keep it up with the good videos ali much love from new york😁
Thank you 🙏
May I please have the Make and Model of the Grill PLEASE? Thank you sir.
Heya! It's just called the Fennek Grill! It's their light and portable one 😊
Hello from San Francisco California. .
Fantastic work man, this looks and feels amazing! Beach looks simply brilliant 👏👏
Thanks mate! It's such a beautiful spot and I was so lucky with the weather!
Long time - no see. Welcome back. Grand video.
Thanks dude! It's been a long time indeed!
New subber, just about to seal seam mine
Thank you! Sorry for the delay, how did it go?
I used the same sealant to seam seal my Lanshan 2 pro. I didn’t dilute it and have had no problems with rain getting in. After the sealant had dried I put some talcum powder on the tacky dried sealed areas and then wiped the areas with a damp cloth.
Sounds like you know what you're doing! Mine had been fine and survived several rainy nights so 🤞
Very enjoyable watch. I'm hoping to visit the island tomorrow and have a much better idea after watching your video - thank you 👍
Thanks for your comment! I hope you had a great time on Gigha! It's a really beautiful island!
Cloud inversion = incredible moment.
Thank you, I'll never forget it!
crazy miles..what speed do you hike at.?
Ha I don't think I walk overly fast I just walk all day! Set off early and finish late. I really enjoy walking at different times of the day as the conditions change so much 😊
Inspirational , thank you :-)
Thank you so much for watching!
Camped on that same spot for 3 days in july. My fellas granny and pappa are from there😊 Most beautiful place ive ever been like. ❤
Yeah it's really beautiful! You can't really beat it on a sunny day!
Aww just went here its stunning eh!! 🏴✨🌙
Absolutely stunning indeed!
Interesting, but that is not the PRO version. It definitely looks like the regular version, which you do not need to seam seal... PRO does not have inner tent like you have in yours, there is no seam at the top of the roof on the PRO, just as some examples. But look it up and compare, and you will see the differences. I have both PRO and regular so I can really see the differences. That is a regular Lanshan 2. Sorry mate. :( But if you bought PRO and got regular I would contact the reseller, it must be on their fault. Good luck!
Useful video, thanks for posting, just going to seal mine up. It looks like it would benefit from having an extra guy line attached to the white loops, at the top where you can feel the walking pole. That will stop it moving about at night, they obviously put those loops there for something. Love your cat 👍
great shots, i've got to get back there, i keep missing the good light in glencoe.
Yeah the last time I was there the light was awful. It's good to go early morning / mid day.
Awesome shots!😮 Subscribed! I also have such a channel!
Thanks for the sub! Will follow you back!
What a spectacular scenery, this looks beyond amazing my friend! Breathtaking cinematography!
Thank you mate 🙏
so wel , Ali. 💥
Thank you 😁
Wonderful Ali, what a place! 😀🥾⛰🏴
It really is! Could spend a very long time there!
Absolutely cracking scenery. Honestly Scotland can't be beaten for it. Still have yet to get up to Glencoe. But we desperately want to!
Yep it's incredible and not really that far from Glasgow so pretty accessible!
Nice one bro! ❤
Thanks brother!
Nice one Ali, cracking video mate as always, the drone footage is stunning. The Hidden Valley is a magical place. Next time I’m north of the border it’s my intention to make a beeline for there. Thank you ever so much for sharing mate. I’m off up in to the Lake District on Friday, there will be a little video on my channel if you want to take a look. Thanks for sharing your adventure mate. Cheers Dave. 😀⛰🥾
Thanks mate! Got lucky with beautiful weather the whole time I was there! Where are you planning to go in the Lakes?
@@AliHikes I’m starting at the Old Dungeon Ghyll in the Langdales and doing Bow Fell via the great slab and then Esk pike, Allen crags and Glaramara. The video will be on my channel sometime over the weekend, or maybe tomorrow evening.
Omg, scenery is beyond spectacular my friend. This is brilliant work 🔥🔥
Thanks mate! Glen Coe is honestly so stunning!
Geart minds and all that ....Just as you were walking into the bracken I was thinking "Look out - tick alley!!" Another great video. Somewhere I've yet to visit although HF has a hotel up there so always a possibility.
