The Fast Show - Ron Manager's off to ITV
Boris Johnson
the moment I hit 30 3:25 became way too real
I first became aware of The Fast Show or "Brilliant!" as it was known in the US about 2001 or so. We had just signed up for cable tv after doing without for 5 years or so and I noticed BBC America was part of the line up. Being a huge fan of British comedy in my youth I started watching and I think the summer of 2002 the BBC was running something called "The Funnies" ...like a summer comedy festival featuring all sorts of things and this show was one of them. I believe the first sketch I saw was the gay gentleman farmer and his hired hand and I was hooked after that. My first child had just been born that spring and I spent a lot of time on the couch feeding her and watching this show. It was a great summer. Rowley Birkin is one of my all time favorite characters.
I really want to browse through that lorryload of interesting cheeses.
haha funny man
Utterly wonderful. Some years ago I worked for an estate agents - not the High Street house selling Johnnys, but a real estate management [Think Diana Spencre's home] and agricultural surveyors, and they had a corporate membership of a gentleman's club. In reality, it was full of such characters, sitting in their wing-back armchairs and reading the FT, Times or others, many snoozing away the afternoon after a heavy working lunch. Clipped accents abounded along with Savile Row suits and heavy brogues. A fleet of aging BMWs sat outside for those driving back home to their pile, and not one gaudy Range Roveresque car was in sight. All very modest old money, and all sadly now gone. Paul, thank you for this, and for bring back so vividly many memories of time well spent.
Best comedy show ever I would love to watch more but this week I have been mostly eating prunes so I need to go
Paul Whitehouse, one our greatest, Rowley one his greatest.
A lorry load of interesting cheeses 😂
Paul Whitehouse obviously gets lots of comments for this, and he is great in it. I do think Mark Williams was very good in it as well though. Nice timing on the "Ohhhh no!" (and 'Boll*cks') when he realises that he's set Ron off by mentioning the park :D
A y one comparing Rowley to Johnson....no way Rowley is extremely funny whereas Johnson is a malevolent presence deeply unfunny and needs a damn good thrashing in my ppinion....id throw in hancock gove williamson and
A genius in action.
Brilliant
As well as very funny this is really clever. I can't work out how he goes so suddenly from complete incomprehensible mutterings into real comical words (though I may be too busy laughing!). We don't get Paul Whitehouse on TV in Australia, so thank Christ for 'tinternet, and thanks for posting these.

The future Boris Johnson
Pure gold 👌🏻
The fact the final Tory Birkin sketch is so poignant says a lot about Whitehouse as a person Class act.
True. Collymore should've got more caos for England.
I absolutely adore Rowley,
Not forgetting ' rush back keeper '
