Benjamin Franklin and Numismatics
Benjamin Franklin is today recognized by even casual numismatists through his longtime depiction on American medals, coins, and currency. Franklin, however, was more than a Founding Father worthy of commemoration on our current money. Indeed, Franklin was directly involved in the creation of paper money and coinage of early America, and in this video, we explore Franklin’s connections to our earliest numismatics.

It's awesome people new to numismatics can learn easier than ever. This is much appreciated 👍
very interesting, nice! ☮☮💗💗✌🏼✌🏼
i’ve never heard a more irritating narrator. it literally made the video unwatchable.
Aside from the $100 note and the Franklin half dollar both which are obvious reminders of Benjamin Franklin,is the 1787 fugio which few people know about. This penny was the direct design of Benjamin Franklin. The legend itself was just part of the intelligence Ben Franklin put into words and is piece of money that was created during the time he was still alive. This coin didn't need his depiction to be a part of the history behind Benjamin Franklin
Wow…amazing proof nickel group at 25:34
What people going to coin shops thing they have in their tin cans, essentially...
Good God, sell some of that and pay off our $37T Debt!
Are we not tired of glorifying super rich collectors who don't even look for trier own coins but hire people to do the leg work while they just sit back and brag about their coins? Has this guy ever cherry picked a rare variety and then tried to negotiate a price that he has the money to buy. Maybe he should buy whatever NY art critics tell him is an up and coming modern artist.

As always, a great video!
Thank You for this video. Benjamin Franklin was a truly brilliant, talented, gentleman and his accomplishments make a very long list, and many of those are still used today. What's crazy is that you mentioned quite a few of his accomplishments and how his contributions helped build The U.S. and gain it's independance, yet you barely scratched the surface of ALL Franklin's genius and social skills.
This is an amazing man. We were so blessed to have him in America.

I'll take them. How much?
3:58 So in 1875 they only minted 20 of the $3 gold coins and someone in Europe made cuff links out of two of them?

I don't know Mr Hansen personally but from this interview he seems like a swell guy with a pleasant disposition - charitable, down to earth and someone who remembers his roots. Would love to have a conversation with him and view his collection in person! All the best to him in his endeavour in completing his collection.
This documentary is astoundingly good, thank you for putting it together! Enjoyed!! 🙂
This should be a must watch for anyone who is even remotely considering collecting coins. I was absolutely mesmerized by the content of this fantastic piece of Numismatics. As well as the narrator of this piece. Her voice was the very best for any thing on any of the subjects, topics, and areas of interest that anyone would be fortunate to have her read to you. I was taking into her thoughts on the subject and not even being able to tell you what she was talking about . I had to go through some subjects 2-4 times to make sure that I was understanding the narration and the topic it was about. This is definitely going into my things that I must listen to, a topic that I had to create, where I will be able to listen to it and sections of it whenever I want or need to. Thank you for your narration of a topic that I may have fallen asleep to and for the topics on which you spoke of.
