I can speak to what I have witnessed myself, and to what I have been told by those I trust. 1. My elder tells me that the "Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece" is schismatic, and that their mysteries are not genuine. 2. A number of my voice students and friends are chanters and faithful members of the GOC here in Greece, and so I have seen the following with my own eyes: a) parishes full of men, women and children wearing masks, per government regulations, which is blasphemy and puts even our souls in danger of hellfire, should we stand with those blasphemers in prayer; and b) spiritual fathers giving blessings for their spiritual children - including one of my best students, whose voice it nearly destroyed, but for God's intervention and lots of voice exercises in season - to take that demonic shot in the arm that the world was on about a little while back. 3. Whereas, the American wing of their synod was against the masking of our faces, icons of Christ, during Divine Services, and also against the coerced medical injection, the synod here in Greece was openly, and/or covertly going along with the Satanic government agenda - quite possibly allowing their brother bishops in North America to assume the best, as they are won't to do charitably, when in truth and in fact, the worst was true of these Greek Old Calendarists. 4. It is clear to me that in times past, the Greek Old Calendarists were pious and faithful Orthodox Christians. 5. Around the year 2,000, after the repose of the holiest Old Calendarist monks on Mt. Athos, most Old Calendarists in Greece fell into a wide variety of schisms from each other. 6. Dimitrios of the GOC in North America has said that he was blessed to his apostolic work by St. Paisios of Mt. Athos. 7. The faithful of the GOC here in Greece do not consider St. Paisios to be a saint, and these appear to be incoherent. 8. When I was on Mt. Athos last, there were at least 17 different Old Calendarist groups, none of whom are in communion with each other; they will not attend each others' liturgies, nor will they attend liturgies in Athonite monasteries. 9. Elder Philotheos of Paros explained this situation to us, giving the solution in the middle 20th century: "if the Old Calendarists would only agree with each other, the entire Orthodox Church would then return to the Old Calendar." 10. Non-commemorating priests and hieromonks in Greece, and those simple monks like my elder, and laymen who are with them are completely different from the (now) schismatic Old Calendarists. Non-commemoration means that NO bishop's name is said at the liturgy; this does not create a schism, and is the properly canonical, Royal Way of dealing with schismatic heresiarchs like the current EP, "Bart." 11. This ancient path, that of the holy fathers of old, and down to our time, will put a Christian in the very smallest of small groups, with secret liturgies being targeted by police. Contrast that with the GOC here in Greece now being registered with the Hellenic Government, just as the Greek New Calendarist Church is registered with the government. 12. The Monks of Esphigmenou, when St. Paisios was tonsured there, were non-commemorators. They are now schismatics, following the repose of their holy Abbot Euthymios. His wisdom was sadly not inherited by his successors now occupying that holy and great monastery.

Any of the monastic holy fathers, writing to other monks, are in this category. There is so much literature, it's hard to know where to start, for many readers. I would suggest starting with St. Dorotheus of Gaza, who teaches us how to find peace. I would also STRONGLY suggest that you read the life of St. Benedict, written by St. Gregory. And lastly, if you wish to acquire the grace of God in order to allow your chastity to please Him, spend time with other men (in person, in monasteries) who are living chaste lives before the Lord. The lives of the saints are so important, as the primary point of instruction for us; see St. Mary of Egypt, St. Moses the Black, St. John the Long-suffering, St. Taisia, St. Pelagia, St. Moses the Hungarian, and Sts. Cyprian and Justina. They will be your friends and teachers in this endeavor of glorifying God with your body. Yes, this is an important topic. The western heterodox culture around us teaches us to be ashamed, and not to address the matter directly. Thank goodness, the saints are not prisoner to such nonsense, and have addressed it frequently. Very often, the devil seems to be winning a specific battle by keeping the topic away from pious discussion. But God reveals His will to those who seek Him fervently, and it's all in the Holy Tradition.

That promise you mention is yet to be fulfilled, but will be realized under the reign of St. John the Merciful, who will soon take the throne in Constantinople, after the present war is ended. There is always a remnant of those who are saved, in every generation. I agree with the sins you see amongst the clergy and the faithful, and departure from the apostolic example is as clear as can be, in our time. That being said, God is merciful, and reveals Himself to those who respond to the light already given them. Read the life of St. Innocent of Alaska, in order to be enlightened on this matter. Don't let discouragement and the Satanic spiral of resentment consume your soul, for any reason. If you wish for those around you to be saved, this is possible if you will acquire the grace of the Holy Ghost. This endeavor will take every minute of every day.

And the problems that arise from that. Because a lot of our lives stem from our experience in family and our upbringing. This generation find it very hard to form stable committed long term connections and believe in marriage. Trust or simply feel emotions and give, love when you do not receive it. People are in fact hyper independent or avoidant, or too anxiously attached. Constantly running away from problems and distracting themselves I see and I no better. Many topics here sorry :) You know how marriage is a huge reflection of the church and Christ. As well as any relationship, interaction, should be a reflection of Christ. We must love one another, thy neighbour. Our parents, brothers and sisters. Everything is toxic now, everything little is over dramatised, people are quite spoilt let’s say, without offending them because this is simply the generation we are brought up in, where commodity is a lifestyle for many. And I am speaking on behalf of myself too. But more so, why exactly and what we can do more specifically. Perhaps this sparks an interest? The canons do instruct the priest to carefully immerse the entire body, such that the Christian will have the benefit of Divine Grace, entirely. Priests today tend to be much more sloppy than in ancient times, and this does matter. My first concern, however, is more about the faith of those who baptized you - although it's not proper that the immersion should have been sloppy. Far be it from me to give you spiritual guidance in a TH-cam comment. I will say this much, however: I do know of cases in Greece in which a priest had been sloppy enough to actually skip certain prayers in the ritual, and the child subsequently had serious spiritual issues, and health trouble as well. An elder instructed that only the missing parts should be repeated, and the child became well and happy. Another case, from Russia, the priest was drunk and performed the baptism so poorly that his bishop, who was a saint, declared the baptism invalid, and ordered that a sober priest ought to baptize the child properly. St. Paisius also had to rule on some similar matters, which were a bit too involved to explain here. Here's what I would suggest to you: labor to cleanse yourself, in body and soul, by obedience to the gospel commandments. You must also labor to acquire the evangelical virtues, faith, hope, and charity, by fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. I was not a witness, therefore I cannot speak on behalf of your conscience. What I would do, in your shoes, is to fast very strictly, in perfect silence, for three days. During this time, the only sound you should hear is your voice crying out in prayer to the Lord. If you do that, and pray with all your heart, I am sure that God will give you the enlightenment needed to be saved. If you fast and pray in silence, God will not leave you without the guidance that you require.

