@@jeckcopsyc9766 I see, well this isn't a spoiler, but to get what many consider the "best" ending you need to play it twice. First as whatever play style you go for, and then you can get a secret ending during your second playthrough. You said in your first comment that you watched the whole gameplay, I do title the videos so while there are no time stamps it can at least help if you're looking for a specific ending.

1:13:00. It means your healing prayer is slightly stronger. These work just like the amulets, applying their benefit and being impossible to track outside of that. 1:13:52. These nonhostile (they have contact damage but do nothing but clasp their hands when approached) praying dudes are often found near interesting things btw, ranging from bosses to secrets. (Edit: Came back later to finish.) 2:02:00 There's something poetically comical about getting taken out right after summoning Siegrid to hit Silva. Btw: Idk if you noticed, but Silva's boss theme has the same melody as Siegrid's. 3:35:00 Grats! I confess, I did not watch every single iteration: just a dozen or so plus the final one. Still, I'm glad you got to a winning strategy eventually. The biggest key that helped you is dodging through the projectiles in the first phase instead of way from them, I feel. If you dodge away they are probably still going to hit you, but if you dodge through they are now moving away from you. ...Also the Crypt Keeper experiences his niche use! Large bosses. His accuracy is... easily the worst in the game, so using him on mini!Silva was probably a waste. He did alright damage against the second phase though. I didn't see him stun though: Enemies get pale and lock in place - there's no slow effect despite the description. It usually takes 3-4 projectiles to get the effect. I think the slow you were seeing might have been a placebo mixed with the normal stagger-on-hit effect.

@@Millennial_Echo Very well. Here is everything I could think of, based off of watching other streamers and my own experience, one bullet point at a time. There are quite a few, so I hope you're ready lol. Some of these are common misconceptions or things which are overlooked. Some are things the game does not explain which it really ought to. But nothing here has to do with details about lore, location, or the like. You should probably try to get out of the habit of trading hits for damage: Lily will almost always take more damage than her spirits can return and it is rarely worth it to take a hit if it can be avoided. Dodging, maneuvering, or parrying, whichever you are most comfortable with, is the key to success. Lily is completely immune to fall damage. Prayer Restoration+ refers to the potency of your Healing Prayer, not how many Prayers you have available. Much like the amulets, the item that gives this is immediately consumed and cannot be measure anywhere in your UI beyond tracking the changes it makes to your Prayer Potency. Once you've found one Ancient Soul (material for upgrading Umbral Knight), you will be able to recognize all other Ancient Souls on sight. You will probably never mistake something which gives you Blight for something which gives an Ancient Soul thereafter, and you will never acquire it as random loot from a box or enemy. That said: You have to explore around to find them. You will not simply find them after defeating bosses. In case you overlooked it (disclaimer: I haven't completely caught up yet) - You can return to a Respite from anywhere on the map via the start menu (same place you change settings and the like. There is no penalty for dying beyond enemies respawning, and there is no penalty for returning to respite beyond the same thing. You will know when you get access to the ability to clear obstacles such as the locked door or pulsing red walls because the game goes out of its way to give you a video tutorial on how to do so, like when you got Gerrod's ground slam. Many skills behave differently in the air, such as Siegrid. Whether or not they do or don't can't be determined without trying them out, however. The benefit you get from upgrading a skill changes as you level it, and can sometimes modify the skill a bit. For instance, making Siegrid's mace swing last one or two revolutions longer, or adding projectiles to the crow. The orange bar under an enemy's healthbar is their stamina meter. When it is depleted, they stagger and take more damage for a time. Certain skills do more damage to this than the enemy's health, such as Siegrid. Many flying enemies will fall to the ground when staggered, and will often take fall damage when they do. Don't assume a boss is defeated unless its stamina bar is purple. If a boss' stamina bar is not purple, it might have another phase and healthbar, much like Siegrid did. You will not find enough Blight laying around in the world to max out every skill, but if you're good enough at platforming, exploration, and puzzle solving you will be able to max several. Always try a skill before upgrading it; some sound really nice but are in fact so situational they are nearly useless. Skills that throw out multiple projectiles are better against larger enemies as each projectile deals damage. Certain enemies may seem indestructible, but there is always a means of destroying an enemy. Some of them aren't even limited use. And last of the general "tips:" If the background singer sounds like she's saying actual words instead of just humming... she is. There are three tracks in the game with lyrics. Two are in Latin, and the last is English. You've encountered the first of these already in the White Parish. A vague translation of that one would be something along the lines of the singer urging Lily to stay brave in the face of the darkness ahead of her. ()()() The following is information regarding the use of an ability you do not have, but might infer due to a certain element of the UI. I do not inform you how it is acquired or specifically what it does, just provide information regarding some secondary benefits of its use which are not explained by the in-game tutorial on it. Still, I would call this a light spoiler, so proceed at your own discretion. ()()() When you get the ability that utilizes the empty gauge visible next to your skills in the bottom left, it charges up faster than you might expect simply from fighting enemies and also provides invincibility while it's being cast so don't be afraid to use it. It makes life much easier. Regarding the above: There are multiple ways to use it. When the time comes, try different combinations. It does not work with yellow skills; only red. ()()() Finally, some general tips for understanding the story: You will want to pay attention to the findings, the memories, and what Umbral Knight occasionally tells you, although there is some environmental storytelling that may be helpful here and there if you look closely enough at the background art in certain key locations, don't stress too much over that. That said: It may be important to remember that the story is presented as missives, diary entries, and speculation about the past. The people writing these things did not necessarily know the truth themselves and could be wrong or misinterpreting things.

