Hi lads I've gotta part with my baby so I'm thinking about doing the same thing as you and give it to charity auction??it's a beautiful car.special edition blackline GT 159 styled by Bertone on a 2008 plate.2.0 jts petrol engine tax and m.o.t and electric windows leather interior and 18in teledials but I can't drive due to have a operation in my lower back and left knee and has a kenwood screen with reverse camera and dvd in car phone connectivity hands free also stainless steel exhaust fitted and Thatcham alarm system is great for lower insurance and it's to good condition to let rot I'm looking for a bike to change it so my right leg can do the gears..but I'd totally unsuitable to crush can you help. I'm in Dunfermline Scotland KY120BT so please get in touch if you think of anything it's a cry for help with this people and I've no idea.?

I got my GT for £995. It's a 09 plate and has 96k miles on it, runs perfectly. MOT was done 2 days before I brought the car

Lovely cars, i have a 2010 159 with the 1750 Tbi motor which is of course 100% Alfa, re-mapped to 240bhp so goes well, sadly still has the crappy GM M32 gearbox which i had to get rebuilt.

Nice video presentation. As far as parts availability is concerned, dealer specific items at quite difficult to get hold of, I agree. Having said that, companies such as Alfa Workshop and EB Spares have a wide range of products for the GT. and I have always found what I need and usually delivered within a week or so.

Maybe now I have the cheapest GT 1.9 in the UK D: Bought as a project for £600, has MOT until June, 163k miles, a remap, and almost no service history. So far it needs: timing belt + pump, thermostat, full service, door handle replacing, parking sensors replacing, AC fixed, horn fixed, and a full suspension refresh. Still a lot of fun to drive tho :)

It's people like you that give alfa a bad name parts are not hard to find owning an alfa is sublime go and buy something else and see how you get on with it.leave an alfa to people who love them.

Whether it be a bus, a train, a plane having a window to look out of is almost essential, especially if you are travelling by yourself.

Back in the day it would always have been the car, no speed cameras, trains were always delayed or on strike and planes never took off on time there was always 25 finals calls to get the last drunk out of the bars. I’d have been there & back before the rest got there 🤭

Getting a window seat on a train makes a big difference to the quality of your journey, especially on a national rail journey.

Sean obviously got quite lucky, Tom missed his connection at Preston but the scenery that Sean was then able to enjoy on his last 100 minutes to Edinburgh was just lovely. Glad that you got such a nice day in terms of the weather to enjoy the roads in Scotland.

I love my 2.0JTS! I have had it 8 years. I went with other GT owners on a tour of the Peak District recently.

You really should try another one or few of this type of video because it's well worth watching and great to see. But I would maybe do it over a longer distance (give poor Tom a chance). I completely agree with Sean about the Scottish scenery but in all fairness he had a terrific day weather-wise with which to enjoy it. The only thing I might offer him in terms of advice on the A-road between the M74 and the outskirts of Edinburgh just be careful because you do get some real chancers and idiot drivers weaving in and out trying to overtake either racing to the Scottish capital or the other direction to the M74 and South.

I saw about 3 or 4 of the PL stadium in 24 hrs challenges before and I think it's probably Carrow Road in Norwich that proves the killer almost every time.

I bought one last Friday, 2.0 jts, black leather seats, bose stereo. Paid €800 for it. Last sunday the engine threw a bearing and it needs a new engine right now 😆

Tom was very unlucky not to get a seat on the train next to a window. I am aware that some seats obviously do exist, but they must make up about less than 10% of all the seats on a train. Sean is getting some really nice scenery after crossing into Scotland.

There's no direct train service from Edinburgh airport to Edinburgh Waverley. However, you can either take the Skylink Bus from outside the terminal building or the new Edinburgh Trams. Either takes over half an hour into the centre of Edinburgh.

Enjoyed the video tremendously. Love the alfa. My mate had a 164 3ltr v6 24v and it was a beautiful car. 1990. Though I love the brera spider.

normally, in a medium size country such as the UK, i'd take the train if i'm going to be spending most of my time in the city. i'll take the car if i need to be in the suburbs (or i need the car to get around in places not walkable and with poor public transport). planes are just a hassle. i'd only fly between countries, or in large countries in the US, canada, Russia, etc.
