    Dr. Lang presents some good perspectives and suggestions. The is a need for community commitment to limit distraction (an off-task laptop screen hurts the community). But rather than combatting distraction, think about gaining attention, which is a limited and valuable resource. Some of the chat comments about when students are most likely to pay attention are helpful reminders: this will be on the test, humor, storytelling, instructor moves around classroom, group work, games, something unusual, other students present. Wonder, revisiting, and creating space by taking a break aren't necessarily inefficiencies, but can be helpful to allow material to be digested and synthesized. I really like the thought that as teachers we are stewards of student's attention!

    Y'all should share this video with your phone sales staff! After 3 days, 2 different sales people, and an email THIS video gave me the insight into the product. Advice given on the phone was scripted, the tech never answered my direct question about service and kept defaulting to the script. I almost walked away completely. Also.....offer a trial period, it would be nice to test drive and get hands-on before making the desition.

    According to the GED.com web site, "The GED® test has a passing score of 145 for each test subject." That should be sufficient. A low score on the writing portion however, would probably keep you from the GED® College Ready or GED® College Ready + Credit level. For more information on the RLA test, visit ged.com/about_test/test_subjects/language_arts/ Your state Department of Education website might also have some guidance on this question.

    When I took RLA practice test, I passed scoring 150 and my extended response took 0, but I took the actual test, I failed with scoring 143 and my extended response got 0 score, so my question is if I do well in other parts and can't do well in extended response well, will I pass?

    When does the ged passing score expire in 2019? Btw i live in florida

    • @adulteducation943
      @adulteducation943 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris. The score does not expire in 2019, but I don't live in Florida so it may be a different rule there. I would check with your state department of education site at www.fldoe.org/academics/career-adult-edu/hse for more information.

  • @adulteducation943

    Hi Vladimir. I contacted GED Testing Services and this is the answer I got. Hope it helps. "The scores are primarily done by computer, with the biggest exception being the Reasoning through the Language Arts rescore process, where the essay portion is reviewed by a few different people to check for errors in scoring it. For more details about applying and training, you would need to check with Pearson VUE."

    The new policy for the RLA will change in 2019. Will this be true?

    • @adulteducation943
      @adulteducation943 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't heard of a change across the board but perhaps a change will occur at your state? I would check your state department of ed web site for updates to this.

    • @adulteducation943
      @adulteducation943 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. You can request and see your scores on the GED.com website. If you haven't already, just create an account there and all testing done should reflect in your account. You can also get more information about this from the testing center you use.

  • @adulteducation943

    There are many programs in each state that offer classes to help you obtain your GED credential. Check with your local community college system to see what is available in your area. Your state department of education web site should also have information. Getting your GED is a first step towards a higher paying job. As for how long, that depends on how soon you start, how much effort you put forth and market conditions in your area. Good luck!
