El- J's Kitchen
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 พ.ย. 2018
This show is designed to bring conversations back to the kitchen. I love sharing recipes with my friends and family my parents shared with me. I invite you to join me in the kitchen and spread love through preparing great meals for our families. One thing I can remember my parents instilling in us was old fashion, true, family values (Use what you have to spread love). Breaking bread together, conversing, and good nourishment promotes healthy relationships. I will show you fantastic recipes you can share with your family and friends to put a fresh look and taste for your weekly menu. Come join me on this Journey and let's have some fun in the Kitchen together.
Homestyle Spaghetti (revised)
The tools I used to edit my last video with the same name were terrible, and I didn't realize when it uploaded. It uploaded very unprofessionally, so I decided to do this video over making just a few minor changes.

Baked Flanken Style Beef Short Ribs
มุมมอง 9632 หลายเดือนก่อน
To be honest, I do not like the way Sam's Club cut their flanken style ribs. They used to cut them really thick in the 90's. Our food quality has really gone down. They still came out delicious.

God bless you too. 🙏
I made this and it was absolutely amazing! As a matter of fact; I made three and they keep getting better! Thank you for sharing.
I'm so glad you tried it. That is why I do this. I just want people to enjoy cooking or baking and making it their own.
😋😋😋🤤
Next video, pan the camera so it includes your face😊
Ok 😁
Lol I did at the end.
BOTH look delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
I soak them with baking soda (15 min), I heard it helps remove pesticides. Thanks for sharing.
Great tip!
So do I. You don’t even need the salt. Just wash rinse them again and they will be clean.
@@tlovesgreens8244 . I guess it depends on how dirty your greens are. Whatever helps is good.
Thank you 👏 Love your recipe. Cooking it for dinner tonight 😊
Thank you so much. 💓
Yum yum give me some
Yessss
They were amazing 😊
Thank you, Kell
Thank you, Kelly. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Looks great
Thank you.
Great Tip - I also wrap my leaves in a dry paper towel to keep them from producing slime in the bag. Makes a difference with leafy vegetables.
Fantastic tip also. I will try that also.
How much heavy cream did you put in it?
Start out with 1/2 cups and go from there. It depends on the amount you make. I hope this helps.
Wonderful video…thank you!
Thank you for watching.
I just got 5 pounds of Steelhead Trout Fillets from work. Thank you for this tutorial.
You are very welcome.
@@eljskitchen Don't mean to a bug but I literally just found your channel yesterday and I watched another video today and I heard you say your name Tamika(sometimes spelled with an e instead of I) but anyhow, I'm from Philly and though I have lived in 7 states and about 20 cites over the last 24 years I have never heard of anyone outside of Philly with the name. Would you happen to be from Philly?
Yes. I am from Philadelphia.
We call it Oyster Trout here in Baltimore. Very popular here.
Really , that is interesting. Wow.
I have been looking for a good receipe for shrimp and crab chowder. I picked yours to try. Cant wait!
Hope you enjoy it. It's so good.
Thanks!
You bet!
Making these tonight
I hope you love them.
I hate the stems
Me too.
Do you start it in a cold oven. I lost my mother’s recipe books in a move. Some of those books are 50 years old. I was looking for this exact recipe ☺️
No I start in a pre heated oven.
I have my mother's Joy of Cooking cook book. Those old ones are the best.
@@eljskitchen thanks I will try to find one
This recipe came from a friend. I just embellished on it and made it my own.
Them biscuits look so soft and fluffy❤❤❤❤
They are!
Can you tell me if you prep them ahead of time do you freeze them
I do. It's one less thing to do.
Thank you for taking your ring off when you’re cooking. A lot of cooking people keep their ring on .
You bet
Thank you 😊❤️
You’re welcome 😊
That is exactly how I clean mine for decades that's how my mom and grandma did it.😊
I love that. ❤
Bare hands big deal! I wash mine,do the same thing. And sometimes I even use a couple of caps of white vinegar. It’s a natural disinfectant. Thanks!
I use vinegar sometimes, also. It's great.
Hello! Just found you. This sounds great! Just watched your collard videos. I will be back!
Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate it. Check out my Instagram and Facebook, eljskitchen. It's all one word.
Oh no. 😮
Mika, where's the link for the cooking class? I to try both ice creams 😊
The cooking class is over by the time you saw this. I will make another video with the full tutorial.
I'm so sorry. My class passed. More to come soon.
Heart❤ 💯 love this recipe
Thank you . I hope you try it.
Good job young Mother👍
Thank you so much❤.
Baking powder??
Time 5:40 she sneezed over the food. I don't know. We all sneeze but? El- J's Kitchen would be a title I'd use with trepidation as "El" means of God. Just don't know???
She cooking for herself
@rsimmons1980 But she's on TH-cam, which is a public platform, and she sneezed on the food, and as far as we know, she fed it to other people. So, to say she was cooking for herself just doesn't cut it.
@@valeriewickerson-august7474 You don't even know if she sneezed on the food. She could have covered her nose and sneezed away. Anyway, who cares.
@rsimmons1980 Her cooking tape was heavily edited, so after her questionable sneeze, it made one believe she had many more questionable cooking behaviors. Also, her voice seemed not genuine. As if she wasn't being herself.
I did not and would not sneeze on food. Did you ever sneeze when cooking?. You turn your head and sneeze, correct?
Beautiful cake. And beautiful step by step directions. Happy Holidays. By the way, you can sprinkle confectioners’ sugar on it if you don’t use a glaze!
@terrymauriello3668. Thank you kindly for the tip. I will certainly try it that way.
Also, didn't see you chop garlic, is that in the miso? Thanks
No it's not in miso. Chopped the garlic and grated ginger. 4:49 I think I edit it out when I did my video.
Hi Mika, I'm definitely making this for my son. Is there a substitute for Sake or should I just omit it?
You can use white wine , chicken stock or seafood stock.
Looks delicious, l must try stone ground grits…
You must cook them a long time. However I like them better than old-fashioned Grits.
Looks pretty good👍 God bless you also here's a bible verse Psalms 121:7-8 The Lord. Will keep you from all harm he will watch over your life the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more
Amen❤
