When a cow escapes, it's time for fencing!
HANG ON. Start again , you only dug half a hole
There was definitely the correct hole dug, our sore arms can vouch for that lol
Can you get access to Graslan granules they kill all broad leaf plants and shrubs but not grass species, they would be ideal along fence lines and help to clear thickets without the erosion that usually goes with disturbing the soil, do not use it close to any mature trees that you want to keep, stay about one and a half times the height of the tree away
Thanks for the info. We will look into the granules for sure.
Always a good laugh when Tom gets behind the camera. Thank you for the update!!
Great video Tim and Jules
Great video Tom and Jules
😂😂😂 weeds aren't the problem round up is
Love these videos.. and then a surprise baby cow!! Maybe its a throwback to a grand parent and not the fact Mama was a dirty whoha lol
@kelliecharles8792 Thanks so much. Haha yes, hopefully the black gene is just strong with this one 😂
It is completely ok to have many favorites lol
🤩
good stuff guys , keep at it 👍
Asslam-o-aalikum thanks for very nice sharing You are doing very well keep it up
@@bakramandivlog962 Thanks for watching. Lots more content to come. Stay tuned...
The previous owner never took any pride in his fences or Weed management
@@Bernie5172 Yes, unfortunately it is in desperate need of some TLC. We are so determined to bring it back to life though.
Thats a beaut looking farm Reminds me of the farm where I lived for 20 years at Newrybar/Bangalow
@@Bernie5172 We love it. It's such a beautiful part of the world.
the tobacco weed bush can kill cattle and dogs.
We have learnt so much about the weeds on the property. All bad for cattle unfortunately. Big plans coming up for eradicating the weeds and restoring it back to good pastures.
get yourself a terrier type dog or kelpie .blue healer, They will soon dispatch the snakes
@@Bernie5172 the more we clean up the place, the less snakes we see thankfully.
Mam how is breed name is the cow
@@ratulmr-yl4sm We have a bit of a mixture at the moment. Some are Droughtmaster, some are Brahman, some we are unsure of. Our plan is to sort through them and only keep those breeds we want on the property.
least the escaping bull makes the decision easy for you. one way ticket off the farm
He sure will. We definitely don't want difficult cattle like that hanging around. Just got to catch him again.
@@_tomandjules_ don't envy you that task, but wish you luck 👍
Love your venture, I hope you achieve what you have dreams for.
Thanks Steve. Lots ahead. Thanks for watching.
Cows having respect you make me laugh lol have to love ergon
They are so rude lol Yep. We will keep fighting the good fight though!
electric fence will bring out the best in the herd
@@spacemonkey-yj7ss so true. Making our way around electrifying the boundary fence first. Hopefully that will bring them into line. 🤞
Good on ya Jules.. You keep him working.. and yes those are dodgy fence repairs, but hey it's far better than it was.. and use steel.. it will last many life times. You really need a small tractor and an excavator.. but I'm sure like all of us it's a $ thing.. Great content and a pleasure to watch a young couple giving it a go on a beautiful piece of the plant..
Thanks Mark. Yes lots of work ahead. A tractor & excavator is definitely on the wish list. Thanks for watching.
What a bountiful land ! And humans are wasting it for being a city CITIZENS ! Until FARMERS comes to life and transforms the idle lands into garden paradise of Eden !
Hopefully after a bit more hard work it will be looking more like paradise.
Long hard slog, hope you achieve your goals - what part of this beautiful country are you in
@@Arnold-um7zr Yes, lots of work ahead. We are on the Tablelands in Queensland, Australia.
@@_tomandjules_ a beautiful part of the country up there - a bit better than Brisbane
Loved it as always!! Cannot wait for the next installment.
stumbled across your channel and enjoyed the story so far . will look forward to following your journey 👍
Awesome, thank you!
Best view for the house, plus the winds would be amazing in summer save on air con. Not that Milla Milla gets as hot as down the hill. Baby Cows!!!
Yaaas! We have had 10 new baby cows and anticipate another 3-4 very soon. Exciting times.
What a mixed bunch! We have a paddock here we call the misfits lol
We sure do. Haha. That's a great idea.
Another productive session on the farm. I'd never get sick of that view. Great job guys. Hope you're feeling better Julie. ❤
@@monicacharles7277 I'm much better now thankfully.
Awesome idea!! Cutting down time for you both. I hope you feel better soon.
@@kelliecharles8792 yes, attempting to work smarter not harder and it paid off. 😄
What a busy weekend you had. Absolutely love the morning views.
Loved watching the tagging and branding process. You guys have got this.
That is an amazing morning view! Cows were all like well good morning do you have our breakfast?
@@kelliecharles8792 I couldn't believe the cows get to enjoy that view most mornings!
Love watching this, biggest question is though have you or Tom actually ever had any cattle experience? Looks like your pro's!! Plus Tom petting the cows head while tagging is a bit cute lol
@@kelliecharles8792 Glad you enjoyed this one. Tom has had lots of experience growing up on his family's farm, I however have zero cattle experience. All very new to me and taking Tom back to his roots.
@@_tomandjules_ We cannot wait to come up for a visit one day, just an experience in a half what you are both doing!
Looks great, love the videos, how many acres??
Thanks so much. Just under 150 acres.
Gotta love a fireplace ❤
Loving watching your journey
Yay a new video, your property is huge. Fresh water creek is always a plus.
Top job Julie
Just stumbled onto your channel, we have 20 acres in Maine so we’re on a similar journey. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
Maine looks beautiful. I will have to check out your channel also. Lots of work ahead of us but we are excited to see where the journey takes us.
@@_tomandjules_ Thanks, we love it here, except for the winters 😆
Every bit of trouble shooting with your drone says they had to send it away to a service center and then it ended up having to be replaced, apparently a common issue :( One person who lives in Cairns had to send theirs to Melbourne to be repaired and they sent a new one. Hopefully you sort it out, loved the video today!!
Bummer. Thought that might be needed. Glad it's not just me though.
Aww No Reggie this time! Love seeing how your getting the shed area cleaned up, and yes I would to be not overly comfortable sharing with the snakes lol
Reggie will look so good once you guys get him treated, what a snuggly boy.
That's gotta be New Zealand, bro. I was expecting to see Wal, and the dog come out. 👍
Not NZ but Far North Qld in Australia. It definitely does have a Footrot Flats vibe though.
@@_tomandjules_ Bloody Queenslanders. 👍 from Penrith, NSW.
Looking good Chip and Joanna
Cows are such curious creatures. Found that out when we moved to our property in dairy country, Tas😁. The rain is one thing but the wind ... hate the wind. Loving your videos as feel like I can catch up with you now we don't work together anymore❤ Mel (van der Boom)
Looking good, such a stunning area you have gotten!
