Coal Country Homestead
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 พ.ย. 2022
Hello Everyone! I am Samantha and my spouse is Zachary! We are a multigenerational family of 6 on a journey to live a more sustainable life. You can expect us to share real honest life with you. We live and homestead on a little under an acre of land, work full-time jobs, raise a blended family, cook from scratch, can and preserve a ton, and build and DIY our beautifully imperfect loving life we have built together. I hope you join along and we are so happy you are here!
We went to the Homesteaders of America Conference! @HomesteadersofAmerica
Hey friends! We went to the @HomesteadersofAmerica conference! It was educational, inspiring, refreshing and filled with an overwhelming sense of community. We left with a refreshed sense of purpose and renewed gratitude for the path we have taken. We we’re excited to see quite a few presentations and meet a few of the people we learn from @theJustinRhodesShow

Do u live in pa
What happened to you guys?
Stunningly beautiful canning pantry!Awesome video, watching here from BC Canada!❤
Loved the video but a lot of the things you said were PA things really aren't. Might have originated there but we have many of those in Florida and with my family in Indiana. Wonderful pantry ❤
I’m curious why such a long canning time when onion canning time for qts and pints is 40 min
I know there's a type of sausage from Poland called Kielbasa. Is this something different? How do people spell it?
Fantastic work! New sub! Thoroughly enjoyed new ideas while organizing the pantry.
I recommend a squash casserole.
🤔
I am going to have to watch you again and take notes! What an awesome variety you have and I love the way you tell what you use each ingredient for. Thank you for the inspiration.
I have food in my kitchen pantry and my house stays about 80. Will it stay good and last a long time at 80??
I really like chili with beans But to avoid conflict, it is not just chili it is always called chili with beans.
Gang of clutter
Im trying this out in 2024
I noticed in you older video y’all had a lot off empty jars… one thing that might be helpful… fill and can water in your empty jars.. that way if you need water you have it… if you can water it will be sanitized you can use it as a wound, eye flush. The empty jars will take up as much space full of water.
The first knife that they picked up, the santoku, is Not A Serrated Knife. When you don't know what you're talking about, maybe you shouldn't make videos???

Hi! Just found your channel! Wondering where you are from. I grew up in Kulpmont (went to school in Mt. Carmel). My husband grew up in Centralia (home of the mine fire), them moved to Mt. Carmel. Great canning stocking!
Hi could you please spell the name of the garlic, i keep missing it. Id like to get it now
Love this video! Subscribed!
Great life yall
I can’t wait for you guys to be back and posting regularly. You are my favorite homesteaders!
We are in the same zone. Do you guys start any planting indoors in January?
I was looking to see if you'd be participating in the Pantry Challenge 2024 and came upon this video from a few months ago. I was impressed with your question to the panel and they were certainly engaged in their answers! I hope we'll be seeing more from you and Zachary in 2024!
I'd love to see a Nov edition! ❤
Kielbasa is all over - we have it in Co and had it in TX
I’m from CO and we do meat and beans in chili too
Loved your shirts 😊That is so cool you got to go to HSA. My dream someday! Loved the clips you showed. Maybe we will meet someday. Looking forward to your next video. Val C ❤️🙏🏻
It’s great to see you posting! I’ve been worried about you all!💜
Hi! It really is good to be back. I needed to take some healing time off. I’ll share more about that sometime soon. For now we had an amazing time at HOA and I am just so excited to be back! Thank you for thinking of us. I really appreciate it and miss you all too!
I misse you, Goood to se you back 🎉 ❤

I love your cantry! New subscriber and fellow homesteader 💚💚💚
Awesome! Thank you!
Is that knife at 3:07 actually a serrated blade? It's hard to see any teeth on it.
Canning gives peace of mind and security. Good for you for feeding your family well! If you know, you know!
Just subscribed. NOW, we need some hops on this here homestead! 😊
I would love to known how you can your Perlin Pork. I can some back in Jan. but just can't remember the recipe. Please and Thank you
I like video ❤❤
Your idea with cardboard and mulch sounds like a good one. You can also use leaves until you get a drop.
Nice harvest! Good days work and plan for the fall. Thanks for the inspiration. Val C
Better to be growing food for the family than having a beautiful lawn and tidy flower beds. This may not look so great, but look at the food you’ve grown💥
I can’t remember if you guys started your onions with starts or seeds. I’ve never grown them before, started with small bulb starts. The tops grew but the bulbs didn’t grow much at all. I have gotten enough produce from my garden for fresh eating of green beans, tomatoes, peas , carrots, celery, kale and chard. So far no abundance to store for winter except maybe the carrots. The squash and cucumbers did not produce. I think it was a pollinator problem. I saw very few in the spring. Cabbage worms decimated my cabbage and broccoli . My potatoes look amazing and tops are just starting to die back so I’ll know soon. I’m getting ready to put in kale, cabbage, lettuce and cilantro for fall harvest. All in all I’m happy to have grown some food. Many were a first and I’m only 4 years into gardening very much. I’m going to put up some things from the farms around here and the farmers market. Love seeing you guys. And am learning from you.❤️
Hello so glad to see you guys
I know y’all know this. Better set a trap THAT IS GROUND HOG DAMAGE.. He/she will keep coming in. Best to put it down right away before you get more garden damage. So upsetting when nature finds a way in to get your produce you work so hard for. Nice tomatoes & zucchini too.. GOD BLESS FROM JULIE WEST CENTRAL INDIANA FARMLAND ✝️🇺🇸🐾🐾😭🚜
Absolutely awesome choice job. Thanks for sharing to the group.
Beautiful harvest! Our garden looks the same lol. Hard to keep up this time of year. Ground hog did the big damage and worms that eat the cabbage . We had the worms too. Little white moths lay eggs early spring and they hatch and devour cabbage. Ground hogs are the worst. 😡You can buy netting covers on line . Cover your cabbage as soon as you plant. By the time they get too big for the covers the moths are gone. Next year I will try to do this. ❤🙏🏻Val C
Okay wow! That is a beautiful pantry - you've taken wonderful care of your having right there!! We are here to support you guys!
We long cut julienne strips of zucchini and substitute for spaghetti pasta, one of those healthier eating alternatives i dont mind every once in a while, definately during growing/harvest season. Nice green thumbs, seeing tomatoes eating directly from garden......can imagine tasting.
There appears to be an elevation difference between existing structure and new structure roofs, was there an intentional purpose for this?
Great job! Amazing visual of what a typical family eats. Enjoy your videos. A Pantry tour sounds great. Val C
I would love to see what you have on your shelves and how you use them. I am a home canned and would love to see new ideas on how to use some of the items I can!
