I'll answer you:- If you look at those quoted scriptures together with 2 Cor 3:1-6 (which sets the tone/theme of the passage) you'll note a very different story that Paul reveals. He's simply telling the Corinthians that they are living examples of what the NEW COVENANT looks like in fleshly/living form. Epistles of Christ written in their own hearts and mind ie fleshly tablets. He re-establishes the Decalogue! -Hebrews 8:10- for this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, Says the LORD. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. A shift from calved stones to hearts and mind. If the law is written in your heart, you love them, if in your mind, you know them. It becomes part of your being. You need not anyone remind you about them. 2cor3:3- ... written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God. The Spirit reminds you. The tablets of stone was of condemnation. Why condemnation? Exodus 34 talks about the radiant state of Moses's face. He had spoken with the LORD hence his glorious face. (Vs 29-33) ...And the Children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses's face shone, and Moses put the veil upon his face again.... 2cor 3:10- what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that Excels. What is this excelling glory? Jesus Christ. HE abolished the glory of Moses that the Israelites could not steadfastly look! The veil though, still prevented them from seeing the glory of Christ because of their stubbornness. What Paul means in VS 14-16. So, the tablets of stone were replaced by the very law being written in our hearts and mind (New covenant) to manifest it through our actions. Moses's glory was replaced by Christ the permanent glory 😊. The Sabbath is part of the Decalogue. Jesus honored it as was HIS custom - Luke 4:16, The disciples too-Luke 23:56, Apostles and the early church throughout the book of Acts. Daniel's prophecy sets the tone about why the Sabbath will be a major issue of conflict. Daniel 7:25 [25]He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. If we'd understand God's law from a point of Love and Obedience and not Dos and Don'ts , it'd make more sense. Yet the verses in Hebrews 8 tells us that this is a different covenant, NOT LIKE the one given at Mt Sinai: Heb 8:8-9 _For he finds fault with them when he says: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, _*_not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt"_* And verse 13 states _"In speaking of a new covenant, _*_He makes the first one obsolete"_* . As you mentioned, in 2 Cor 3, the apostle Paul is referring to the account in Exodus 34 where Moses is given the old covenant. Please notice that the covenant given here *IS the Ten Commandments* . Exo 34:27-28 _And the LORD said to Moses, “Write these words, for in accordance _*_with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel"_*_ . So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And _*_he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant_*_ , the Ten Commandments"_ . The book of Deuteronomy makes this same claim: Deut 4:13 *_"And he declared to you His Covenant_*_ , which he commanded you to perform, that is, _*_the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone"_* . Therefore the Ten Commandments *ARE* the Old Covenant, And again, per the New Testament writings, we are now under a "New Covenant" and the old covenant is now obsolete (Hebrews 8:13 *_In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete_* .) You also said *"HE abolished the glory of Moses that the Israelites could not steadfastly look...Moses's glory was replaced by Christ the permanent glory"* Respectfully, this cannot be the case. The glory on Moses's face disappeared shortly after He came down the mountain with the old covenant. The glory on Moses's shining face couldn't have been abolished when Christ came because Moses had been dead for so long by then, his facial glory was completely a thing of the distant past by more than a millennium. Notice that in context of 2 Cor 3 the thing being brought to an end is a "what" or "it", and not a person. _"For if _*_what was being brought to an end_*_ came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory"_ . _"For if there was glory in the _*_ministry of condemnation_*_ , the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. Indeed, in this case, _*_what once had glory has come to have no glory at all_*_ , because of the glory that surpasses it"_ . Additionally the very opening statement in this particular passage clearly states the object of the glory being referred to. _"Now if _*_the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone_*_ , came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of _*_ITS GLORY"_* It is clear that the "what" or "it" being brought to an end and abolished is the *"ministry of condemnation and death"* carved on letters of stone. So why would Paul refer to it in such negative terms? It is because much of the ten commandments had death penalty attached to it for breaking it, including the Sabbath command. Exo 35:2 _"Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. _*_Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death"_* . It is notable that since the inauguration of the New Covenant and the ending of the old, the death penalty for breaking the Sabbath has no longer been in place. This is significant for even the practicing Jews themselves today no longer obey this