Awesome video, your short appeared for me and i had to check it out! Always great to see others react to my favorite album and band and im glad you enjoyed it. Id definitely recommend checking out their album Today! Its kind of a turning point for the band, where they started moving away from the surf and car songs and started moving towards the Pet Sounds style songwriting. Then of course, Id recommend their later unfinished album, the Smile Sessions, if you want to check out a more psychedelic/expiremental album full of cool musical ideas! These 3 albums all really inspired me(as well as others by them but I dont want to be overwhelming with a novel sized comment lol). I hope your journey as an artist is super successful!

Ok, you can talk about it but your tone is still bitter and others can also say your tone is too bitter. Even your comment “still religious,” as if being religious is some anachronistic absurd belief, reflects your bitterness. Respectfully, maybe you should stop making what other people tell you so important. They can tell you what to do and not do all they like, but at the end of the day you are responsible for your own emotional regulation, morals, and self care. Religious people believe what they do because they have had experiences that led them to believe those things. Realistically they are just trying to help you. They don’t want you to be bitter or sad. They want you to experience the joy and peace they experience. Whether their religion is true or not there is nothing in that motivation that is evil or wrong, is there? If not, then I would ask myself why it’s so hard for you to hear from good hearted people who disagree with you.

I really like that! In my opinion, to me it sound like when the hero's sidekick finally learns to stand up to the hero for the injustice they have caused them. But the sidekick seems sad and longs for the hero because they looked up to the Hero, but it was a(maybe?) a toxic situation.

I grew up in a religion that a lot of people see as a cult. Now that I don’t believe in it anymore, I can’t help but see most major religions as cults. They’re just really big and powerful ones.

Writing songs for me sometimes occurs the same way. You take a vague or rough philosophical or sentimental concept, start putting random splurges of sound we optimistically call music, and hope for the best! You have a lovely vocal tone and control! The sound vaguely reminds me of what would be in a Harvey Danger acoustic set. Either that or Jump, Little Children I think the song will turn out amazing! What you have so far is totally rad.

Came here to say that. The song choices would lend themselves beautifully to finger picking, and I'd love to see some incorporated in the future. Finger picking brings everything to an entirely different level.

Throw in some soft finger picking i think the sound will fill a little full and complement your voice more. You sound good though c:

Thank you for sharing. I had a similar experience. Cheistians were going around campus during orientation week so i went up to talk about churches in the area since i had just moved. They went through a booklet of christian principles to basically test i agreed with all of. When they got to the "the only way into heaven is through salvation of Christ" i told them i dont think my non-christian friends are going to hell. They told me im not a christian, just "spiritual". I was already doubting my faith but this offended me. I told my brother what happened and he basically said "would you send anyone to hell" i said no, regardless of what they did while they were alive. He basically said "i didnt think so. Infinite punishment is infinitely unjust. What kind of god would inflict that on his children?"

Aw, yeah religious trauma is seriously horrible. I went through 8 years of rejecting religion after experiencing trauma of my own, exploring the world and all it had to offer, before I came back to Jesus on my own terms. All of the people I know or have met could use Jesus in their life, I see that clear as day, even if they’re doing good.. everyone has hurt and feelings of being lost or alone when you look deep enough. But unfortunately so-called Christians ruined the word of God, distorted it, and became an ultra-religious pharisee. Cultivating a relationship with Jesus freed me from a lot of suffering and confusion, and many people who have hit rock bottom can say the same. On that note- good luck with your channel and your journey to you! ☺️🤍

Old con artist trick: "Create a disease then sell the cure". Tell someone (CHILDREN, ffs) that they're inherently sinful and destined for eternal torture, then sell them Christ. I'm so glad you got out! I still struggle with anxiety and panic attacks from being raised with that "urgent burden", as you said.
