Very well done video. I'll add a little tip: at 8:20, you "cd .." and then "cd fun". I think you could have just done "cd ." (dot) or "cd ../fun". I'm all about efficiency! 😀
All these vids are excellent - you are the best 'splainer 😀
Do you know why the systemd override niceness would not appear when using top? Thanks!
Rly good content and clean explanation dude ! =)
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial sir i do enjoy your lectures. Please keep them coming.
I'm encountering issues with using NAT in VirtualBox. Whenever I try to download packages, it fails. I've also tried pinging google and other websites, but with no success. However, switching to a bridge adapter resolves the problem, although I'm unsure if this is the best solution. Do you have any suggestions?
Hey there! I am studying for the RHCSA and just curious if you plan on making more content! Cheers!
Hi there. I am aiming to get back to producing content again here as soon as possible - Especially to refresh some more of the now outdated videos. Thank you!
@@beanologi Awesome! I can't wait to see them!
Great stuff! Please note that working with a containerfile is no longer part of the objectives.
Explanation is clear and easy to understand. Thank you!
can i get your scripting file from this video please?
Very informative and clearly explained thank you
I passed RHCSA today, your videos helped a lot so I came here to say thanks!
What's wrong with the more simple rd.break again ???
You did a great job of explaining but I still absolutely hate autofs. whoever decided this needed to be on the exam......
This is actually an awful video for someone learning this, just keep it simple. Use the material from whatever booked you used and simply translate it without adding too much
Thank you so much for your hard work. This stuff is very underrated.
Thank you for this homelab. I followed all the videos and it works fine.
Outstanding job, Beanologi!
Hi. Are u doing this on the server or client or both ?
I am about to take th exam. does this method still work today
Beanologi, if you have a second for a question - or anybody else - I'm using 9.4. I do realize this video is from over a year ago now. There doesn't appear to be a "Container Management" group from what I can see. Is there a new name? Or am I missing something? It appears to acknowledge the group, but there are no packages in it.
Hi, newer documentation for RHEL suggests to run `dnf install container-tools` to add the metapackage for container management. I suggest trying that. Thank you for bringing this to my attention as it will help me note what videos could use a refresh.
@@beanologi Great. I believe I know what happened now. After I read about container-tools (I was in a hurry for work), I tried using the @"" notation when it's not actually required for container-tools. Thanks again! Awesome videos, man!
Beanologi, you have the best demeanor. Great job, man!
I throughly appreciate your video but jeese does this kinda scare me. So many opportunities in this sequence of actions that can go wrong and so much to memorize for a single item off the exam objectives. Yay How are we even supposed to know proper reboot signal hot keys if the exam environment is unknown? I can’t even get this to work on Hyper-V VM. Jfc
Understandable. Here is a tip that might help you familiarize with the exam environment. Look up the TH-cam video published by Red Hat about “Inside a certification exam”. You will see what the tools allow you to do to manage the vm and send inputs
@@beanologi you’re awesome dude thank you for helping us all
Hi ,while using init=/bin/bash ,and after CTRL+x , I am not able to get bash-5.1# , it got stuck at "Received SIGTERM from PID 1 (systemd). " What can I do now ?
Beanlogi, my error that I am getting is when copying .pub key to hosts saying it doesnt exist. However, the state of creating ssh key for the user is changed and the key is present in .ssh. Any ideas?
please share the exact command so we can do practice now
When we are asked to resolve issue where the web server is not accessible, when we add http to firewall-cmd, should we always list the zone like public, private or is it acceptable to simply run firewall-cmd - -add-service=http --permanent ? OR firewall-cmd - -zone public - -add-service=http - -permanent ? I'm confused between this as I do not want to add to public and then for it to not function as asked ?
Thanks for getting back. My question was actually, how to add http as a service to configure a web server??
Hey @beanologu, do you know if the vdo is actually on the v9 version of RHCSA? I learned the lvm but vdo seems more complicated..
