Denbigh Fire Station celebrated 150 years of service to the local community in 2015. A group of retired volunteers were asked to share their memories. The video was produced by members of Denbigh Community Archive Group 35mins.

John David Williams (JD) was a Charge Nurse for more than 30 years at the North Wales Hospital, Denbigh. He continues to be actively involved with various societies and establishments in Denbigh, ie. Boxed David Jones in The North Wales Hospital circa 1968/69. Rhyl Youth Club/Paddy Kenny. Lost but survived the bout on my feet. Think he went easy with me. Nice guy. Got to know Bri Edwards very well in later years in the Bistro, Rhyl - Good times. Lovely to listen to their memories and those of Mr Harrison.
Really interesting, I remember Brian as an Leading Ff, the Sub/O was s9meone Stephenson ? Lovely to hear the memories, i was at Mold but rode "shotgun" on W51 at a mountain fire at Moel Fammau to hydrant. Needless to say the "best pressure" was the one by the Loggerheads pub.

Thank you so much for this, I’ve always wanted to know more on the hospital and see what it once looked like before it got destroyed by vandals! I work in a care home locally and one of our clients is a former patient of the NWH, I definitely think she was taken on by us as a home because of the closure of the hospital
Thank you so much for this, diolch yn fawr. I was a patient in 1988 in the mother and baby unit. Initially we were separated and my daughter was in St.Asaph, but the nurse there said staffing excuses was not enough and my daughter then joined me. I remember quite a bit although the only thing I do not recall was when my parents visited me and I was just asking for my husband.
Brought back some great memories watching this....had the pleasure of doing a few Rounds with Brian in the day .and had Huge Respect. as a bouncer also... good to see you mate....mike grimley
Loved listening to that thanks Dei Bri and may others who represented both Wales and Denbigh so well.Great blokes outside of the ring aswel lSome great evenings at the Townhall and the Talbut.