@@makethisgowhoosh No, this rule was given much, much earlier! St. Seraphim of Sarov taught it precisely this way, and I believe that he said it dates to at least the fourth century, and St. Pachomius the Great, who was taught by an angel.

@@makethisgowhoosh As I said, the rule was taught by St. Seraphim, and he made it clear that he DID NOT invent the rule, but that it was given to us by the Holy Fathers of the earliest Christian era, who were taught by angels and enlightened by the Holy Ghost. We pray this rule, today, unchanged. There is no addition, and no subtraction. This is the Orthodox way. Whereas, the Papists are constantly changing the rosary, and various popes have contributed their variety of modifications. We Orthodox Christians ignore such things, and preserve the ancient rule of the Rosary, as it has come down to us from the holy fathers.

@semenretentionjourney the way it's described in the video is that the lovemaking (in this case the actual act of sex) is meant to be done with the idea that the spouse is an Icon of Christ. In the video it even sounded like you were saying that the love was being made to God and not the individual. All the being the case, the male in this scenario is in essence having sex with Christ; male on male, hence my comment on it being pseudo-homosexual

@@kelseychristianson128 You can read that about fasting in St. Gregory Palamas, but it is ubiquitous, as a teaching from the fathers of the church, both ancient and modern. If I were you, I would endeavor to master every single word written by St. John Cassian. Pray for him to enlighten you, heed his words, and may God save you, by the prayers of His Most Pure and Holy Mother, and All the Saints. I think that the quote about seeing the Lord face to face is from St. Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain, but I often remember a quote without an ability to cite the source. I try to apply these matters to my conscience, and don't generally write papers that need proper citations. Clearly, most baptized Christians have no such experience, so it helps to keep us humble, thinking of ourselves truly as we are: unworthy sinners. Also, we do need to rely upon the prayers of the Church and of our Orthodox loved ones, when we depart this life. I try to live, such that others will be glad to pray for me, when my soul has left the body.

There are current perfect master(s) on this earth now that can take you up to the spiritual levels in this lifetime via the sound current and light current. When I committed before the Lord to tithe, in obedience to His will, I had no money, because I had given it all away to the church. At that moment, I promised God that if He would ever give me any money, ever again, I would be faithful to tithe with it, according to His revealed will. The Lord heard me! Truly.

That's a very good question. First of all, you must actually know your faith. If you are not, yourself, truly faithful to Holy Orthodoxy, which implies that you have received the True, Ancient, Catholic Faith, as taught by the Holy Fathers, Ecumenical Teachers, and given in the Holy Canons, Scriptures, and Divine Services, then you how would you be able to test anyone? Understand that confessing your sins to a certain priest, one time, does not mean that you are now and always in obedience to him. YOU are the only one that has the power to place yourself in obedience to an elder. Before you place yourself in obedience to an elder, you must strive to be truly faithful to Jesus Christ. If you love the Lord Himself, if you understand that Christ Himself is our Faith, then you may ask our Lord to enlighten you, and to guide you to a good, faithful, experienced spiritual father. Once you find such a man, you will be inspired of the Holy Ghost as to how to test him, if you wish to be saved, and as is necessary unto your salvation. But, this will be forever impossible for you, unless you show YOURSELF to be an approved workman, one who need not be ashamed. What is your knowledge of Symbol of the True Faith? Of the Holy Scriptures? of the Holy Canons? Do you know what it means to be a member of the One, Holy, Orthodox, Catholic, and Apostolic Church? Can you say what that means, to your own satisfaction? First, be sure that you have labored to enter the True Church, to discern Christ's Body. What does "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism" really mean? Do you know? Can you tell me? If these matters are abundantly clear to you, then, and only then, can you test a spiritual father. Before anything else, you must know that his faith and his confession is Orthodox. Today, a great many priests, and the majority of those who claim to be Orthodox bishops, are not. Can you tell an Orthodox Christian from a fake Orthodox ecumenist? If you don't know what I am talking about, then you will never be able to test a spiritual father. If you do understand, it's rather a simple matter. Furthermore, when you are certain that the elder's faith is Orthodox, you should know that the man is also spiritually experienced. Such men develop reputations, which are not difficult to adjudicate, if you pay attention. What is the nature of the man's spiritual experience? "Enlighten my darkness," prayed St. Gregory Palamas, to the Theotokos. May God enlighten you, as to this important question!

To test a spiritual father I think I have to listen to his sermons, ask him questions about several matters (as if I don't know answers to these questions), also ask the parish members about him and, ofc, ask God to guide me. Look for the video on TH-cam where he was interviewed by Ruslan KD. In this way, Pageau is quite like the majority of Orthodox clergy in America, in that they ignore the holy canons.