Hi there, I felt like writing a lot and I hope this helps you… I’d like to first get this out of the way: So, to ensure NDA compliance, I don’t share what I’ve personally been tasked with on any exams - I stick to public authoritative sources and documentation. Therefore, when I get questions like, “is XYZ actually on the RHCSA?”, I am like, “ehhhh…well…”, and feel compelled to give this explanation while neutrally pointing you in the right direction using a “clean-room” approach consistent with my videos. Okay… anyways, as you probably know, Red Hat publicly releases the objectives list for their exams. Those objectives are authoritative information with no weird “catch” other than sometimes being a bit vague I guess and also that they are only reflecting the latest version of the exam they offer. At this time, the published objectives don’t mention disk compression or vdo. There was a brief span of time where the RHCSA 9 objectives page did feature a disk compression objective (shown in my vdo video using waybackmachine) but that is not the case right now. I say all this because I notice sometimes that candidates use a training manual book from a 3rd party author and that’s fine for learning concepts but they should still make sure to also stay in sync with the published objectives list too since its up to Red Hat at the end of the day to issue the exam in the way they wish. Side note: If someone happened to still have an older RHCSA 8 Exam enrollment laying around, they would generally benefit from reviewing a snapshot of the objectives from when that was the newest exam available. Waybackmachine and other archiving services can be handy for this. Yep, that hopefully clarified things. Have a nice week!
Sir, I have to tell you that you're doing a really great job on these videos. Thanks very much for this.
Very handy, thank you!
This video and previous one related to firewalld is pure gold. All the points are made crystal clear with enough explanations and demo. Kudos to the video author. Also, this channel deserve much more subscriptions. I will make sure my linux friends will subscribe to you.
Where are you buddy 😢
Same. TH-cam misses you 😢
man, you are a life saver!!!!
what color scheme are you using for vim ? thanks for you vid
You’re welcome. I didn’t change any vim-specific config - I tweak the default gnome-terminal colors and crank up the brightness sliders for each of them in the settings so everything is high contrast to maximize readability.
Hey man thanks so much for all these RHCSA videos. Without a doubt they're going to be a huge reason why I'm going to pass my upcoming RHCSA exam. Very concise and easy to follow.
Update - PASS
@@natepowell2737 congratulations mate! which of the videos in this playlist was core and critical to your passing and the exam in general? which of the objectives in the course outline do you feel you should have practiced more?
to make persistent do i have to add <autoconnect yes > ie: nmcli c m eth0 autoconnect yes ipv4.addresses xxx.xxx.xx.x
The "while condition" script did not work for me. However, when I used double parentheses instead of expr in both instances, it worked. For example "while test $(($NUMA + $NUMB)) -lt $NMAX instead of "while test $(expr $NUMA + $NUMB) -lt $NMAX"
Thank you for showing this faster method and explaining the commands.
I created the shell script as root, changed the permissions but unable to execute it as a regular user.
i have been watching your videos for the past couple of days and they are just great especially that i am preparing for rhcsa , i know its been a while since you made this video i hope you plan to make more quality videos like this ,can you please make a video on how to setup an update server that acts as a single update point for all the servers on the network rather than updating each server seperately , i searched all over the internet and read many books but no luck , since i am coming from a microsoft background the concept of an update server in microsoft enviroment is nothing new , but in linux it seems something else . thank you again for the top quality videos your way of explaining things is far and beyond of what we are used to and keep up the good work ,you deserve the title of instructor of the year .
Easy to follow. Thank you!
Thanks for the videos!
Thank you ❤
Amazing, just wish you showed partprobe in action while doing the partition
Very informative video thank you so much
Hi...Do we need create a exclusive user to work with containers? And does it need to have root privileges (add it to wheel grp). Also it is mentioned in the RHCSA doc that " Podman is a stateless utility and requires a full login session. Podman must be used with an SSH session and cannot be used in a sudo or an su shell"...Please clarify.
Thank you for the RHCSA videos! Will now watch your RHCE ones for the exam! :D