Ah haha don't you mean Tick Ali? Sorry for the terrible pun 😅. What's HF? Excuse my ignorance! Thank you!
@@AliHikes HF Holidays - organised walking holidays (too old to lug about a tent when I can have a comfortable bed! lol). They have hotels across the country and on treks or for their foreign holidays use additional hotels. They have one in Glen Coe but not been there as yet. Setting off on the Dales Highway Friday with HF - 7 nights in Malhamdale, 3 nights in Sedbergh - should be fairly easy if the weather doesn't get stupidly hot. On a through hike, they take you to point A in the morning, you walk to point B, they collect you and take you to the hotel - next morning they take you to point B, you walk to point C etc.
Great effort and video! I remember that section well - a real workout for the ankles and knees but amazing scenery nonetheless. I was lucky with the weather in April 2023 when I did it.
Thank you very much Andrew! Yeah that section along Loch Lomond is probably the toughest section of the WHW but you're right it's very beautiful so it's worth it! Ah nice I've had quite a range of weather when I've walked it 😂
I feel like the UK/Ireland is the place to be if you want to get a little rain to test out your tent. Where I am at in the US we might get 10 days of heavy rain but as soon as I have a new tent I have seam sealed and want to test the weather will be dry for weeks…. then I am just a sad little man sitting in his tent checking the weather hoping for rain lol. Luckily I have little nephews so I just wait for them to come over and I am like “Boys I have a very important job for you, get the garden hose hold it up in the air and make it rain on this tent while I sit inside it”
Ah haha yeah we aren't short of rain here! We rarely get week long spells without any even in summer! Aww that sounds like a very good solution though! 😅
Saw my first wild otter at Janet's Foss nr Malham Cove last year - magical moment.
Oh wow I didn't realise you got Otters there? Is that part of the Pennine Way?
@@AliHikes I don't think it is - think the Pennine Way is further East. It is on the Dales Highway (and possibly the Dales Way) - doing the DHW in June - Saltaire to Appleby.
Enjoyed that ! New sub here , keep it up 👍🏻🏕
Thanks Ally! 🙏
Absolutely gorgeous upload bud, 🥾🥾🔥
Thanks dude! 🤘
Good to see you back - been a while. Missing the Nisa Trail video. lol
Nisa Trail 😂😂😂
Great to see you back Ali. Really enjoyed your C2C and West Highland Way vids :)
Yeah I'm back and hopefully doing more videos soon! 😊 Thank you 🙏
Hi Ali, great to see you back out again mate. Cracking video, I can honestly say I'd never heard of the Island of Gigha, but I have now and what a beautiful little island it is. Thank you ever so much for sharing your adventure. Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, yeah it was good to get out again, it's been a while! Thanks for your kind words and I hope you're keeping well! Ali
Hitting the track next week!love the cheeky cat 😂
Sounds good! What's your planned itinerary? Or are you winging it? Ha
@@AliHikes hey man,I'm planning an optimistic 5days....so I think Balmaha,Inverarnan,Inveroan,Kinlochleven and so on...hitting 60 next year so it may vary...😁😁😂but I'm feeling good,can't wait!!!
cheers bud, just got the same set up and going to get this bad boy sealed up.
Nice one! Are you doing any long distance hikes with it?
@@AliHikes yeah I'm settingboff from lands end to john o'groats on the 1st July 2023.
Well done man!really enjoyed and what a pace!!!👊
Thanks dude! Have you walked the West Highland Way? I am thinking about completing it over 3 days this year!
