เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 มิ.ย. 2015
Welcome to my classical guitar building channel. My name is Dieter Schneider, and I'm a hobby luthier with a passion for crafting high-end classical guitars. As a hobby luthier, I spend hours perfecting my craft, studying the art and science of guitar building, and experimenting with different materials and techniques to create instruments that are not only beautiful, but also sound amazing.
Some of the topics you can expect to learn about on this channel include:
Wood selection and preparation
Bracing patterns and techniques, including the 7-fan bracing method
Soundboard carving and shaping
Neck carving and shaping
Fretboard preparation and installation
Bridge installation and setup
Finishing techniques, such as French polishing
Tonewoods, bracing, soundboard, neck, fretboard, bridge, and French polishing are crucial in understanding the various components and techniques involved in crafting a high-quality classical guitar.

Beautiful guitar. Too rapid a video, though.. I would have enjoyed a longer, more detailed one.
That was Great! ❤Thank you for speeding it up.Very Inspiring thank you for sharing your Excellence!
They say they hate it just so hey can say “hand made”. But secretly they love it, are afraid to admit it, and wish they had one 😂
Hi Dieter, that sounds nice ! What a feeling it must be to play the instrument you built. Greetings from France
Thank you. It sure is! :)
Beautiful playing, my dear friend ❤
Many thanks!!
Nice video. Sad that TH-cam's algorithm cut most of the audio in the second half out.
Is it possible to CNC the fretboard to the exact dimesions and slopes and glue it to the neck or for some reason I need to shape it on the guitar?
I did that on my latest build, and it works perfect. I taper it down from 6mm thickness at the nut, down to 4 mm at the bass side, and 3mm to the treble side (at the soundhole). I also hammer in the frets before gluing to the neck (using slightly larger fret slots to avoid bow. I also use super glue).
Why not? The final shaping will be done by hand. If the CNC can save some time and do a good job, why not use it? I would! Good job!
Thanks, Yes, in my opinion CNC i a very helpful tool for luthiers, and in the end it's the result that matters, not the method.
Beautiful rosette!
Thank you!
Mad skills. The headstock treatment is quite well done!
Amazing video and absolutely beautiful final product.
Thank you very much!
Que belleza amigo, gracias por tu conocimiento
Muchas gracias
Amazing work! What program do you use to create the CNC cut files? I have a shapeoko as well and am hoping to use it in a similar way you do.
Thanks, I use Fusion 360
why not use a rasp?
It's just that I like this better, and it does not create any fine dust. I use a Shinto rasp for the neck though
Do you have business contact?
But that sqeek is real nice to hear though
The reason they hate CNC macnines is because modern guitars are produced better and show up how bad the old ways are, but at the time it was the only way and then came progress.
Yep
Not using the tools that we have today is crazy, they hate it only if a smaller procuction luthier uses it but they dont complain because Martin, Gibson. Ibanez etc use CNC as a core of their company, many even own guitars made by them on CNC but yeah you are "cheating" I just got one entry level I am new and it has been a big challenge for me to start using it since I didnt know nothing about CAD/CAM
I totally agree. The results are more important than the process as well.
Fantastic video! I recently did all of this but with a chisel and tiny table saw instead of a CNC router. Would be very interested to see a video of your rosette construction.
How did you prevent blowout while drilling the tuner holes?
Putting a piece of wood between
Hello dieter can I ask what the dimensions are to make a classical guitar neck and heel can you provide a plan with dimensions I will pay if needs be.
Nice. What CNC machine you use?
Thanks, Shapeoko

What happened with sound??😔
Amazing
Thanks
Me too rosetta
Brother named that finishing oil!
Funny that you love the rosette construction , it would drive insane
any recommendations for self learners? books online courses etc?
Very beautifull project, loved it! Just a couple of questions. 1. At 7.56 did you heated the board before putting it on the mould? 2. 5.15 what are the tiles made of? Where can I get some or make them? 3. What woods did you used for the guitar? 4. Do you have plans on pdf of your guitar? :)
lovely. Thank you. Where did you learn?
Thank you! I'm self taught