command to administer the death penalty for profaning the Sabbath. (Whether they know it or not, the New Covenant wiped out a number of their old covenant practices to large degree, for example there has been no more temple sacrifices for some 2000 years, etc.). Nowadays, we in fact understand that it would actually be immoral to kill anyone anywhere for breaking the Sabbath. If you saw someone stoning someone else to death for mowing their lawn on the Sabbath you would restrain this person and call the police. This would obviously be immoral. So why did God once commanded it at one time but now we considered such a thing to be immoral? I don't imagine that the Jews ever enjoyed having to stone someone to death for breaking the Sabbath. Certainly the new Gentile converts coming into the church in the New Testament times would have been appalled if they too were now forced to engage in such practices. At the Jerusalem council some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, _“It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses"_ (Acts 15:5). But Peter stood up in defense of the new gentile believers and said _"Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by _*_placing a yoke on the neck_*_ of the disciples that _*_neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?"_* (Act 15:10 ). Apparently living under the old covenant was not an easy thing to do. And since circumcision was now off the table, so were the commandments that were subservient to it, like the Sabbath. (See John 7:22-23) This is why the dividing wall of hostility had be removed. A wall that was designed to separate the Jew from the rest of the Gentile nations in order for the the promised Messiah could be born into a holy enough environment where the sinful practices common in other societies would have abated by the stricter laws found in the old covenant (many of which we puzzle over even today). But they were for a purpose at the time, to bring together one united people with one united goal which was to bring about the promised "seed of the woman" and of Abraham. Eph 2:14-16 _"For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility"_ . Recall that all real commandments or laws that are currently enforced always have punishments associated with them if they are disobeyed. If there are no penalties, such commands lack any force and thus are no longer applicable. Since there is no penalty for breaking the Sabbath any longer, judicially this law has been rescinded. Paul also informs us that we cannot be under the old covenant law and under the new covenant at the same time. This is spiritual adultery: Romans 7:1-6 _"Or do you not know, brothers---for I am speaking to those who know the law---that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives? For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage. Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress. Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God... _*_But now we are released from the law_*_ , having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code"_ . *[And we know this "Law" that Paul is referring to includes the Ten Commandments for he mentions one of them in verse 7, namely "thou shall not covet"]* Rom 7:7 _"What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, _*_“You shall not covet"_* . So back to 2 Cor 3 where Paul also speaks of the Ten Commandments as *"passing away", "transitory" and "abolished"* . It is because the old covenant has been superseded by the New Covenant which now allows the entire world, both Jew and Gentile, to enter the Kingdom of God. I have much more to say, but for now I've said enough. I know we will likely have disagreement on these things, but this is how I read the 2 Corinthians 3 passage. I honestly don't see how we can interpret in any other way and yet make sense out of things like Paul calling the Ten Commandments "a ministry of death and condemnation" which has now "passed away" . Please know that am in no way promoting antinomianism or lawlessness, but rather that the promised Holy Spirit now guides our lives with God's moral law and desires now written on our hearts. Again, this New Covenant *is not like* the old covenant given at Mt. Sinai. It is different with a much broader scope which now extends to all people. I welcome your thoughts and perspective.

To better understand the role of God's law &His grace better, the law is like a mirror. It helps us see the corruption in our hearts. The law reveals sin-Romans 7:7. What is sin? Transgression of the law-1John3:4-6. God's law is very important and in effect as it helps us see the NEED of our SAVIOR Jesus Christ who is the WATER of life. HE cleanses our dirt. The law alone does not save us. God's law (written in our hearts and mind) matters because without it, we would no longer SEE OUR SINS and the need of GRACE which is God's gift to us. To whom much is forgiven LOVES the more. God's grace is not a ticket for sin. Romans 6:1-2- Shall we sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! In the story of the woman caught in adultery, Jesus told her "Go and sin no more" Thank you for the comment!

There's a clear distinction between God's law of liberty -James 1:25 AND the law of Moses which Galatians refers to. I've explained it in my earlier video (The law of Galatians). Also, it is about whether we should keep the sabbath or not. Not a salvation issue. Thanks for your comment 😊
