sir would you know if I could take the reverse off of one and put it onto another David Bradley
Not sure as i do not have a unit with a reverse setup you might check Mr Jordan's videos. www.youtube.com/@catawba7cherokee
Well done sire hope to see lots more i came looking at your allis Chalmers g but boy you got lots i like . Will you do an update on the old allis
That's the plan!
Glad it was of help
Man I know it’s not the same but this video just saved me so much time on my HD6g
What motor is on your Bradley?
I opted for A Harbor Freight PREDATOR 6.5 HP (212cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine. The original engine was not salvagable.
I am looking to do the same. Are you happy with the 6.5 motor?
Did not know whether to go bigger or smaller?
@@genescott3989 The origianl Engine on this unit was a 5 HP. so i went with the most economical closest to the original HP.
Thank for the help!
We had one when I was a kid big Wisconsin engine and a three bladed mower
I just picked one up in sinilar condition. Had a very straight David Bradley hood sitting on it, the guy sold me the hood for $20 and gave me the Cunningham. Is there any value to these? I can't find much. Just a frame and 2 good tires (rims are shot). Not sure whether to fix it up or try to find another owner to give it the love that it needs.
Thank you for your excellent video
Catalog weight for #5 Jewell with Rites inertia governor is 3150#. The Rites governor has been removed on this one.
Flywheel grease zerk does nothing with a sealed bearing installed.
thanks for the video, I have had this happen before on my 47 H, and fixed it, but forgot what I did yesterday it happened again when getting it out to do some garden work... the shop manual isnt really helpful on this topic.
Glad it helped
Converse Louisiana
Been there
The fuel pump fills the kerosene bowl so you'll just use that for gas. Take the needle valve from one of the others
It's not a 6. They have different flywheels
The spec sheet measurements verify it is a 3HP
Drill it straght through from 12 oclock to 6 O'Clock directly through the brass shaft with a #43 drill bit and tap it for a 6-40 bolt. That will lock the epoxy to thr shaft.
Thanks for the info !! I didn't know that and I've got that ex kind !! It's hard to bleave more people haven't liked your post !!! It probably because it's not been sent around the world yet !!
Dats me ever week🎉
When you select reverse and it's in high range does the high range lever automatically switch over to low by itself. That's how my 1938 AO functions.
Not sure I haven’t experienced that
i use my David Bradley all the time, in winter i plow snow, this summer i graded and kind of leveled my driveway
That’s a pretty cool tool. I use 2 nuts and tighten them together and then back it off using the bottom nut. I’ve always done that. I didn’t realize some one made a tool for it. I just thought that was the way it was done.
I have used the two nuts tightened together, but saw this and decided to splurge
Thanks ..broken bolts such a pain😊😊😊
You re welcome
Thank goodness I came across this video and a few others, my M wouldn't come out of first. The retainer for the pin was out on the pedestal side and I guess the lever came up and would not engage any of the rails. After freeing up the lever to slide up an down due to rust I re-assembled the assembly and used a 3/8th bolt all is well for now. The pin in the lever worn which I was surprised. Thanks for this video!
You are welcome
Gonna need a shopping cart like that these days to haul your cash to Walmart in order to fill the regular shopping cart with groceries 😂
I get a 1949 John Deere model A. And I'm struggling right now. Because I don't know if I have to put an oil pipe through the block or the block actually naturally has one that is cast into the head
Have you checked the Model A parts manual diagram for the indicated area? I know on the early "Bs" the tappet lubrication line come out of the governor side and ran in a tube over the top. Kenny Kizzle has more experience with the A's.
These old walk- behind tractors fascinate me. I have two gravelys & I just bought a David Bradley at an auction. Thanks for sharing.
This one as shown in the pictures was a wreck. Now it is functional, however the belt alignment needs work. I hope you were able to gain some insight with the video

Good video. Im in central louisiana as well. By Marksville La.
I am glad yu were able to gain something from it
You coming along really well I sent you a email

I wish I had what is left
The engine is seized, and stored inside. With many other parts including shutters. would discuss parting with it.
I’m interested let me know thanks
@@redwatts6758 It can be had along with the engine, Head, and other parts that came with it. do you have an offer??
I have tried to figure out away to talk with you but won’t let me through so you tell me what you want for it
@@redwatts6758 $350.
I have a few John Deere L parts you can have but between it and the allis G is that a allis C ??
The sad tractor in between is an AC B
The tractor is question is and allis chalmers B customized by Thompson machinery in cooperation with AC for use in the cane fields of South Louisiana

