    There is so much talk about baiting and how it shouldn't be done. I think it comes down to the hunters conscience after he kills his deer. If he kills his deer a half mile away from a feeder he feels like Chuck Adams. Whether a hunter uses a feeder or not he still scouts out food sources. No hunter seeks out dirt or thin woods when asking permission to hunt. It always comes down to food and more food. Deer are browsers. If the native Americans had access to Boss bucks they would of used them. They ran buffalo's off cliffs. Clubbed whitetails in rivers. Let's let the wildlife officers set the rules.

    Seemed like more of a BAB podcast than that of a strategy one. Trespass is trespass and to say he would get Honey off the Libby’s no hunt zone, is being a thief and a hypocrite. It’s sad how many guys bitch about their neighbors, but are those neighbors to someone else. Same thoughts for the regret crossbow buck.Young guys who need to grow in a bit more and should reflect on the good book more than their social media stance for direction.

    • @SimanBrothersOutdoors
      @SimanBrothersOutdoors 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@garretts1604 valid points, strategy for private is very focused on the layout of the land. A flat piece of alfalfa in Kansas is going to hunt differently than a hillside in WV of only oak trees. We touched on the fact that natural movement is almost 0 during hunting season in northeast Ohio due to the baiting. Of course trespassing is illegal and condoning it is unethical. BUT, it’s also unethical to leave a deer, buck or doe to rot, simply due to your neighbors preconceived notions. To expect everyone hunting to have perfect moral ground and keep things black and white at all times is impossible. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave feedback.

      SE here, hence the Hill Country ask with the other video. Corn piles are as Ohioian as Buckeyes now. It’s a shame, holding the herd and age structure back (this coming from a nonresident landowner) … the irony in this how the local culture, as you all shared with the adjacent landowners in this video, is where the shift to kill more immature bucks has originated.

    • @SimanBrothersOutdoors
      @SimanBrothersOutdoors 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@garretts1604 yes, we didn’t get to tap into it as much as I wanted too, but the truth is the deer have unlimited potential in Ohio and our state does kill some exceptional deer. The record books are full of them, but the ease of which we can kill deer here with all the liberal regulations makes it really hard for a lot of deer to reach full potential. 5-6-7 year old bucks here are truly stunning animals, but rare for them to reach that in our immediate area. It does happen, just not as often as we’d like.

    My opinion man I think it comes down to certain pockets of areas in Ohio as far as population goes. I know of spots in Stark Tusc Noble and Monroe counties that you’d never guess have a population issue every year but I know other people talk about the numbers hurting in their areas. Thats even with a ridiculous amount of predators and an increased number of bobcats in southern Ohio. I run a lot of cameras this time of year every year just to get an idea of how many birds are around because they don’t always talk…and atleast my spots in Southern Ohio this is the most overall birds I’ve seen in a couple years. Thats private and public land. Southern Ohio I think is at an advantage with the amount of big mature hardwoods and roosting opportunities compared to more farmland up north. Logging I see in certain areas has changed the locations of birds as well… Some great turkey properties that I’ve had in the past have been completely ruined just by logging of their roost trees. They just move on until they find better roosting locations.. Something I think not talked about enough as well is the efficiency of turkey hunters with the latest and greatest technology. It used to be really hard to kill birds 20 years ago especially field birds. With the advancements in long range shells..the use of realistic decoys…fans…. Blinds..it’s made turkey hunters a lot more effective. To the point that we have over hunted them and it’s taken years to finally catch up. Just my opinions. Good talk guys

      Great response Danny, our biggest issue is some of our farms that have been turkey heaven over the last decade are just barren. Plenty of roosting trees and cover, good hardwoods. There just simply isn’t any birds.

    You don't have to settle for a "baby on board" bino harness. There are several water proof and quiet bino protectors on the market that are streamlined and easy to use.