@@AliHikes hey man,I'll do it the end of April, week after Easter ...first timer, wish me good!!3days ....😳I'll be happy to do it in5/6!all the best buddy and keep us posted!👊
This looks like the standart Lanshan 2 to me, which should come seam sealed from the factory. might be wrong tho
It's definitely the Pro mate and definitely needed the seam sealing 😊
Yeah that’s so odd as I understood and actually have a lanshsn pro 2 and it doesn’t have that inner fly sheet. The standard lanshsn 2 has the fly sheet. Not that it really matters as long as youre happy ❤
@@cooperyonk hey! It's not an inner fly sheet as such as it's actually attached to the main tent so the "outer" is still a single sheet. How does yours differ? I definitely paid for the pro so I hope it is 😅
@@AliHikes hi, well you got more than 1 watching!! that isn't a pro though unfortunately. the pro doesn't have the black air vent. I prefer the standard anyway as the pro has netted vents on either end to reduce condensation, but this in turn leaves the tent cold and draughty on your feet and head. also the Brucey bonus is you're definitely water tight now as apart from the guy out points it comes factory sealed
Definitely not the pro. The pro doesn’t have the black triangle near the apex, or a seam across the top. It also is strictly single wall.
can I ask what chest bag is that? tnx!
Heya, it's the OMM Chest Pod. You should be able to find them online for around 25 pounds. Great piece of kit. I keep some sponges inside it as well incase any water gets in as it's not waterproof.
Nice Pitch and Seam Sealing
Some crazy mileage! Well done. Brings back great memories of the WHW from 2019. I hope to get back up there and possibly do it solo this time myself. New subscriber 👍
Ha it was pretty crazy mileage but I loved it! I always remember the bigger days better than any others! Glad to bring back your memories, that's why I started recording my walks 😊 thanks for subscribing 🙏
Nice gear bud.👌👌
Thanks pal, wanted to get something a bit lighter for the longer hikes!
Hi Ali. I have another question (sorry!). What tripod thing do you use for you phone. I’m just making the final plans for my next trip
Hi sorry for the delay in getting back to you been super busy! I use a GoPro on a Joby flexible tripod 😂 terrible name for the company, I guess they've never been to Scotland 😂
Thanks for uploading!
You're welcome 🙏
I am six weeks away from doing my second CWT. Your comment at the end was spot on, day 1 you can cover a lot of distance (hard going though on that tarmac). Other days are quite variable. My shortest day doing the trail last year was 8 miles, my best 22 miles (day 1) and of course everything in between for an average of 15 miles/day.
Oooft a second time! That's amazing. How many days did you do it over the first time and how many do you intend to do it over this time? What do you use for navigation? Just a map and compass or do you use some kind of GPS?
Cape Wrath! This one defo on our bucket list! Great video as always! atb Katie and Kev
Yeah it's definitely upping the ante though isnt it! I still think I need to improve my map / navigation skills before I attempt it! Might do the Pennine Way first 🙂
Smashed it bro!
Thanks dude! You wouldn't fancy making me some guitar music for the B roll would you? 😂
These were four great videos thanks. I really want to do the W.H.W in future. I'm well jealous of that cloud inversion 👍🏔️ Keep up the good work dude 🍻
Thanks Tony! Yeah that cloud inversion really made up for the lack of views walking down Glen Coe from Kingshouse. I'd definitely highly recommend the WHW as I've done it 3 times now 😂
Great video. I’m tempted by the GWT too after LeJog last year. I have the same rucksack. What is your front pack? I could do with something too, given the Osprey doesn’t have pockets in the waist strap or shoulder straps.
It's the OMM chest pod. It's not waterproof though so you'll need to keep stuff in like zip lock bags inside it but it's really handy!
@@AliHikes Thanks Ali. Looks great. But it's annoyingly out of stock everywhere it seems. I'll keep looking.
check the chest pods sold by Wild Sky.
I’ve found one on a Swedish outdoor supplies website (available in English).
Brilliant to watch, and I can't wait for the trail! Funny as fook on the bridge !👏👏👏👏
Thanks pal 😂😂😂 did you mean the wobbly bridge or the one that was blocked? 😂
Ey up…. Nice video…. I am very interested in the Cape-wrath challenge …. I am 53 now and have set my sights on doing it b4 i am 60….. Are you going to do the full Cape-wrath at some point..?….. Shame about that bridge thats a big detour…. Thanks for sharing this little trip 👍👍👍
Yeah I'm definitely going to do it but ik still debating whether I do it this summer or next spring! Doing it around May wild be better in terms of more precistabke weather and less midges and tics! I also want to make sure my navigation skills are up to scratch as well! Thanks mate!