You need to replace those connectors they don't look like their connection is very good
It will receive a total rewiring soon
They top post looks like it needs to be tightened some more and the terminal on that large red cable could probably benefit from being changed up a little more. Aside from that, maybe try insulating things some more. A bicycle inner tube around the coil, some heat shrink around the terminals etc. No clue if it'll help but it couldn't hurt.
I am looking for a insulating boot like on a spark Plug.
Looks like great projects
Projects is the appropriate word
@@g.waynebeard4642 always better than being at the junk yard giving them another life
I was hoping that after you went thru the John Deere L you would have said but other than that she’s cherry like the old C.W McCall song “classified”
My Son's comment was "I've seen better stuff at junkyards" She sadly has too many parts missing. Nice radiator, Usable Fenders, grill and hood Unless i find a donor unit. She will have to provide parts for others. You takem where you find em.
Thanks! I got a box of parts that used to be one of these motors. One of your pictures here helped me understand how to get the governor assembly back together correct.
Glad you gained insight
Hello Mr Beard, I’m about as deep into dad’s ‘41 B. One cylinder is beautiful and the other evidently has a crack or pinhole from the water jacket. Thank you for your “Ramblings” as you call it. There’s a lot of information and details that can get overlooked, but with your play by play dialogue it is easier and more enjoyable to follow along. I have the same history of just tearing into my “toys”, however I am learning that a brief tutorial can save time, money & headaches! Bless’ns to ya sir, Tedd
It is my hope all will learn from mistakes
1/64. It easier if you use decimal instead of fractional. Also I never knew that the cylinder was laid horizontally
👍
question, how do you bush hog with a belt pull gear box. is it even possible? i have a farmall with a 90 degree belt drive. can i replace it with a pro so i can use attachment?
No idea
If it doesn't have a pto then you can't use pto implements. What model farmall do you have? Most had a pto and belt pulley
Even has the planter gears on break housings for front mounted planters!
Just subscribed. Promotion that works - Promo sm !!
I have one of these rakes I'll look at mine and givey 3 cents worth
Sounds great 👍
Once you get her primed she kicks right off
U have 2 look on of transmission from the gear shift 4 the serial no. OMG 11 19 2O22
Well you said you was going inside to test the solenoid and the video ended. Just my luck. I was hoping that was part 1 of a series of videos because that's where I'm at with my 1953 NAA.
Yes the solenoid was bad. Life has put other projects on the front Burner. Building a barn extension for my various tractor projects. I hope to get back to this one soon.
would a fella be able to get a blueprint of your splitting stand?
I will chat with my son about it.
Thank you in advance
You are welcome
WAYNE, EXCELLENT WORK. HOW WIDE IS DIMENSION OF SHIFT LEVER WHERE IT FITS THE RAIL?
I don’t remember. At least 1/4”
I pulled the head on our 1942 B. I didn't find a line passing thru from the block to the tappet line. But I don't know if its right. It appears to me like the line just squirts into the head, then passes thru to the adapter you have there. Did you learn anything more about this? I'm really questioning the tappet oiling on mine. If its sufficient.
As I tried to explain this 1943 tractor is a Frankenstein tractor made up multiple years parts. At some point in the 1940s Deere changed the method of oil supply to the tappets. There were two methods That I know of. One was with an external oil line running over the top of the block and head to an oil tray above the tappets the second had a line thru the block and head ending with a fitting below the tappets which ran to an oil distribution tube above the tappets
I have a question. On our 1942 B, there is not an oil line. Just the fitting on the head bolt that the compression fitting line that goes up to the tappet attaches to. After running for a bit, I needed to take the tappet cover off to recheck the clearance. I noticed there isn't a lot of oil up there. The outside tappets were wet, but not the center ones. The tappet oil tube is clear. But only has holes on the outer ends. Is there supposed to be holes for the inner tappets? If not, how do the inside tappets get lubed. Note, I only ran it about 2 minutes. The carb was acting up.
I believe the oil is supposed to run down the tube and drip on the inner tappets
I've got a 43 Farmall H I bought at a farm aid auction in 1986 for $255.00. Two years later I dropped the pan and replaced the aluminum war bearing. Been running fine every sense. Has a Horn loader that will pick up loads like you wouldn't believe.
Sounds great
