish you had some more extra deck space for toolbox stuff when running the Fiendsmith version? Even with the Kash package I'm running (requiring zero ED slots) I still have like 17-18 cards I've been testing for my extra deck because the slots are so tight I can't decide which combination of 15 is the best. I get the complaint about them feeling like separate engines, but with 3 unicorn/2 Fenrir/1 birth/1 pressured planet/1 terraforming (which can also pull Maliss field in a pinch) I've found it to be very rare that I don't have at least one Kash card in hand in addition to a Maliss line.

Just like that’s it’s been improved, it isn’t often you have to go down the mouse/rabbit only line but it does happen every now and then.

When are you proposing to do the fiendsmith part of the combo?

I’ve discovered this as well and this lets you play through nib. After you banish red ransom off the trap, you summon a Maliss monster and red comes back and banishes dot scaper and the dot effect summon. At this point you have several lines and this would be the best point to go into moon and go your Fiendsmith lines just to have that extra layer of disruptions and recursion.

You will be locked into only summoning link monsters from the extra deck if you do that.

@@GutsmanLoL yeah the point isn’t to fusion unless you open the fiendsmith cards. It’s there to give you additional follow up as well as an extra interrupt via fiendsmith In paradise.

Non engine trades for non engine, starting with engraver will either eat the cross or multiple detonator interactions, leaving the rest of your hand to play.

You really don’t need accesscode as the deck is an otk machine. You have a lot of removal without it and crypter puts out a lot of damage by itself.
