MH4U session: A shiny Dalamdur Appears!
EDIT: I thought of a new title for the video. That is all.
Well, having unlocked the shah dalamdur, why not fight it as well?
The differences between Shah Dalamdur and it's gray counterpart are it's starting position, armored weakpoints, and the scalding floor after left in the wake of some of it's attacks. The challenge the Shah presents comes mainly from some the weak points hardening, which results in lowered damage output. Its elemental weaknesses aren't all that great either, so the bonus damage isn't anything to write home about. The best spot to attack when it hugs the cliff ends up being the vestigial limbs near the tail, as the the back spike is usually in the armored state, and the claws have a chance of being armored as well. All that to say that the fight takes longer. Still, it's armor looks pretty cool, and the helmet gives 3 points to the edgemaster skill, so there s a reason to hunt it. That about wraps up this description.

for a better experience i suggest you to increase the depth stereostopy in the graphics setting on citra, instead of increase the internal resolution up to 720p, great gameplay btw :p

Sorry for the low volume, I lowered the output due to how loud the sound was blaring through the speakers. I didn't expect it to affect the game this much. Well, time to save up for that capture card and start a fresh playhtough of MHGU. Until then, I'll be posting random hunts here and there, and maybe start up a MH3U playhtough. This playthrough is being done on the PabloMk7 fork of the 3ds citra emulator. The two goals were to get to a similar position as my 3ds save. The first is getting the endagame gear needed to fight a GQ 140 shagaru magala. The second is to 'complete' the climb to G- ranl special permit with longsword only. Due to one arena quest to get some arena coins, that will look suspect.
It is being done on pc. I hope my answer will suffice.
It's amazing how you hunt all the G3 rank monsters, only I really find it difficult, what a good hunter you are
thanks for the compliment. All the monsters have attacks that can be baited out depending on your position. RNG will still be involved but it's possible. When RNG goes against you, well, the stuff in this video happens

There's no need to apologize @delsol01, take your time. I'm glad you uploaded, I really enjoy your journey through MH4U, it's one of the MH games that I have spent the most hours and it feels kind of nostalgic even though I still play on my 3DS to this day.
What recording system are you using ive seen it before i just can't remember the name
Im using AMD's adrenaline software, as OBS is all over the place when I use it. I'll figure OBS out eventually

With a longsword, it's quite challenging and at times very frustrating. Sometimes the monster attack RNG completely shuts down any chance to do a roundslash. It's still fun though, and I'm getting closer to catching up to my 3ds save, which has almost all the best blademaster armor sets and lots of great talismans that more or less allow me to gem in a any skill I want. Good times ahead.

I can try, but I don't have the endgame equipment needed for speedrun attempts. These sessions are also just a pure playthrough using an LS to get the the same spot as my 3DS save, which has all the fancy bells and whistles. I guess I can break up the recordings into two or three, which was what I was doing more of when I started.

I've been watching your videos for a while now and I'm excited to see your journey throughout MH4U. I think it would be nice if you could show us your gear as you upgrade it, skill, weapons, and all of that.