@@Millennial_Echo Um. I think my comment may have been eaten by the system or it's just not displaying rn. Either way... Well, you've discovered a lot of what I said but a quick rundown of the things I considered most important. You've beaten catacombs as of stream 3 so: The SP gauge you cast Last Rites with fills fast enough you don't need to worry so much as to save it for an emergency. Also you have I-frames while using it. The menu that has your game settings and the option to quit / return to title also has an option to 'return to respite.' If you're backtracking through empty rooms to get to a respite, you may consider doing this to save yourself some time. Speaking of which: The only thing your level does is slightly raise your damage so grinding is not mandatory, although it does make things easier. The pointy things with the massive contact damage are not indestructible; try various skills. Some of them can cause damage. You will not find enough blight to fully upgrade every spirit, and some spirits are straight up useless in almost every situation so you should always try them before upgrading. Many spirits that you can use in the air behave differently. Spirits that throw out multiple projectiles are great against large targets. As a general rule, timing your dodge and sticking to a boss allows you to do more damage than trying to keep your distance. Ancient Souls can only be found via exploration at very specific locations, and frequently you get more than one at once. You will never get them as random loot from breaking things or killing enemies, and you will likely not find them if you're just going boss to boss and not fully exploring an area. The game gives you a video tutorial whenever you get a skill that can bypass things like the glowing red barriers or locked doors, so you'll always know when you can do that. As an aside, if you're patient enough with good timing you can use Silva to extend your jump. Jump, use her full combo, double jump, use her full combo again. Doing this can almost double your jump height and let you get a few things you would normally need a certain skill for.

Thanks for your thoughts, and I'll probably give that a shot with music/background noise, I was unsure about doing that in the prologue but you make a point about that. This was also very much a "to heck with it" and trying it, I didn't think of a type of method, just reading it. But yeah, it doesn't help that I can be very quite when it comes to reading things out loud, I know I need work on that and I hope to get better with this over time. I'll definitely take what you said into consideration when working on the first chapter.

@@Millennial_Echo Him being skeptical is repetitive, but totally expected. More of the part where Ash is like "How dare you call her Hanna!" followed by Zack need to justify himself. I find the other plotline more interesting not only because you met Luke and Marianne but also with the exchange between Zack and Hanna.

@GothicTech I think that maybe due to the accent being from Ireland, it's not one you often hear in video games, English, Scottish, French and German and other European countries have been heard but I've always found that for some reason or another Ireland is pretty much left untouched, though I've met people who have rather thick accents, kind of like this, it's not so strange to me. But I understand if it is for others :) Yeah's pretty bad and since I had to sit through it twice it made things feel even more awkward, but Luke dose seem to show genuine respect of boundaries when it comes to the word "No." And it's been shown that Luke isn't a total ass the whole time XD
