Ethiopia and Hausa are very complicated to play with. But definitely has the best army. And the economy is very smooth in the 2nd to 4th age period.

USA is good after the 4th age "Napoleon Gun" deck card, which omits the Gatling gun reloading. That makes the Gatling gun scary as hell.
