Welcome back to my channel!
My brother and I went fishing at Columbia River for America Shad. We did pretty good that day. Probably, got over 40 hits and landed about 25 for 3 hours. During that day there were about 20,000 shad running thru the dam. So, the number were low but got some action. Fish On Baby!!!

Do not walk down the beach while reeling in fish ...stand in your spot. Fight it .I have gotten 40 to 50 pound r s when I fished their.. I know what I am talking about .fished there for years with grumpy and my brother jerry

What was the difference between the light rod set up compared to your larger set up? Same size jig? Same lead weight? Which was 1/2 Oz? Fun day for sure! Hope to hit it Friday
the light rod had about 8lb main and about 6lb leader with shad dart that comes with gold hook, the hook is not as strong as jig heads with dark gray/black hook. larger rod has 30lb braid main with 12lb leader with white and red jig head, gray/black hook. I heard shad are line shy so I didn't try use large pole as much. I knew salmon was running so I had larger rod kinda setup for salmon just incase. A few guys caught salmon with jig/shad darts. Yes, I had 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz sinker. Im not sure what size of jig head size I used. sorry
